Upgrade Kit Overview
This kit provides parts and instructions required to replace the hard disk drive
(HDD) adapter part number 679-6342-00. The new HDD adapter requires a new

Remove the existing hard disk drive and product label
1. Power off the instrument.
2. Loosen the thumb screws and remove the HDD assembly from the instrument.

4. If your HDD assembly has a removable product label on the top bracket,
remove the two thumbscrews from the HDD assembly and slide the product
label o
y off the top bracket with a flat-blade screwdriver.

5. Remove the four screws securing the HDD to the bottom bracket. Slide the
HDD out of the existing HDD adapter board.

Install the HDD into the new tray assembly
1. Connect your existing HDD to the new HDD adapter board (from this kit).
NOTE. Ensure the proper orientation of the connector board. Note that the solder
connections on the board are facing up when connected to the HDD.
2. Install the HDD and adapter board into the new bottom bracket.
a. Secure the H DD with the four screws provided.
b. Secure the adapter board with the two screws provided.
NOTE. If the adapter board is upside down, the HDD and adapter board will not
match the standoffs built into the bottom bracket.

6. Install the new HDD assembly into the instrument, and then tighten the thumb
screws to secure the drive in the instrument.
