for RXL 350
Submersible Set Screw Junction

All apparatus must be de-energized during installation or removal of part(s).
Do not touch or move energized products.
Excess distortion of the assembled product may result in its failure.

IMPORTANT
1. Check contents of package to ensure they are complete and
undamaged.
2. Check all components to ensure proper t with cable and /or
mating products.
3. Read entire installation instructions before starting.
4. Have all required tools at hand and maintain cleanliness throughout
the procedure.
INSTRUCTIONS
Remove cable seal sleeve with cap plug from bus as shown.
1.

Remove the cap plug from the cable seal sleeve.

Select and cut off the correct ring at tip of arrow on the sleeve
per the following instructions:
Cut sleeve straight across the end of the ring that is to be used.
Use the conductor port without sleeve for wire sizes from
250-350 kcmil.

Cut here for 3/0 to 4/0 conductor or 0.59” to 0.72” insulation diameters.
Cut here for #1 to 2/0 conductor or 0.47” to 0.58” insulation diameters.
Cut here for #4 to #2 conductor or 0.36” to 0.46” insulation diameters.
Cut here for #12 to #6 conductor or 0.15” to 0.35” insulation diameters.
Wipe the end of the conductor insulation clean and apply

silicone lubricant to the conductor insulation.
Slide the collar end of the sleeve on to the cable so that 4” of

Strip insulation from conductor. Use a strip length of 1-1/8” as

Wire brush the conductor to break up oxides on the conductor surface.

Remove set screw plug and back set screw out to allow the

necessary clearance for the conductor.
Install conductor into conductor port of the bus until conductor

hits the bottom of the port. When the conductor has bottomed
out, the sleeve tip should be even with the end of the port. This
indicates full cable insertion.
Torque set screws to :

Apply silicone lubricant to the outside of the sleeve on the

step marked 3/0-4/0.
Slide sleeve into the port so that the sleeve collar is ush

Repeat for each conductor port.
