Read these instructions. Keep these instructions. Heed all warnings. Follow all instructions. Do not use this apparatus near water. Clean only with a slightly damp cloth. Use this appliance only with the supplied AC Adaptor. Using non-approved power supplies will void the warranty. Mains Supply: The mains operating voltage of the AC Adaptor is marked on a rating plate on the AC Adaptor. The means of disconnecting this appliance from the mains supply is the AC adaptor. This should be unobstructed and readily operable at all times.
Refer all servicing to qualied service personnel. PRELIMINARIES INTRODUCTION
The CR129 is a stylish digital picture frame with built-in FM radio and alarm clock. In addition to showing a slideshow of digital photos, the versatile, variable brightness display window includes an easy-to-read display of time, date, alarm settings and radio frequency .
UNPACKING
Carefully unpack the unit. If it is damaged, please return it to your nearest Tesco store for replacement. Remember to take your purchase receipt with you. Retain the User Handbook. If you pass the unit on to a third party make sure you pass on the handbook. We suggest you retain the packaging. If you dispose of it, do so having regard to any recycling regulations in your area.

GETTING STARTED
FM AERIAL
Before using the radio for FM reception, unwrap and fully extend the aerial wire. In use, you may need to adjust the position of the aerial wire for maximum signal strength.
CONNECTING POWER
Before connecting the power, check that the mains voltage on the rating plate of the AC adaptor is the same as the voltage in your area.
Plug the DC cord from the AC adaptor into the DC jack on • the back of the unit. Plug the AC adaptor into the wall socket and switch the • mains power on.
The unit is now ready for use.
NOTE:- The AC adaptor may become warm during operation
- this is normal. When rst connected, the clock display will appear at the default start time and date.
ADJUSTING THE VOLUME
To increase or decrease the radio volume:
Rotate the volume wheel on the side of the unit. •
LISTENING TO FM RADIO
To select radio mode:
Press the • RADIO button.
The information pane on the display will switch to show the current time and radio frequency.
To scan for a station:
Press and • hold the P or O button to start the scan up or down the band.
Tha radio will scan the band and stop at the next station found. The frequency will be displayed.
To tune manually to a station:
Press the • P or O button briey to tune up or down the band in steps of 0.1MHz.
When you have nished listening to the radio:
Press the • CLOCK or PHOTO button to switch o the radio and display the clock or full-screen photos.
STATION PRESETS
You can store up to 20 of your favourite stations as presets for quick recall.
To store a preset:
Tune to the station you want to save.• Press the • OK button.
The preset number displayed will ash.
Press the • M or N button to select the preset number you want to save. Press the • OK button to store this preset number.
To browse the preset stations:
Press the • M or N button to step through the station presets.
The selected preset number will display and the stored station will play.
AUTO-STORE
Your radio can also scan the band automatically for all stations of a suitable strength and store them as presets.
To start auto-store:
While the radio is playing, press the • MENU button to display the radio Auto Program menu.
‘Radio Auto Program menu’ will be highlighted.
Press the • P button to highlight ‘Start’. Press the • OK button to start the scan.
The radio will scan the FM band and store all found stations as presets.
NOTE:- The Auto-Store function will erase all presets previously stored.
DISPLAY BRIGHTNESS
The display brightness can be set to one of four options - o, dim, medium, bright.
To change the display brightness:
Press the • SNOOZE/BRIGHTNESS CONTROL button repeatedly to cycle through the available options..
Auto light sensor:
A light sensitive eye on the front panel can be enabled to automatically switch o the backlight at night. Refer to the Set-Up Menu section on page 9 for instructions to switch the sensor on or o.

The time and date are set through the Set-up menu. To open the Set-up Menu:
Press the • CLOCK button.
Clock mode is set.
Press the • MENU button.
The Set-up menu screen will open.
The top three options are available to adjust time and date settings (Set Time, Set Date, Clock Mode 12 hour/24 hour).
To select the setting you want to change:
Press the • M or N button until the setting you want to change is highlighted.
To change a highlighted setting:
Press the • P button to move to the right pane and highlight the numbers you want to change. Press the • M or N button to change the numbers.
NOTE:- The format for date setting in the menu is MM/DD/ YYY Y. For example - to set January 29th 2009 set -
01-29-2009.
When you have nished changing a setting:
Press the • OK button to navigate back to the left pane and select another setting to change, or press the MENU
button to save changes and exit the setup menu. NOTE:- Your picture frame includes a back-up feature to retain clock, calendar and alarm settings for up to 7 days in the event of a power cut. Details of other options available from the Set-up menu are available on page 9.
SETTING THE TIME AND DATE
The clock function of your picture frame includes two alarms. You can activate either or both at dierent times, and with dierent wake-up modes.
To check the time currently set for Alarm 1:
Press the • CLOCK button.
The clock will be displayed.
If the Alarm 1 time is not displayed (display reads --:--), • press the ALARM1 button to show the Alarm1 time.
To change the time setting for Alarm 1:
When the alarm time is displayed, press and • hold the ALARM1 button until the Alarm 1 hours digits ash.
Press the • M or N button to increase or decrease the Alarm 1 hour setting to the correct number. When the hour digits are set correctly, press the • P button to highlight the minutes digits. Press the • M or N button to increase or decrease the Alarm 1 minute setting to the correct number. When the minute digits are set correctly, press the •
ALARM1 or OK button to exit alarm setting.
Checking and setting the time for Alarm 2:
Follow the steps listed above to set Alarm 2, but pressing • the ALARM2 button in place of ALARM1.
Changing the wake-up mode or alarm repeat settings:
Refer to the Set-up menu section on page 9 for • instructions to change the wake-up mode (waking up to radio or a sound-eect) or the alarm repeat setting (alarm sounds daily or weekdays only).
SETTING THE ALARM TIMES
If you want to wake up to either or both alarms, you must activate the alarm(s) required before going to bed.
To activate the alarms:
If the clock is not displayed, press the • CLOCK button. Press the • ALARM1 or ALARM2 button briey.
The alarm will switch on or o and the alarm bell symbol will change colour - gold when the alarm is set, silver when not set. The alarm time currently set and wake-up mode (radio or sound-eect) will also be displayed.
NOTE:- If you have set radio as a wake-up mode, always check that the radio is tuned to a station and that the volume control is set to a high enough level to wake you before setting the alarm when you go to bed. All other wake-up modes will wake you with an increasing volume level.
When the alarm wakes you:
The alarm will wake you with your chosen alarm sound at the alarm time set. When the alarm sounds you can choose to set snooze mode to delay the alarm for 9 more minutes or you can stop the alarm sounding until the next alarm time.
To set Snooze mode:
Press the • ALARM1, SNOOZE or ALARM2 button.
The alarm will stop, and the alarm wake-up mode indicator will ash to indicate that snooze is set. The alarm will then sound again after the snooze period of 9 minutes. I f you want to sleep longer, you can repeatedly set snooze mode.
To stop the alarm:
Press any button except • ALARM1, SNOOZE or ALARM2.
The alarm will stop sounding until the next alarm time.
USING THE ALARM

Your picture frame can display photos stored in the following memory stores -
On a compatible Flash Card (SD/MMC/MS) as used in •
most digital cameras.
On a USB Drive• .
Non-removable Internal memory.• If there is no Flash Card or USB drive loaded, the display will show photos from the Internal memory (or the ‘Technika’ logo if there are no photos loaded into the Internal memory). When an external Flash memor y photo store is loaded, a slideshow of the photos from this store will automatically begin. This slideshow will continue, even if you insert ash memory into the other Flash memory slot.
Selecting from a dierent photo store:
If a ash memory store is loaded, press the SOURCE button repeatedly to view photos stored on the ash memories in the sequence -
VIEWING PHOTOS SLIDESHOW CONTROL
You can also display your photos using the full screen of the Picture Frame display.
To switch to full-screen photo display:
Press the • PHOTO button.
The slideshow will now ll the screen of the Picture Frame.
NOTE:-The alarm will continue to function when a full-screen slideshow is displayed. NOTE:- The radio cannot be played at the same time as a full­screen photo slideshow.
SLIDESHOW CONTROL Stopping the slideshow:
While the slideshow is running, press the • OK button.
The slideshow will stop, displaying the current photo.
Changing to another photo:
Press the • O or P button to select the previous or next photo in the slideshow sequence.
Rotating a photo:
Press the • N button repeatedly.
The photo displayed will rotate 90 ° with each press. NOTE:- The photo will return to normal orientation when the slideshow continues.
Re-starting the slideshow:
Press the • OK button to switch to thumbnail mode. Follow the instructions in the next section from • ‘Navigating to a picture’ to choose a photo and re-star t the slideshow.
To load a compatible Flash Card:
Gently insert the Flash Card into the Flash Card slot on the • side of the unit. If the Flash Card is marked with an arrow
this should be aligned to the back of the unit. NOTE:- Flash Cards are polarised and can only be inserted one way round. If the Flash Card will not load easily you may need to reverse it. Never force a Flash Card into the Card Reader slot.
LOADING FLASH MEMORY
To connect a USB ash drive:
Insert the drive into the USB jack on the side of the unit.• NOTE: Most USB Mass storage devices are supported by the USB connection including Flash drives, Memory sticks, Jump drives etc. If your Mass storage device requires a battery/ power source, ensure that the battery is tted/charged before connection.

INTERNAL MEMORY
The internal memory has the capacity to store 10 photos.
To copy a picture from a Flash Card or USB drive to the internal memory:
Press the • SOURCE button to select the ash memory that contains the photo. Wait for the photo to be shown in the slideshow (or • navigate to the photo using Thumbnail mode, then start the slideshow). Press the • M button. The Save Photo Dialog will be displayed with ‘YES’ • highlighted. Press the • O or P button to select the ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ option from the save dialog. Press the • OK button to choose the selected option.
If you choose ‘Yes’, there will be a short delay while the photo is copied to the internal memory, then the slideshow will continue.
Deleting photos from the internal memory:
Press the SOURCE button to select a display of photos from the internal memory. When the photo you want to delete is displayed, press the M button.
The Delete Photo Dialog will be displayed with ‘YES’ • highlighted. Press the • O or P button to select the ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ option from the dialog. Press the • OK button to choose the selected option.
The photo will be deleted from the internal memory.
SLEEP TIMER
The Sleep Timer will switch o the backlight (and radio when playing) after a preset ‘sleep’ period.
To set the sleep timer:
Press the • SLEEP button repeatedly to select the Sleep time required. The clock display at the top left of the screen will change • to show the Sleep time counting down and the radio will switch o (if playing). If you want the radio to play through the Sleep period, • switch it on.
When the Sleep time has counted down to 0 minutes, the Picture Frame display will switch o, also the radio if playing.
To switch the display on again:
Select RADIO, CLOCK or PHOTO mode.•
To cancel the sleep timer once set:
Press the • SLEEP button repeatedly until the Sleep display reads ‘OFF’.
THUMBNAIL BROWSE
You can choose to display all photos from the photo store as thumbnails so you can nd a photo that you want to display.
Selecting thumbnail browse mode:
While a full-screen slideshow is running, press the • OK button to stop the slideshow. Press the • OK button again to switch to Thumbnail mode.
The display will show the photos from the slideshow. The border of the last photo displayed will ash yellow.
Navigating to a picture:
Press the • M, N, O, P buttons to navigate to the picture you want to display.
The ashing yellow border will move as you scroll through the pictures.
To move to another page of photos:
If there are multiple pages of pictures, navigate up from • the top line of photos or down from the bottom line of photos to view the next page.
Returning to the slideshow:
Press the • OK button to return to the slideshow, starting with the highlighted photo.

SET-UP MENU
The Set-up menu enables you to congure your picture frame to your requirements.
To open the Set-up menu:
Select CLOCK or PHOTO mode.• Press the • MENU button.
The Set-up menu screen will be displayed. The Set-up options available are listed below -
To navigate the Set-up options.
Press the • M or N button to scroll through the options listed.
To change an option:
Scroll to the option you want to change.• Press the • P button. Press the • M or N button to change the option setting. Press the • OK button to save the changes and move back to the options list. Press the • M or N button to scroll to another option or press the MENU button to exit the Set-up menu.
Set Time: Select this option to set the time on the clock of your unit.
Set Date: Select this option to set the date on the clock of your unit.
Clock Mode: Select this option to switch the clock between 12 hour (with A.M. and P.M. indication) and 24 hour display.
Alarm 1 Sound: Choose the wake-up sound mode for Alarm
1. A demonstration of each sound will play as you change between the sounds available.
Alarm 2 Sound: Choose the wake-up sound mode for Alarm
2.
Alarm 1 Repeat: Select ‘Daily’ to enable Alarm 1 to sound every day. Choose ‘Workdays’ to enable the alarm to sound from Monday to Friday only.
Alarm 2 Repeat: Select ‘Daily’ to enable Alarm 2 to sound every day. Choose ‘Workdays’ to enable the alarm to sound from Monday to Friday only.
Light Sensor: Switch on the Light Sensor to automatically switch o the display when the room is dark at night. NOTE: If you want to read the time at night and the display is switched o, press the SNOOZE/BRIGHTNESS CONTROL button to switch the display back on for one minute (the light sensor is disabled during this period).
Wall Paper: Changing the Wall Paper setting will change the background colour of the display screens. Choose from black, blue or red.
Brightness: You can set the default brightness of the display in the range -3 to +3.
Slideshow Eect: You can choose the slideshow transition eect with this setting. The options are Random (the transition eect changes for each slide transition), No Eect, Blind Vertical, Blind Horizontal, Colour Ration Vertical, Colour Ration Horizontal, Fade In Fade Out.
Slideshow Interval: This setting will change the time that each picture remains on the screen during the slideshow.
Display Format: When set to ‘Normal’, each photo will display in it’s original proportions. Set to ‘Wide’ to use the full screen area for all photos.
Default: Choose ‘Reset’ to return all menu options to ‘Factory Original’ settings. NOTE:- This will not erase photos in the Internal memory.
Radio Auto Program: Choose this option to star t a search of the radio band for available stations. The stations will be stored in sequence as presets. NOTE:- Existing radio presets will be erased.

CARE AND CLEANING
Care and cleaning operations should be carried out with the unit unplugged from the mains.
Clean the plastic parts with a barely damp cloth and then dry care­fully.
Do NOT touch the screen with bare ngers, hard or pointed objects. Clean the screen carefully with a special cloth, such as a Calotherm cloth available from chemists and opticians.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Poor quality radio reception
The aerial signal may not be adequate. Try repositioning the aerial while listening to a station.
Alarm not sounding
Check that the alarm has been activated. When the alarm is on, the Alarm time will be displayed.
Alarm not sounding when the wake-up mode is set to radio:
Check that the volume control is turned up to a suitable level and the radio is tuned to a station.
Alarm not sounding on Saturday or Sunday:
The Alarm Repeat setting may be set to ‘Workdays’. This can be changed to ‘Daily’ in the Set-up menu.
Photos will not display:
The photos may not be JPEG format. Check the format of the photos you are trying to view. If the photos are high resolution the les may be too large to display. Try reducing the resolution of the photos.
