Unpacking and Inspection
Immediately upon receipt of the equipment, inspect the shipping container and the contents carefully for any discrepancies or damage. Should there be any, notify the freight company and the dealer at once.

DO NOT RETURN ANY EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY TO THE FACTORY WITHOUT OBTAINING A RETURN AUTHORIZATION. Be prepared to provide the company name, address, phone number, a person to contact regarding the repair, the type and quantity of equipment, a description of the problem and the serial number(s).
Shipping to Manufacturer for Repair or Adjustment
All shipments of Audiocom products should be made via United Parcel Service or the best available shipper, prepaid. The equipment should be shipped in the original packing carton; if that is not available, use any suitable container that is rigid and of adequate size. If a substitute container is used, the equipment should be wrapped in paper and surrounded with at least four inches of excelsior or similar shock absorbing material. All shipments must be sent to the following address and must include the Return Authorization:

General Description
The LCU-3 communication unit, is a simple accessory allowing three people to communicate in full-duplex mode (i.e., talking and listening at the same time). With two headsets, it covers all situations where up to three people are working closely together as a team to complete some critical task
The LCU-3 communication unit is used with the Groundcom Headset 2002 which offers optimum hearing protection with the critical clarity needed to communicate in the airline maintenance environment.

OPERATION
All workers who are connected to the LCU-3 communica­tion unit and use the GroundCom headset 2002 must use the PTT (push-to-talk) feature to enable their mic.
System Power
The LCU-3 communication unit is powered by a 9 Volt rechargable battery (see figure 1). It can also be powered externally through the AUX connector

Controls and Connections
1&2. Headset connectors: The headset connector
takes a 6.35mm stereo plug. When the headset is plugged into the unit, the unit automatically turns on. Conversely, when the headset is unplugged, it turns off.
3. Power ON LED: The power ON LED lights green when power is active in the product.
