In late 1998 Thule Audio introduced the IA250B. It revolutionized the way we think about combined stereo and surround power amplifiers. In several countries the IA250B, and after the fall of 1999 also the power version, called PA250B, received rave reviews and product of the year rewards.

In the spring of 1999, we introduced the first generation combined stereo and surround pre amplifier. Incorporated into the Space PR250B was all the surround formats available at that time, and such useful features as composite and S-VHS videoswitching with very high bandwidth, a fully balanced configuration with both balanced and unbalanced Pure Audio inputs, for complete bypass of the sophisticated DSP from Motorola.

In the early fall of 2001, Thule introduced the second generation of power amplifiers, in three different versions. PA250B MKII, PA350B and IA350B. Both the PA versions are now fully upgradable to either 6 or 7 channels, among other cool features. The electronics of these products was once again a complete new development, and includes our own

developed Virtual Class A

and High Efficiency® principles.

In the summer of 2002, Thule Audio is very proud to introduce the new second generation surround processor / preamplifier: Space PR350B. From the front you might be lead to think there aren’t changed much. But just from looking on the rearpanel, you will notice the changes right away.

We have incorporated the newest technology in the form of a new DSP (56367) from Motorola, together with all the experience and know-how obtained from manufacturing sophisticated surround equipment for more than three years. In our new surround processor you will find that all of today's relevant surround formats can be decoded, such as DTS ES, Dolby EX compatible, DTS 6.1 discrete, DTS 5.1 24bit/96KHz, Dolby Pro Logic II. This advanced decoding can create a matrix of both the front and back side speakers giving you the option for two center side speakers as well as a matrix of the rear surround speakers for a center rear speaker.

Also here we have looked at the demands in the market, and have developed new possibilities for the user. We have developed a complete second zone management center, and The PR350B can thr ough a later a vailable conversion plug, be connected to all RS 232 compatible home automation systems.

On the input side, we have listened to the market and has taken t he Pure Audio input a step further. Now you can chose from up to 6 analogue ”Pass through” inputs in different combinations. We have added four coax inputs to match today's 5.1 analogue signals from DVD-A and SACD players. In our new processor yo u can se t up whether you want to use only Coax inputs, or you can choose balanced input for stereo combined with coax for the surround channels and subwoofer. This feat ur e ensure s your futur e us e of the PR350B together with the new High End formats for music.
