SurCode for Dolby Digital Licensed
Dolby AC-3 audio encoding licenses are available from Minnetonka Audio at
Distributors/Dealers/Users can purchase a hardware dongle containing the
number of licenses required for the installation.
Pass-through Dolby professional encoder fee of $10/audio stream (mono).

Once purchased, licenses can be configured for each dongle via a customer log-in page. This facilitates multiple dongle purchases each containing a different amount of licenses.

Installing Audio Transcoder
PC Hardware Guidelines
A single 2.4GHz quad-core processor with 4GB of RAM is capable of
transcoding approximately 50 channels of DIRECTV content.
For channel counts between 50 and 100, Technicolor recommends a
dual, quad-core machine similar to a Dell 2950 Gen III with a minimum of 8GB of RAM.

Audio Transcoder Operation
COM24/COM24-FLX/COM46/COM46-FLX
Set video destination to PC’s IP address with a destination port of 9000
+ the desired QAM destination port. In this example, the PC address is
192.168.3.200 and the desired QAM destination port is 17.
Hint: It’s recommended to use the tune-all feature of the COM system in
order to quickly tune and retune video on all the receivers.

Audio Transcoder Operation
1) Make sure License dongle is plugged into the PC running Audio Transcoder
2) Start Audio Transcoder and click on the Settings tab to set up
Enter the IP Address of one of the COM cards
Enter the QAM’s IP Address
Select Mono or Stereo

Click Save Settings to save & exit

Audio Transcode will automatically discover all the COM cards in a
system and display these channels in a table format
Start Monitor = Starts all checked channels Stop Monitor = Stops all checked channels
Check All

Click on check boxes to enable/disable Audio Transcode
Start or stop streams individually
