Quick-Start Guide for T-Mobile BlackBerry
Data Plan Requirements
T-Mobile BlackBerry devices require a data plan to use TeleNav GPS Navigator. Look for the TeleNav Virtual
Preload icon in Step 1 of the “Downloading TeleNav GPS Navigator” section below if you already have a data
plan.
If you don't see the TeleNav Virtual Preload Icon, please do the following:
1. Launch the Blackberry Browser.
NOTE: This is the Earth Icon and not the T-Zones browser. If you select the T-Zones browser, you will
download the regular-subscription version of TeleNav without the free trial period. This service will not
work if you do not have a proper data plan.
2. Under Carrier Bookmarks, select the TeleNav Bookmark to launch the 14-Day Free Trial.
If you cannot find either the TeleNav Virtual Preload icon or the TeleNav Bookmark, you may not have
the required type of BlackBerry data plan. You can optionally try these steps to download TeleNav:
1. Go to Options >> Advanced Options >> Host Routing Table.
2. Press the Menu key and then click on Register Now.
3. If you have the required BlackBerry data plan, the icon or bookmark will appear after a few minutes.
Downloading TeleNav GPS Navigator
Follow the steps below to download TeleNav GPS Navigator application onto your BlackBerry.
1. Select the TeleNav Virtual Preload icon on the
BlackBerry Main Menu or the TeleNav bookmark in
BlackBerry Browser >> Carrier Bookmarks.

2. The invitation screen appears. Scroll down and choose the link, “Click here to try it for free!”
3. On the registration screen, type in your phone number and email address.
4. Follow the link that you received via SMS to “Download TeleNav GPS Navigator.”

5. Click Download on the Download Summary screen and follow the
instructions to download and install TeleNav GPS Navigator. If you
are eligible for the free trial, you will receive a Password in a text
message from TeleNav during this process (standard messaging
rates will apply).
NOTE: You can download the application while waiting to receive your
password, but you will not be able to run TeleNav GPS Navigator without
the password.
OPTIONAL: If you choose to cancel the download and try again later, click
on Cancel. You will lose any progress up to this point.
Running TeleNav GPS Navigator
After the download is complete, you can run TeleNav GPS Navigator.
1. Find the TeleNav icon on the BlackBerry Main Menu and launch it.
2. The first time you attempt to launch TeleNav GPS Navigator, you will
be asked to grant access (several times). You should grant access at
each prompt.
3. You will be presented with the Language menu. Use the trackball to
choose your language preference.

4. Review the TeleNav Terms of Use and click the trackball if you wish to
continue. Then click Accept & Login.
5. Correct your phone number if necessary and enter your Password
(that you received via SMS). Then click the trackball to login. If you
have not received a Password, call TeleNav Customer Support at
1-888-353-6284 for assistance.
6. The TeleNav Warning screen appears. If you agree to the terms, click
OK to continue.

7. The TeleNav GPS Navigator Main Menu appears. Use the trackball to
select the TeleNav feature you would like to use.
14-Day Trial and Subscription Service
Two days before your 14-day trial ends, you will receive a “WAP Push
Alert” warning you that your trial is about to expire.
If you wish to subscribe to TeleNav GPS Navigator and continue using the
service, then do the following steps:
1. Highlight the URL in the message and press the Menu key.
2. Click on Get Link or Go To.

3. T-Zones will load, and the product detail screen for TeleNav GPS
Navigator will appear.
4. Click Accept if you wish to continue service. Your subscription is
now active.
5. When the next screen appears (as depicted on the right), do not
click the trackball or navigate away from this screen. The Download
Summary Screen will appear momentarily.
6. When prompted to download the application:
• Click Cancel if TeleNav is already installed on your
BlackBerry.
• Click on Download to download the application.
