The speaker can be powered by the internal
rechargeable batteries or via the USB cable
(supplied), connected to the USB jack of a
computer or a USB charger (not supplied).
Connecting USB power
Connect the micro-USB jack to the DC IN 5V •
jack on the back panel.
Connect the USB jack to a computer or a 5V •
USB AC adaptor.
To turn the speaker on
Slide the OFF/ON switch to the ON position.•
The speaker will beep and the Bluetooth/Charge
indicator light will ash while searching for the
last connected Bluetooth device.
If this device is found within 20 seconds, it will
re-connect.
If it is not found, the speaker will be visible for
connection to other Bluetooth sources.
Before playing your speaker it must be paired
and connected to the Bluetooth source you are
using. This may be a mobile phone or Bluetooth
equipped laptop etc.
Pairing with a Bluetooth device
Switch on the speaker.•
The Bluetooth/Charge indicator light will ash.
Activate Bluetooth on the source.•
If the source is a phone, Bluetooth will normally
be activated in the connectivity section of the
settings menu.
If the source is a computer, Bluetooth settings
should be found in the Control Panel.
In the Bluetooth menu of the source, there •
should be an option to search for Bluetooth
devices. Select this option.
The source will now scan for other B luetooth
devices and should nd the speaker, identied as
‘TescoBT1402’.
Touchpad operation
The top panel controls are touchpads. To operate
the controls, touch the pads with your nger.
There is no need to press them hard.
Mobile phones
Once the speaker is connected to your phone,
the sound should switch from your phone to
the speaker. You can now play music from your
phone via the speaker or receive hands-free
calls. Speak clearly, close to the microphone on
the top panel when making a phone call.
Laptop computers
Once the speaker is connected to your laptop,
you may need to open the sound menu and
select the speaker as your preferred sound
device. Once this is done, you can play music
from your laptop.
The Aux In jack may be used to connect sources
that do not have Bluetooth connectivity.
NOTE: Aux in sources can only play through the
speaker. The microphone and playback controls
will not function for phone calls etc.

Connecting to the Aux In jack
Connect a stereo 3.5mm jack cable (not •
supplied) between the headphone or LINE/
AUX output of the personal audio player and
the AUX IN jack on the back panel.
To ensure maximum life from the batteries in
your speaker, follow these guidelines:
Discharge the batteries completely twice •
a year.
If the speaker hasn’t been used for a long •
period of time, discharge the batteries
completely, then fully charge them for 4
hours before use.
No power
The battery may be at. Connect the •
speaker to a USB power source to charge it.
Unable to pair with the speaker
Check if the Bluetooth/Charge indicator is •
ashing. If not switch o the power, then
switch back on and re-try.
Insucient volume when playing an Aux In
source
Try increasing the volume setting at the •
source.
All care and cleaning operations should be
carried out with the unit unplugged from the
mains power.
The surface of the unit can be cleaned with a
barely damp cloth and then dried carefully.
Never use abrasives, abrasive cloths or chemical
solvents .

Charging the batteries
When power is connected, the internal batteries
will begin to charge and the B luetooth/Charge
indicator will light red.
When the batteries are fully charged, the
Bluetooth/Charge indicator will switch o.
Low battery warning
When the batteries are nearly exhausted,
the speaker will beep. The speaker should be
charged as soon as possible.
If the batteries are completely exhausted,
charge the speaker for at least 4 hours.
NOTE: The battery will charge whether the
speaker is switched on or o.
To turn the speaker o
Slide the OFF/ON switch to the OFF •
position.
Choose to pair with this.•
If the device features Bluetooth technology earlier
than V2.1, you will be asked for a password.
If so, enter 0000.•
Your Bluetooth source will now be connected to the
speaker. Once connection has been established,
the speaker will beep and the Bluetooth/Charge
indicator will ash slowly.
After pairing for the rst time, the speaker will
appear in the connection menu of your Bluetooth
device.
Re-connecting
Your device and the speaker should re-connect
when next used if no other device has been
connected to the speaker.
Disconnecting
To disconnect from a Bluetooth deivice,
Touch and hold the •
pad for 3
seconds.
The speaker will beep.
The connected device will be disconnected and
the Bluetooth/Charge indicator will ash.
Volume control
Touch and hold the • + pad on the control
panel to turn the volume up.
Touch and hold the • - pad on the control
panel to turn the volume down.
Playback control
You can use the touchpads on the control panel
to control the source.
Touch the •
pad to switch the source
between play and pause.
Touch the • } pad to select the next track.
Touch the • { pad to select the previous
track.
Making phone calls
If you receive a call, touch the •
pad to
answer the call.
Touch the •
pad again when you want
to hang up.
NOTE: The Aux source will be automatically
selected when a cable is connected.
Set your personal audio player/computer •
to PLAY.
Set the listening volume to the level you want •
with the volume control on the source.
NOTE: The volume controls on the speaker are
disabled when playing from an AUX source.
When you have nished listening to the •
Aux in source, disconnect the cable and
Bluetooth audio will be re-selected.
