Probe Buddyt
The Probe Buddy is the hands-free approach to high performance
probing. The Probe Buddy is a probe positioner that uses a weighted,
flexible arm to ease your workload when using popular T ektronix
low-profile active probes.
Your probe rests against opposing flat surfaces in the clamp on the
Probe Buddy . The weighted base holds the flexible arm in place.
T o use the Probe Buddy, refer to the illustration and do the
following:
1. Loosen the probe grip thumbscrew (1) on the Probe Buddy clamp.
NOTE. Some probe models require the pr obe grip thumbscrew to be
removed, so that the probe can slide into the clamp from the end.
2. Slide the probe into the flat area of the clamp.
3. Replace and/or gently tighten the thumbscrew.
4. Place the Probe Buddy base on a flat surface near the circuit to be
probed.
5. Bend the Probe Buddy arm to allow probe contact with the
circuit.
6. If necessary , adjust the probe angle by loosening the clamp angle
thumbscrew (2) and pivoting the clamp.
7. Tighten the thumbscrew and verify the probe is making contact
with the circuit.
