Introduction
The TG232W uses a magnetically operated sensor
to detect doors and windows being opened. It has
two selectable sounder modes – alarm and chime.
The high output alarm (105dB) is useful when you
wish to deter intruder entry and the chime mode
can be used when you wish to be informed of
movements at entry points or within the building.
Battery Installation/Change
Move slide switch (see fig 1) to off. Press down on
the raised arrow head on the battery cover and
slide the cover in the direction of the arrow
removing it from the alarm unit. Remove the
battery connector from the old battery if necessary
and push it onto the new battery. Slide the battery
cover back into position.

4
Installation
Decide on a position for the
alarm unit and magnet/sensor ensuring that the
twin flex is sufficiently long to connect the sensor
to the alarm unit and that there is good access to
the slide switch and battery compartment on the
alarm unit.
Fix the magnet to the edge of the chosen door or
window using two of the smaller screws or one of
the double-sided adhesive pads provided. Fix the
sensor to the door or window frame directly
opposite the magnet with any arrow on the
magnet pointing towards the arrow on the sensor.
The gap between the magnet and the sensor must
be 6mm or less.
The alarm unit may now be fixed to the wall by
drilling two holes 43mm vertically apart and using
the two larger screws and wall plugs supplied.
Remove the terminal cover from the sensor by
pressing down at the centre and sliding out. Route
the twin flex from the alarm unit to the sensor and
remove any excess allowing for termination. Strip
around 12mm of insulation from each wire and
insert the stripped wires under the sensor terminal

5
Checking Operation
Move the slide switch to chime and open the door
or window. A two tone chime will occur
immediately and will only repeat if the
door/window is closed and opened again.
Slide the switch to alarm and repeat the above test.
The alarm will sound for around 30 seconds then
stop unless the slide switch is moved to off.
Closing the door/window will not stop the alarm
once it has been activated.
