IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
Please follow all the precautions listed below for safety and to reduce the risk of re, injury or electrical shock.
Retain the manual. If you pass the product on to a third party, make sure to include this manual.
Unplug the appliance from the mains supply, when not in use, or before cleaning any part of the appliance.
This appliance is for household use only. Do not use it for professional catering. Do not use the appliance outdoors or in damp or
wet conditions. Do not immerse the appliance or the electrical
cord or plug in liquids. Do not use the appliance near a source of heat or
on an unstable surface. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8
years and above and persons with reduced physical sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in
a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance.
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised .
Make sure that the power cord does not touch any hot surface and that it does not overhang the edge of your work surface.
When unplugging the power cord, hold the plug top, not the power cord.
Do not use attachments or accessories which are not recommended by the manufacturer. They may cause malfunction or injury.
Store the appliance away from direct sunlight and out of the reach of children. DO NOT touch the operating surfaces when the
appliance is operational. RISK OF BURNS. Never insert any metal object or implement
into the appliance. This may cause damage and personal injury.
There are no user serviceable parts in your appliance. Unauthorised dismantling or servicing
will void the product warranty. Do not operate the appliance with a damaged
cord or plug or after the appliance or any com­ponent has been damaged. Take it to a qualied electrical repair centre for repair.
Do not use the appliance for any purpose not expressly specied in this manual.
ELECTRICAL INFORMATION
Before using this appliance ensure that the volt­age of your electricity supply is the same as that indicated on the rating plate of the appliance.
The means of disconnecting this appliance from the mains supply is the mains plug. This should be unobstructed and readily operable at all times.
Surfaces on this appliance can get hot during use.
WARNING: The grill plates are removable for cleaning. Before use ensure that the plates are securely in place. Always make sure that the ap­pliance is fully cooled down (room temperature) before removing or replacing the plates.
IMPORTANT NOTE: When switched on for the rst time the appliance may emit a small amount of vapour and light smoke - this is normal. The vapour will burn o safely within a few minutes.

Features and Controls
Unpacking
Remove all packaging from the appliance. Retain the packaging. If you dispose of it do so according to any recycling regulations.
Lift the lid fully open.
Wipe the upper and lower grill plates with a damp cloth containing a trace of dilute detergent. Remove all traces of detergent with a cloth damped with clean water. Dry the grill surfaces thoroughly.
Brush a very small amount of oil carefully over the entire surface of the grill plates. (You may need to repeat this opera­tion after removing food which has adhered to the plates).
OPERATION
Operate the unit on a stable and level heat and stain resistant work top. You may use a heatproof mat to prevent stains. To

Using the Grill
When the operating light comes on:
Open the lid fully. Distribute the food on the lower grill plate. The food should
not overhang the grill but sit within the raised rim. If you are grilling fewer items, place them centrally.
Close the lid. The food will be held secure by the weight of the lid. DO NOT PRESS THE LID OR FORCE IT SHUT.
During cooking turn the food as your recipe directs. Open the lid, turn the food with a heatproof plastic or wooden spatula or tongs. Close the lid .
Cook the food for the required amount of time. Near the end of the cooking time, it may be advisable to open the lid and check that the food is cooking properly.

When the food is cooked:
Open the lid fully. Remove the food with a heatproof plastic or wooden spatula or pair of tongs.
NEVER use a metal tool to insert or remove food. Close the lid.

Preheating the Grill
This operation must be performed before you begin grilling.
1. Place the drip tray centrally under the grill base.
2. Close the lid of the appliance.
3. Plug the grill into a wall power socket and switch on. The red power light will come on.
The appliances are not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.

After use:
Switch o and unplug the unit at the power outlet.
Remove the plug from the power outlet and allow the grill to cool down completely.
The Drip Tray: Remove the drip tray and discard the accumu­lated debris safely. Do NOT discard waste food, oil or fat into the sink or a drain. Dispose of it as you do other kitchen refuse.
Wash the drip tray in warm soapy water, rinse in clean water and allow to dry thoroughly.
Remove and clean the Grill plates
Open the grill. Release each plate one at a time. Press the clips lightly to release the plate and carefully remove the plate.
Scrape the grill plates (if necessary) with a plastic or wooden scraper to remove any adhered particles of food. Special scrap­ers with indentations to t the raised sections of the grill are available from kitchen shops and their use is recommended. Wash the plates in warm soapy water. Any stubborn particles should be removed with a plastic scrubbing pad. Rinse the clean plates with clean water and dry thoroughly
Replace the Grill plates: On the at section of each plate there are two tabs. Place these tabs into the slots in the grill and press the plate rmly into place. The clips will click holding the plate secure. The plates will t only one way round and are not interchangeable.
Check the plates are secure and close the grill.
OUTSIDE:
Wipe the body with a soft cloth which has been rinsed almost dry in warm soapy water, and dry with a soft cloth.
DO NOT use abrasive chemicals steel wool, scouring or abrasive pads on the inside or outside of the grill.
Storage
Replace the drip tray under the grill. Coil the power cable loosely and store the appliance in a cup-
board safely out of the reach of children. When moving the grill: Hold the closed grill at the sides.
The handle is only for lifting the upper section of the grill. It is not a carrying handle.
WARNING: Never store the grill without the plates correctly tted. Accidental operation of the grill without the plates se­curely tted or missing is dangerous
Warranty
Your appliance is covered by a warranty for 12 months from the date of purchase. If a fault develops during this period, please return the unit to your nearest Tesco store together with the original receipt as proof of purchase. This warranty in no way
aects your consumer rights.
