Handlingdevicesthataresensitivetoelectrostaticdischarge

Anycomputerpartcontainingtransistorsorintegratedcircuits(ICs)shouldbeconsideredsensitiveto electrostaticdischarge(ESD).ESDdamagecanoccurwhenthereisadifferenceinchargebetweenobjects. ProtectagainstESDdamagebyequalizingthechargesothatthemachine,thepart,theworkmat,andthe personhandlingthepartareallatthesamecharge.

Notes:
1.Useproduct-specificESDprocedureswhentheyexceedtherequirementsnotedhere.
2.EnsurethattheESDprotectivedevicesyouusehavebeencertified(ISO9000)asfullyeffective.
WhenhandlingESD-sensitiveparts:
•Keepthepartsinprotectivepackagesuntiltheyareinsertedintotheproduct.
•Avoidcontactwithotherpeople.
•Wearagroundedwriststrapagainstyourskintoeliminatestaticonyourbody.
