We are sure that the appliance you have purchased will fully satisfy your needs.

Before installing or using your new cooker
hood, please read this manual carefully and
follow the instructions in order to ensure optimum performance of the appliance for many
years.
Keep this instruction book in a safe place so
that you can consult it whenever necessary
and fulfil guarantee requirements.
Safety Instructions
Before using your cooker hood for the first
time, please take note of the installation and
connection instructions.
Do not use the hood if the power cable has
been damaged in any way or if the control switches shows visible signs of deterioration.
If the hood stops working, or operates abnormally, disconnect its power supply (unplug
from the mains) and get in touch with your
TEKA Technical Service.
Do not leave uncovered gas rings burning
under the hood.
Do not allow grease to accumulate on any part
of the hood, especially in the filter. THIS IS A
FIRE RISK.
Do not flambé under the hood.

Using your Hood
of the Appliance
Your cooker hood is equipped with:
A Sliding three-speed extractor fan control
B Light switch, for illumination with or wit-
hout fan operation
C On/off pilot lamp
D Hob lighting, located behind the extrac-
tor panel
E Filter located below the extractor fan
intake. Easy-to-remove for cleaning
F Filter support frame
This hood is designed for the external venting
of gases.

before First Use
Before connecting the hood to the electricity
mains, make sure that the mains voltage and
frequency correspond to the values indicated
on the rating label inside the hood. Select the desired extraction speed by sliding
the control switch on the hood’s front panel.
The extractor fan has three speed settings
and an on/off pilot light, which lights up when
the fan is operating at any of these speeds.

This is independent of the extractor fan motor,
thus allowing the hob lighting to be used irrespective of the extractor hood’s operating status.

Suggestions and
Recommendations
Cleaning and Maintenance
• Switch on the extractor fan a few minutes
before you start to cook (3 to 5 minutes)
in order to ensure that a steady air flow
has been established before cooking
fumes appear.
• Allow the extractor fan to run for several
minutes after you have finished cooking
(3 to 5 minutes) in order to expel all the
grease from the outlet duct. This prevents
the return of grease, smoke and smells.
BEFORE CARRYING OUT ANY CLEANING OR
MAINTENANCE OPERATION, ENSURE THAT
THE APPLIANCE IS DISCONNECTED FROM
THE MAINS SUPPLY.
Cleaning the filter
•Remove the filter by releasing its catches
(A).
•Take special care to prevent it from dropping.
• The filter can be cleaned either in a dishwasher (see note below) or by soaking it in
hot water to soften up the accumulated
greases. Special cleaning sprays can also
be used, taking care to protect non-metallic parts.
•After cleaning, allow the filter to dry.
N.B.: Cleaning the filter in a dishwasher with
strong detergents may blacken its metal surface without affecting its grease retention capacity.
Warning: Filters must be cleaned at least
once a month, depending on hood usage.
Cleaning the hood body
• It is recommended to use warm (approx.
40°C) soapy water and a damp cloth to clean the hood body, paying special attention
to the slots on the extractor grille. After
washing, dry thoroughly using a cloth that
does not leave fibres.
Warning:
• Do not use metal scouring pads.
• Do not use abrasive products which could
damage the metal surface.
• Do not scrape with sharp objects such as
knives, scissors, etc.
Grease will accumulate on the hood and in the
filters whenever you cook, regardless whether
or not the extractor fan is operating.

If Something Doesn’t Work
Changing light bulbs
• Remove the filter to access the light bulbs.
• Make sure that the hood has previously
been disconnected from the mains supply
and that the bulbs to be replaced are not
hot.
• The maximum bulb rating is 40 W.
Before calling the repair service, make the
following checks:

Before installing the hood, consult the requirements of the corresponding authorities concerning air and smoke extraction regulations.
Extracted air must not be channelled through
ducts used for exhaust fumes from appliances
powered by any form of energy other than electricity.
The room (kitchen) must be well ventilated if
the extractor hood is to be used at the same
time as other extractor fans or other appliances powered by any form of energy other than
electricity.
When the hood is to operate at the same time
as other appliances powered by any form of
energy other than electricity, the air output
pressure must not be more than 4 Pa (4 x 10
bar).
To ensure optimum hood performance, the
length of the venting duct should not exceed
FOUR metres and should not have more than
two right angles (90º).
If the hood is supplied without a lead for
mains connection (or if this is replaced), it
must be disconnected from the mains by
means of an omnipolar cut-off switch, with a
minimum contact separation of 3 mm at all
the poles, incorporated into the fixed installation.
Positioning in cabinet
Using the screws provided in the accessory
bag, bolt the hood to a wooden panel in which
the fitting opening has previously been cut.

The bottom of the hood must be positioned at
a minimum height of 65 cm above electric
hobs and 70 cm in the case of gas hobs. If
gas hob installation instructions indicate a
greater distance, this must be taken into
account.

mains using flexible cable. Rigid tubing should
not be used.

Vor dem Einbau oder der Benutzung bitten wir
Sie, die Bedienungsanweisung aufmerksam zu
lesen und die Hinweise genau zu befolgen,
damit Sie viele Jahre lang mit diesem Gerät
die bestmöglichen Ergebnisse erreichen.
Bewahren Sie die Bedienungsanleitung gut
auf, damit Sie diese später zu Rate ziehen
können und die Garantieanforderungen einhalten.
Sicherheitshinweise
Vor der erstmaligen Inbetriebnahme müssen
die Anweisungen für Installation und Anschluß
beachtet werden.
Setzen Sie die Abzugshaube nicht in Betrieb,
wenn das Netzkabel beschädigt oder angerissen ist oder das Gerät sichtbare Schäden an
den Bedienungselementen aufweist.
Wenn das Gerät nicht mehr oder nicht richtig
funktioniert, trennen Sie dieses vom Netz
(Stecker aus der Steckdose ziehen) und
benachrichtigen Sie den Kundendienst.
Die Gasbrenner der Kochstelle unterhalb der
Abzugshaube müssen im angezündeten
Zustand stets von einem Gefäß bedeckt sein.
Verhindern Sie die Ansammlung von Fettresten
an der Abzugshaube, insbesondere am Filter.
ES BESTEHT BRANDGEFAHR.
Flambieren Sie niemals unterhalb der
Abzugshaube.

Spezielle Anforderungen vor
der ersten Inbetriebnahme
Benutzung des Geräts
Die Abzugshauben sind ausgestattet mit:
A Schiebeschalter für die Absaugleistung
des Motors. Dieser gestattet die
Einstellung der Drehzahl in drei Stufen.
B Schalter für die Beleuchtung. Dieser ist
von der Motorfunktion unabhängig.
C Kontrolleuchte zur Betriebsanzeige
D Beleuchtung des Kochbereichs mit, hin-
ter der Streuscheibe, angeordneten
Glühlampen.
E Der Filter befindet sich am unteren Teil
der Abzugsfläche und ist zur Reinigung
leicht herausnehmbar.
F Filterrahmen und Halterung
Die Abzugshaube ist für die Ableitung von
Dunst oder Wrasen ins Freie ausgelegt.

Vor Anschluß der Dunstabzugshaube ans Netz
sind Spannung und Frequenz darauf zu überprüfen, ob sie mit den Angaben auf dem im
Inneren angebrachten Typenschild übereinstimmen.

Durch Betätigung des an der Vorderseite angeordneten Schiebeschalters wird die gewünschte Absaugleistung eingestellt. Der Motor der
Abzugshaube kann mit drei unterschiedlichen
Drehzahlen betrieben werden, eine
Kontrolleuchte leuchtet auf, wenn der Motor in
einer der drei Stufen läuft.

Empfehlungen
Reinigung und Pflege
• Die Dunstabzugshaube einige Minuten vor
Kochbeginn einschalten (zwischen 3 und
5 Minuten). Hierdurch wird eine kontinuierliche und stabile Luftströmung
erreicht, wenn die Dämpfe abzusaugen
sind.
•Die Dunstabzugshaube nach dem Kochen
einige Minuten (zwischen 3 und 5
Minuten) weiterlaufen lassen, damit
Fetteilchen aus der Abluftleitung vollständig nach außen transportiert werden. Auf
diese Weise wird das Rückströmen von
Fett, Dämpfen und Gerüchen verhindert.

Reinigung des filters
• Hängen Sie den Filter durch Betätigung der
Ver schlüsse (A) aus.
• Gehen Sie dabei vorsichtig vor, um ein
Herunterfallen des Filters zu vermeiden.
• Reinigen Sie den Filter entweder in der
Geschirrspülmaschine (siehe Hinweis)
oder tauchen Sie diesen in heißes Wasser,
bis sich die Fettreste aufgelöst haben. Sie
können den Filter auch mit einem speziellen fettlösenden Spray reinigen (hierbei
alle nichtmetallischen Teile abdecken).
• Nach der Reinigung den Filter sorgfältig
abtrocknen.
Hinweis: Durch Reinigung mit aggressiven
Spülmitteln im Geschirrspüler kann die metallische Filteroberfläche schwarz anlaufen, ohne
daß jedoch die Rückhaltefähigkeit für Fette
beeinträchtigt wird.
Reinigung des Gehäuses
der Abzugshaube
• Es wird die Verwendung warmer
Seifenlauge mit einer Temperatur von etwa
40°C empfohlen. Säubern Sie die
Abzugshaube mit einem mit der Lauge
befeuchteten Tuch und achten Sie besonders auf eine sorgfältige Reinigung der
Schlitze im Gerät. Trocknen Sie anschließend alle Flächen gründlich mit einem
nicht fasernden Tuch.
Achtung:
•Verwenden Sie keine metallischen
Scheuerschwämme.
•Verwenden Sie keine Scheuermittel, da diese die metallischen Flächen beschädigen
können.
•Verwenden Sie zum Kratzen keine scharfen
Gegenstände wie Messer oder Scheren
usw.

Achtung: Reinigen Sie den Filter je nach
Intensität der Nutzung mindestens einmal im
Monat.
Beachten Sie bitte, daß sich beim Kochen
auch dann Fettreste im Filter und in der
Abzugshaube ansammeln, wenn diese nicht
eingeschaltet ist.
