Board Confidence Test & Demo: The TMS570 Microcontroller Development Kit (MDK) Confidence Test &
Demo Application allows verification most functions of the CPU and I/O board’s functionality. It also provides a demonstration of some of the kit’s functionality. This application comes pre-programmed into the TMS570 flash memory and will automatically run when the +12V DC power supply is connected to the kit. The demonstration is controlled using the menus on the board’s LCD. The application is included on the MDK DVD and can reprogrammed at a later time.

Quick Start Guide: TMS570 Microcontroller Development Kit Demos
1
Install the TMS570 MCU Development Kit Software. A full install is required to ensure that all demo features of the MCU Development Kit are available.
3
Start the TMS570 Safety Demo Software. In Windows XP the software will be available in ‘Start->All Programs->Texas Instruments->TMS570 Safety MCU Demos.
4
Launch any of the TMS570 Demos from the launch pad. Internet access is required to view the device documentation. Code Composer Studio must be installed to view the microcontroller source code.
2
Plug in the +12V power supply into the MDK CPU card and connect the USB mini-B cable between the MDK CPU card and a USB port on the PC. The PC will recognize the MDK board as an XDS100v2 JTAG Emulator and a USB Serial port. NOTE: The board confidence test
comes pre-programmed in the TMS570 flash memory and will be overwritten by the Safety MCU Demo program.
