Hybridiser tube care and maintenance

Hybridisation tubes

The hybridisation tubes are manufactured from durable thick borosilicate glass with a non-drip
design. The tubes must be checked regularly and replaced if any damage occurs. Any damage to
the ends of the tubes can cause them to break or leak when the end caps are inserted.

Large (80mm diameter) tube assembly (FHB12, FHB16)

The O ring seals on the hybridisation tubes must be checked regularly and replaced before a leak
occurs. Each tube is provided with 6 spare O rings and further O rings can be obtained from Bibby
Scientific Ltd. or your Techne dealer.

A small quantity of Techne O-ring grease (part code 6101351, supplied with the Hybridisation
oven) must be smeared on the seal to facilitate the insertion of the end caps.

Large tubes are supplied with seals suitable for use up to 70°C. For higher temperatures, seals
part number 6101488 is required.
