Safety instructions
The Sixta Pad converts digital trigger signals from drum pads into various percussion sounds. Use the device only as described in this user manual. Any other use or use under other oper‐ ating conditions is considered to be improper and may result in personal injury or property damage. No liability will be assumed for damages resulting from improper use.
This device may be used only by persons with sufficient physical, sensorial, and intellectual abilities and having corresponding knowledge and experience. Other persons may use this device only if they are supervised or instructed by a person who is responsible for their safety.
DANGER! Danger for children
Ensure that plastic bags, packaging, etc. are disposed of properly and are not within reach of babies and young children. Choking hazard!
Ensure that children do not detach any small parts (e.g. knobs or the like) from the unit. They could swallow the pieces and choke!
Never let children unattended use electrical devices.

With loudspeakers or headphones connected, the device can produce volume levels that may cause temporary or permanent hearing impairment.
Do not operate the device permanently at a high volume level. Decrease the volume level immediately if you experience ringing in your ears or hearing impairment.

This device has been designed for indoor use only. To prevent damage, never expose the device to any liquid or moisture. Avoid direct sunlight, heavy dirt, and strong vibrations.

NOTICE! External power supply
The device is powered by an external power supply. Before connecting the external power supply, ensure that the input voltage (AC outlet) matches the voltage rating of the device and that the AC outlet is protected by a residual cur‐ rent circuit breaker. Failure to do so could result in damage to the device and pos‐ sibly the user.
Unplug the external power supply before electrical storms occur and when the device is unused for long periods of time to reduce the risk of electric shock or fire.

In and outputs
Only use the supplied power adapter to operate the device. Always turn the device off before connecting or disconnecting the power adapter. Unplug the DC power adapter from the mains when the device is not in use.
Here you can connect headphones to listen to the drum sounds.

You can feed the audio output signal from these sockets to e.g. an amplifier.
Here you can connect the hi-hat pedal. If there is no hi-hat pedal connected to the HH CTRL input, hitting the hi-hat pad creates the
sound of a closed hi-hat. If a hi-hat pedal is connected, the hi-hat pad sounds closed when you step on the pedal and
sounds open when the pedal is released. If you solely step on the pedal, you hear the hi-hat sound.

When you have connected a pedal to the KICK input, step on the pedal to get the sound of a bass drum.
The sockets HH CTRL and KICK are interchangeable.
You can use this socket to feed an external audio signal into the unit and to mix it with the sound of the Sixta Pad. The mixed signal is available on the sockets OUTPUT and PHONE.

Device functions
There are 30 drum kits available in the Sixta Pad: 10 factory presets and 20 user presets. You can set the voice, the sensitivity and the volume of each pad to programme up to 20 drum kits. You can choose from 163 different instrument voices for programming each pad.
There are 17 drum songs available and each song can be repeated. There are 3 accompani‐ ments available and each accompaniment can be played repeatedly. The drum sound in the accompaniment can be muted and the volume of the accompaniment is adjustable.
In metronome mode, you can set the rhythm, beat, tempo and click sound.
You can record your drum beat with accompaniment and the demo song, when a demo song is playing. A real time MIDI out signal is available. Hi-hat and kick pedals are supported.

Slide the ‘POWER’ switch into the ON position to turn the device on. The display briefly lights up. The drum kit menu is the default menu to be displayed after powering on. Select a drum kit.
Turn the ‘VOLUME’ control to adjust the volume.

Set up the drum kit
1.
Press the [DRUM] button to activate the drum kit menu. Press the buttons to select a drum kit. The LED display shows the number of the current drum kit (P01-P10 = preset drum kits, U11-U30 = user drum kits).
2. Press the [PAD] button to activate the pad menu in ‘User kit’ mode. The pad number is
displayed (including the hi-hat and bass drum pedals). For selection, hit one of the pads (1 - 9) or step on a pedal or press the buttons.
3. Press the [GAIN/TEMPO] button to adjust the sensitivity of the pad. When the
[GAIN/TEMPO] button lights up press the buttons to set a sensitivity value between
1 and 10. Only the sensitivity of the pads is adjustable. If using a hi-hat or bass drum pedal, step on the pedal to set the sensitivity.

4. Press the [VALUE/RHYTHM] button to adjust the pad volume. When the [VALUE/RHYTHM]
button lights up press the buttons to set the volume in a range of 1 to 10.

Press the [PAD/ASSIGN] button to set the sound for each pad using the buttons. S01 - S06 snare drum b01 - b08 bass drum t01 - t40 toms C01 - C18 cymbals E01 - E71 other percussion sounds
6. Press the [BRUSH SET/BEAT] button to select a pad for the hi-hat pedal. When
[BRUSH SET/BEAT] lights up, press the buttons to select a pad (1 - 6 ).

Demo song playback
7. Press the [SAVE] button to save the new settings.
You can only save the values of the user drum kits.
8. Press the [PLAY] button to start or stop the demo song.
You can also press the button to mute the drum part and play along yourself.
1. In DRUM or METRO mode, press the [SONG] button to activate the DEMO SONG menu.
The number of the current song is displayed. Use the buttons to select the demo songs (1-17 drum sound, 18-20 accompaniment, loop). Press the [SONG] button again to exit the menu.

2.
Press the [GAIN/TEMPO] button to activate the TEMPO menu. Use the buttons to adjust the tempo in a range of 30 to 260 beats per minute (bpm). The tempo is dis‐ played. The original tempo is restored when selecting a new song.
3. Press the [VALUE/RHYTHM] button to activate the accompaniment volume menu for the
demo songs. Press the buttons to set the desired volume for the accompanying instruments – the drum volume remains unchanged. The LED display shows the current volume in a range of 1 to 10.
4. Press the [BRUSH SET/BEAT] button to set the repeat mode for demo song playback.

5. Press the [SAVE] button to save the user settings.
6. Press the [PLAY] button or hit a drum pad to start or stop the demo song. When [PLAY]
lights up the demo song playback starts. Press the [PLAY] button again to stop the demo song playback.
1. Press the [METRO] button to start the metronome function. Press the [METRO] button
again to change to the adjust mode for the drum kit.

Press the [VALUE/RHYTHM] button to activate the RHYTHM menu. Use the buttons to select the desired rhythm. The respectively current rhythm (1 to 8) is displayed

Press the [BRUSH SET/BEAT] button to activate the BEAT menu. Use the buttons to select the desired beat and time signature (0 to 9, ‘0’ stands for a continuous metronome beat without accent beats).

Press the [PAD ASSIGN] button to change the click sound. Use the buttons to select the desired sound (1: click, 2: cowbell or 3: conga). The number of the currently selected sound is displayed.
6. Press the [SAVE] button to save the settings.
7. Start the metronome by hitting a pad. Press the [PLAY] button to stop the metronome.

1. Press the [REC] button to activate the recording mode.
2. Activate record standby mode:
n Press the [SONG] button. The [SONG] button lights up when a demo song is selected. n Press the [METRO] button to turn the metronome on. The [METRO] button lights up.

well, if selected. The [REC] button is flashing during recording. Press the [REC] button to cancel the recording and return to the recording mode. Press the [PLAY] button to stop recording.
If a few seconds should pass without hitting the pads, the device automatically stops recording. If the memory is full, recording will stop automatically. The demo song and the metronome will also be stopped and the [PLAY] and [SAVE] keys begin to flash simul‐ taneously.
4. Press the [PLAY] button to play the recorded song. The [PLAY] button lights up during
playback. Press the [PLAY] button again to stop the playback.
5. Press the [SAVE] button to save the recording.

DRUM OFF and MIDI OUT
When starting a new recording, the previous recording will automatically be over‐ written.
1. Press the [DRUM OFF] button to mute the drum sound in a demo song with accompa‐
nying instruments. This button is deactivated during playback of a recording.
2. Press the [MIDI OUT] button to output a MIDI signal at the MIDI out port. This will deacti‐
vate the OUTPUT and PHONE outputs.
