Connecting to the wrong voltage may cause irreversible damage to the iron and will invalidate the

• This iron must always be plugged into an earthed socket. If using a mains extension lead, ensure that it
is correctly rated (10A), with an earth.
• If the electrical cord becomes damaged, it must be immediately replaced by an Approved Service Centre
to avoid any danger.
• The appliance should not be used if it has fallen, if it has obvious damage, if it leaks or has functional
anomalies. Never dismantle your appliance: have it inspected by an Approved Service Centre, so as to
avoid any danger.
• Never immerse your iron in water !
• Do not unplug your appliance by pulling on the cord. Always unplug your appliance: before filling or
rinsing the reservoir, before cleaning it, after each use.
• Never leave the appliance unattended when it is connected to a power source; if it has not cooled down
for approximately 1 hour.
• Your appliance gives off steam, which may cause burns, especially when you are ironing on a corner of
your ironing board. Never direct the steam towards people or animals.
• Your iron should be used and placed on a stable surface. When you put your iron onto its iron rest, make
sure that the surface on which you put it is stable.
• This product has been designed solely for domestic use. Any inappropriate use or use contrary to the

Before first use
• Before using your iron with the steam function for the first time, we recommend
that you operate it in a horizontal position for a few moments, away from your
linen. Under the same conditions, press the Turbo button a few times.
• During the first few uses, a harmless odour and smoke may be given off. This has
no effect on the use of the iron and will disappear quickly.

Preparation
What water to use ?
• Your appliance has been designed to operate using untreated tap water.
However, it is necessary to operate the Self-Clean function regularly in order to
eliminate hard water deposits from the steam chamber.
• Heat concentrates the elements contained in water during evaporation.The
types of water listed below contain organic waste or mineral elements that can
cause spitting, brown staining, or premature wear of the appliance: water from
clothes dryers, scented or softened water, water from refrigerators, batteries or
air conditioners, pure distilled or demineralised water or rain water should not be
used in your Tefal iron.
Filling the water tank
Fill the tank up to the
“MAX”.

• Check that the Ultracord system is properly locked.
• Unplug your iron before filling it.
• Set the steam control to “0” – fig.1.
• Take the iron with one hand and tilt it slightly, with the nose of the soleplate
pointing down.
• To open the flap of the water tank, push the button – fig.2.
• Fill the tank up to the “MAX” line – fig.3.
• Close the flap of the water tank, until it clicks into place.
Use

• The thermostat light comes on. It will go out when the soleplate is hot enough

• Your iron heats up quickly: so begin by ironing fabrics that are ironed at low

Hold the iron a few

• Hang the garment on a hanger and hold the fabric slightly taut with one
hand.The steam is very hot, so you should always do this with the garment on a
hanger – never iron clothes which someone is wearing.
• Set the thermostat control to “MAX” – fig.8.
• Press the Turbo button repeatedly – fig.7 moving the iron from top to bottom
– fig.9, wait a couple of seconds between each use of the button.
Dry ironing
• Set the temperature for the fabric to be ironed.
• Set the steam control to “0” – fig.1.
• You may start ironing when the thermostat light goes out.
Extra Functions
Ultracord System (depending on model)
Your iron has been designed with the Ultracord system to prevent the steam cord
from dragging across the linen and creasing it while ironing. It also allows you to
handle the iron more easily. To use the Ultracord system:
• Turn the Lock-System ring and put the indicator on the position – fig.10.
• The Ultracord system opens out automatically. You can now plug in your
appliance and begin to iron.
• Each time you put your iron on its heel, the Ultracord system closes automatically
and opens out each time you pick the iron up again.
Integral anti-scale system (depending on model)
Your iron is equipped with an integral anti-scale system – fig.11. This system will help
to provide:
• a better ironing quality with a constant flow of steam,
• lasting performance from your appliance.
Auto-Stop safety feature (depending on model)
• The electronic system cuts off the electric power and the Auto-Stop warning
light flashes if the iron is left vertically on its heel for more than 8 minutes, or in
a horizontal position for more than 30 seconds – fig.12.
• To restart the iron, just move it gently until the warning light stops flashing.
Anti-drip function (depending on model)
When using the iron for
the first time, allow 2
minutes for steam to be
produced.
• If the soleplate temperature is too low, the iron will not produce steam because
of the anti-drip technology which prevents droplets of water leaking from the
soleplate.
For easier use, always
use the Ultracord

Maintenance and cleaning
Cleaning the anti-scale valve (once a month)
• Unplug your iron and empty the water tank.
• To remove the anti-scale valve, pull it up – fig.13.
• Soak the valve in a cup of white spirit vinegar or plain lemon juice for hours –
fig.14.
• Rinse the valve under running water.
• Replace the anti-scale valve.
The self-cleaning
function helps to slow
down scaling in your
iron.
In order to extend the
life of your iron, use the
Self-Cleaning function
once a month.

• Fill the tank of your iron with untreated tap water. Stand the iron on it’s heel with
the thermostat set to “Max” and heat it up.
• When the thermostat light goes out, unplug the iron and hold it in a horizontal
position, over a sink. Remove the anti-scale valve – fig.13.
• Shake the iron gently, over the sink, until some of the water in the water tank (with
the impurities) has flowed out through the soleplate – fig.15.
• At the end of the operation, push the anti-scale valve back into position.
• Unplug the iron, and when the soleplate is just warm, wipe it with a soft cloth.

Cleaning the soleplate
• While the soleplate is still slightly warm, clean it by wiping over it with a damp
non-metallic cloth.
Storing your iron
• Unplug the iron and wait for the soleplate to cool down.
• Close the Ultracord System and lock it by positionning the ring indicator
(depending on model) onto .
• Empty the water tank and set the steam control to “0”. A little water may remain
in the tank.
• Wind the cord around the heel at the back of the iron. Store the iron on its heel –
fig.16.

Avant la première utilisation
• Avant la première utilisation de votre fer en position vapeur, nous vous
recommandons de le faire fonctionner quelques instants en position horizontale
et en dehors de votre linge. Dans les mêmes conditions, actionnez plusieurs fois
la commande Turbo .
• Durant les premières utilisations, il peut se produire un dégagement de fumée et
une odeur sans nocivité. Ce phénomène sans conséquence sur l’utilisation
disparaîtra rapidement.

Préparation
Quelle eau utiliser ?
• Votre appareil a été conçu pour fonctionner avec l’eau du robinet. Il est
cependant nécessaire de procéder régulièrement à l’auto-nettoyage de la
chambre de vaporisation, afin d’éliminer le calcaire libre.
• N’utilisez jamais d’eau contenant des additifs (amidon, parfum, substances
aromatiques, adoucissant, etc.), ni de l’eau de batterie ou de condensation (par
exemple l’eau des séchoirs à linge, l’eau des réfrigérateurs, l’eau des
climatiseurs, l’eau de pluie). Elles contiennent des déchets organiques ou des
éléments minéraux qui se concentrent sous l’effet de la chaleur et provoquent
des crachements, des coulures brunes ou un vieillissement prématuré de votre
appareil.

Fonctions Plus
Système Ultracord (selon modèle)
Votre fer est équipé du système Ultracord pour éviter que le cordon ne traîne sur le
linge et ne le refroisse pendant le repassage. Il évite également que le cordon gêne
la main.
Pour utiliser le système Ultracord :
• Tournez la bague Lock-System et positionnez l’indice sur – fig.10.
• Le système Ultracord se déploie automatiquement. Vous pouvez désormais
brancher votre fer et repasser.
• A chaque fois que vous remettez le fer sur son talon, le système Ultracord s’intègre
dans celui-ci et s’ouvre automatiquement dès que vous reprenez votre fer.
Système Anti-Calcaire Intégré (selon modèle)
Votre fer vapeur est équipé d’un système anti-calcaire intégré – fig.11. Ce système
permet :
• une meilleure qualité de repassage : débit vapeur constant pendant toute la
durée du repassage.
• une performance durable de votre appareil.
Sécurité Auto-Stop (selon modèle)
• Le système électronique coupe l’alimentation et le voyant de l’auto-stop clignote
si le fer reste plus de 8 minutes immobile sur le talon ou plus de 30 secondes posé
à plat – fig.12.
• Pour remettre le fer en marche, il suffit de l’agiter légèrement jusqu’à ce que le
voyant ne clignote plus.
Fonction Anti-goutte (selon modèle)
A la première utilisation,
attendez 2 minutes pour
avoir de la vapeur.
• L’alimentation en eau est automatiquement coupée pour éviter que la semelle ne
“goutte”, quand la température du fer n’est plus suffisante pour produire de la
vapeur.
Nettoyage et entretien
Nettoyez la tige Anti-Calcaire (une fois par mois)
• Débranchez votre fer et videz le réservoir.
• Pour ôter la tige anti-calcaire, tirez-la vers le haut – fig.13.
• Laissez tremper la tige pendant 4 heures dans un verre de vinaigre d’alcool blanc
ou bien du jus de citron nature – fig.14.
• Rincez la tige sous l’eau du robinet.
• Remettez la tige anti-calcaire en place.
L’auto-nettoyage
permet de retarder
l’entartrage de votre
fer.
Pour prolonger la durée
de vie de votre fer,
faites un autonettoyage une fois par
mois.
• Laissez chauffer votre fer, réservoir plein, sur son talon (thermostat au maximum).
• Lorsque le voyant s’éteint, débranchez le fer et placez-le au-dessus d’un évier.
Enlevez la tige anti-calcaire – fig.13.
• Secouez le fer légèrement et horizontalement, au-dessus d’un évier, jusqu’à ce
qu’une partie de l’eau (avec les impuretés) se soit écoulées par la semelle – fig.15.
• A la fin de l’opération, replacez la tige anti-calcaire.
• Rebranchez votre fer 2 minutes sur son talon pour sécher la semelle.
Faites un auto-nettoyage (Self Clean)
Utilisez toujours le
système Ultracord
pour un meilleur
confort d’utilisation.
Quand la sécurité

Nettoyez la semelle
• Lorsque la semelle est encore tiède, nettoyez-la avec un tampon non-métallique
humide.
N’utilisez jamais de
produits agressifs ou
abrasifs.
• Débranchez-le et attendez que la semelle refroidisse.
• Refermez le système Ultracord et bloquez-le en positionnant l’indice de la bague
Lock-System (selon modèle) sur .
• Videz le réservoir et placez la commande vapeur sur “0”. Un peu d’eau peut rester
dans le réservoir.
• Enroulez le cordon autour de l’arceau arrière du fer. Rangez le fer sur son talon –
fig.16.

Vous avez mal refermé la trappe du
réservoir.
Le curseur de commande vapeur n’est
pas sur la position “0”.
Le réservoir n’est pas assez rempli. Rajoutez de l’eau dans le réservoir.
Placez le thermostat sur la zone colorée (de
•• à MAX).
Attendez que le voyant s’éteigne.
Attendez quelques secondes entre chaque
utilisation.
Consultez le chapitre «Rangez votre fer».
N’ajoutez aucun produit détartrant à l’eau du
réservoir.

Faites un auto-nettoyage. Nettoyez la semelle
avec une éponge non métallique. Aspirez de
temps en temps les trous de la semelle.
Nettoyez la semelle comme indiqué plus haut.
Consultez le tableau des températures pour
régler le thermostat.

Pulvérisez l’amidon à l’envers de la face à
repasser.

Posez toujours votre fer sur son talon.
Vérifiez que la trappe du réservoir est bien
fermée (jusqu’au “clic”).
Vérifiez que la commande vapeur est sur la
position “0”.
