Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a
replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You
are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not
amount to a major failure.

1. TEAC warrants that this product is free from defects in material and workmanship under normal domestic use with reasonable care and skill.
Maintenance and cleaning (i.e. laser head) is not covered by this warranty. The TEAC warranty only applies to TEAC products purchased
NEW from a TEAC Authorised Retailer in Australia. This warranty only applies to the original purchaser and cannot be transferred.

2. The benefits to the consumer given by this Warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies of the consumer under a law in relation to
goods or services to which the warranty relates, being the Australian Consumer Law.

3. Refund or replacement via your TEAC Authorised Retailer is available for a period of 14 days after purchase for goods that have been
inspected and determined to have a major failure. Refund and exchange is not applicable for change of mind.

4. Subject to the terms herein, this warranty effectively covers TEAC products, excluding products purchased for commercial purposes, as
specified in the Warranty Periods Table below from the date of purchase. Commercial use products are covered for 12 months only
(Authorised Service Centre).

5. In Home Service/Pick up* Service
This service will only be provided as part of this warranty if all the following conditions are met;
a) The product is indicated in the Warranty Period Table.
b) The product is within the warranty period.
c) The product is located within the normal service area of the local TEAC Authorised Service Centre.
If TEAC determines that the product is not repairable on site, TEAC can complete the repair by taking the product to a TEAC Authorised
Service Centre.

Authorised Service Centre Service
The purchaser is required to send the product at their own expense to the nearest TEAC Authorised Service Centre for repair. In this event,
proof of purchase is required to support a warranty claim. After the repair, the product will be available for collection by or return to the
purchaser at a fee upon request. TEAC in-home service can be made available at a fee upon request.

6. A 12-month replacement warranty is applicable to all Accessories such as Remotes, Power Adapters and Cables.

7. TEAC will ensure to the best of its abilities that all required parts are made available for any required service/repair.

8. TEAC Australia Pty Ltd and its Authorised Service Centres will use their best endeavours to complete product repairs within a reasonable
period based on available resources and workload during the time when service is requested and performed.

9. Refurbished parts may be used to repair the product. In the case of a replacement, the product may be replaced, with a refurbished unit of the
same type or, if one is unavailable, a similar refurbished model with equal or better features and specifications.

10. Please be advised that if the product presented for repair is capable of retaining user-generated data, the data may be lost during servicing.
Customers are strongly encouraged to back up all important information/data before sending the product in for service/repair.

11. Service will be provided only during normal business hours and under safety conditions and circumstances. TEAC and its authorised service
agents can refuse any repair if safety, in relation to OH&S, becomes a concern to its staff or authorised service agents’ personnel.

12. The warranty is void and warranty claims may be refused, subject to the Australian Consumer Law, if:

a) The product was not transported, installed, operated or maintained according to manufacturer instruction, or
b) The product was abused, damaged, tampered, altered or repaired by any unauthorised persons, or
c) Product failure is due to accidents during use, installation or transit, power surges, use of defective or incompatible external devices, exposure

to abnormal conditions such as excessive temperatures or humidity, or entry of liquids, objects or creatures into the product, cockroach
infestations, or

d) The customer is unable to provide proof of purchase of the product for verification, or
e) The serial number of the product is missing or has been tampered with.

13. Where any repairs or services required that are outside of the terms and conditions of this Warranty are requested by the customer, or where
a fault is determined to be outside of the terms and conditions of the Warranty during an In-Home Service call, the customer shall be charged
for the cost of the repair and/or the In-Home service call fee.

14. No one is authorised to assume any liability on behalf of TEAC or impose any obligation on it, in connection with the sale of any equipment
other than as stated in this warranty and outlined above.

15. TEAC and/or its Authorised Service Centres reserve the right to inspect and verify whether the product is exhibiting a major failure as claimed
by customers/retailers.

Safety Precautions

To achieve the utmost in enjoyment and performance, and in order to become familiar with its
features, please read this manual carefully before attempting to operate the unit, this will
assure you years of faithful, trouble free performance and listening pleasure.

Important Notes

• This safety and operating instruction should be retained for future reference.

• The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and that no objects filled

with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on apparatus.

• Avoid installing the unit in locations described below:

o Places exposed to direct sunlight or close to heat radiating appliances such

as electric heaters.

o On top of other stereo equipment that radiate too much heat.
o Places blocking ventilation or dusty places.
o Places subject to constant vibration.
o Humid or moist places.

• No naked flame sources such as lighted candles should be placed on or near the unit.

• The use of apparatus in moderate climates.

• Operate turning controls and switches as instructed in the manual.

• Before turning on the power for the first time, make sure the power cord is properly

installed.

For safety reasons, do not remove any covers or attempt to gain access to the inside of the
product. Refer any servicing to qualified personnel.
Do not attempt to remove any screws, or open the casing of the unit; there are no user
serviceable parts inside, refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.

CAUTION: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK DO NOT REMOVE COVER
(OR BACK), NO USER SERVICEABLE PARTS INSIDE, REFER SERVICING TO
QUALIFIED SERVICE PERSONNEL.

Dangerous Voltages, that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of
electric shock to persons is present within this product’s enclosure.

The owner’s manual contains important operating and maintenance
instructions, for your safety, it is necessary to refer to the manual.

WARNING: TO PREVENT FIRE OR SHOCK HAZARD, DO NOT EXPOSE THIS
APPLIANCE TO DRIPPING OR SPLASHING.

Note: This unit will become warm when used for a long period of time. This is normal and
does not indicate a problem with the unit.

Safety Information

Some Do’s And Don’ts On the Safe Use Of Equipment

This equipment has been designed and manufactured to meet international safety standards
but, like any electrical equipment, care must be taken if you are to obtain the best results and
safety is to be assured.

DO read the operating instructions before you attempt to use the equipment.

DO ensure that all electrical connections (including the mains plug, extension leads and inter-

connections between the pieces of equipment) are properly made and in accordance with the
manufacturer’s instructions. Switch off and withdraw the mains plug before making or
changing connections.

DO consult your dealer if you are ever in doubt about the installation, operation or safety of
your equipment.

DON’T remove any fixed cover as this may expose dangerous voltages.

Overheating will cause damage and shorten the life of the equipment.

DON’T allow electrical equipment to be exposed to dripping or splashing, or objects filled with
liquids, such as vases, to be placed on the equipment.

DON’T place hot objects or naked flame sources such as lighted candles or nightlights on, or
close to equipment. High temperatures can melt plastic and lead to fires.

DON’T use equipment such as personal stereos or radios so that you are distracted from the
requirements of traffic safety.

DON’T listen to headphones at high volume, as such use can permanently damage your
hearing.

DON’T leave equipment switched on when it is unattended unless it is specifically stated that
it is designed for unattended operation. Switch off using the switch on the equipment and
make sure that your family knows how to do this. Special arrangements may need to be made
for infirm or handicapped people.

DON’T continue to operate the equipment if you are in any doubt about if it’s working normally
or if it’s damaged in any way. Switch it off and withdraw the mains plug and consult your
dealer.

ESD Remark: In case of malfunction due to electrostatic discharge just reset the product
(reconnection of power source may be required) to resume normal operation.

Headphone

Socket:

a. A 3.5mm Headphone Socket located on the rear of your radio is

provided for use with either headphones or an earpiece.

b. Inserting a plug automatically mutes the internal loudspeaker.

Line out

socket:

a. Red/Black RCA Line out sockets located on the rear of your radio is

provided for connecting the audio signal to an external amplifier.

b. Inserting a line out audio cable will not mute the internal loudspeaker.

c. Set the volume control to minimum if desired.

AUX IN

socket

a. 3.5mm auxiliary input jack for connecting external audio devices.

DAB MODE

Turning on the DAB radio

1. Extend the antenna found on top of the radio, then press STANDBY/ON to switch it on.

2. Upon initial use, the radio will make a full scan and store the stations in its memory. This will

take a while, please be patient.

Later, it will say:

@ Note: a. the DAB stations will be displayed in alphanumeric order. The first station in the list will

be selected.

b. If no DAB signal is found, it may be necessary for you to relocate your radio.

3. Turn the Scroll knob to cycle through the station list. When the desired station is displayed,

press the knob to select it.

4. To find and add new stations, please refer to the following instructions.

Finding and adding new Stations

@ Note: For maximum signal reception, it is highly recommended to place the unit at a place with

low interference.

1. First, press MENU.

2. Turn the Scroll knob to < full scan >.

3. Press the Scroll knob to confirm.

Now, the radio will scan all the DAB channels and add any new stations available to the

station list.

DAB Menu Options

Manual Tune

1. First, press MENU.

2. Turn the Scroll knob to < Manual tune >.

3. Press the Scroll knob to confirm. The display will show the channel number and

frequency list.

4. Turn the Scroll knob to scroll through the channels and press it to select the current

channel.

@ Note: If there is a multiplex corresponding to this channel and frequency, then the display will show

a tuning meter with the signal strength and the multiplex name after a few seconds.

5. Press the Scroll knob to exit this operation.

DRC (Dynamic Range Control) value

You can set the level of the compression of stations to eliminate the differences in dynamic

range or sound level between radio stations.

@ Note: Setting DRC to off provides no compression, setting DRC to low provides little compression,

setting DRC to high provides maximum compression.

1. First, press MENU.

2. Turn the Scroll knob to <DRC>.

3. Press the Scroll knob to confirm.

4. Turn the Scroll knob to select your desired option, then press this knob to select.

To change station order

1. First, press MENU.

2. Turn the Scroll knob to < Station order >.

3. Press the Scroll knob to confirm.

@ Note: There are two options available: Alphanumeric and Ensemble. shows the corresponding

option is currently applied.

4. Turn the Scroll knob until your desired option is displayed, press it to confirm.

STATION ORDER DESCRIPTION

Alphanumeric Display all stations in alphanumeric order.

Ensemble List active stations (that are currently broadcasting) before inactive ones.

Prune Inactive Stations

@ Note: This operation will remove inactive stations from the station list.

1. First, press MENU.

2. Turn the Scroll knob to < Prune >.

3. Press the Scroll knob to confirm.

4. Turn the Scroll knob to ‘Yes’, press it to confirm.

To Show the Signal Strength in DAB mode

1. While operating in DAB mode, press INFO to display the signal strength of the current

station on the LCD.

The indicator on the signal bar shows the minimum acceptable signal level.

@ Note: Stations with signal strength below the minimum signal level will not provide a steady stream

of audio.

How to change the Station Information

l Press the INFO button repeatedly to view different station information while in DAB

and FM mode.

l This function is not available in Auxiliary Input mode.

FM MODE

FM Mode General Operation

1. Turn on the radio, and then press Mode repeatedly until < FM Mode > appears.

2. During initial use, it will start at the beginning of the FM frequency range (87.50MHz).

Otherwise, the last FM station you were listening to will be selected.

3. You can manually change the FM frequency by 0.05MHz per step by turning the Scroll

knob.

4. To operate the Auto Search function, press the Scroll knob.

@ Note: a. The display will show that the unit is searching through the frequency range until a

station is found.

b. When the unit reaches the end of the frequency range, it will restart the search from the

beginning of the frequency range.

Setting Station Presets

Your radio can store up to 8 DAB and 8 FM preset stations.

To store the current station to P1-P4:

1. Press and hold one of the preset buttons until it says ‘preset # stored’.

To store the current station to P5-P8:

1. Press Shift first to change the P1-P4 buttons to the P5-P8 range.

2. Press and hold one of the preset buttons until it says ‘preset # stored’.

Selecting a Preset station

To select a preset station from P1-P4:

1. Press Mode to change to your desired mode, and then press a desired preset button.

To select a preset station from P5-P8:

1. Press Mode to convert into your desired mode.

2. Press Shift.

3. Finally, press a desired preset button.

Scan Setting

1. Press MENU, and unit will display the below.

2. When cursor points at ‘Scan setting’, press the Scroll knob to select.

@ Note: There are only two options available ('Strong stations only' and 'All stations').

3. Turn the Scroll knob to your required option, and then press it to confirm.

Audio Setting

1. Press MENU first, and then turn the Scroll knob to < Audio setting >.

2. Press the Scroll knob to confirm.

@ Note: There are two options available ('Strong stations only' and 'All stations').

3. Turn the Scroll knob to your desired option, and then press it to confirm.

AUX IN MODE

1. Switch the radio on and press Mode repeatedly until < Auxiliary Input Mode > is displayed.

2. By connecting your external music player via the 3.5mm jacks, your radio is transformed

into a high quality audio speaker system.

3. Connect one end of the cable lead to the headphone (or auxiliary out) socket of your

source device, and the other end to the AUX IN socket on the rear of your radio.

4. For optimal volume levels, it is recommended to adjust the output volume level on

the source device.

How to enter system setup

1. First, press MENU, and then turn the Scroll knob to < System >.

2. Press the Scroll knob to confirm.

3. Turn the Scroll knob to cycle through options, in which you can find ‘Sleep’, ‘Alarm’,

‘Time’, ‘Backlight’, ‘Factory Reset’ and ‘SW version’ available.

J The following pages will provide you more details.

How to set sleep

1. It can be activated from < System > à < Sleep >, press the Scroll knob to confirm.

2. Turn the Scroll knob to change the sleep period which is between 0 – 90 minutes.

3. When your required sleep time is displayed, press the Scroll knob to confirm.

@ Note: a. The interval time is 15 minutes per step.

b. The program will turn off after reaching this pre-defined period.

c. To continue operating the unit, press the STANDBY/ ON button.

How to set Clock

1. It can be activated from < System > à < Time >, press the Scroll knob to confirm.

@ Note: below item C and item D will explain how to set the time.

A. Set 12/24 hour format

a. While the cursor points to < Set 12/24 hour >, press the Scroll knob to confirm.

b. Turn the Scroll knob to your desired option, and then press it to confirm.

B. Set Date format

a.) Similar to Step 1 above, turn the Scroll knob to < Set date format >.

b.) Press the Scroll knob to confirm.

@ Note: You can select either ‘DD-MM-YYYY’ or 'MM-DD-YYY'.

c.) Turn the Scroll knob to your preferred format, press it to confirm.

C. Set Time / Date (Manually)

a.) It can be activated from < System > à < Time >à < Set Time/Date >.

b.) Press the Scroll knob to confirm.

c.) Turn the Scroll knob to change the hour, and then press it to confirm.

d.) Turn the Scroll knob to change the minutes, and then press it to confirm. Now you

can proceed to set the date.

e.) Use the same method from time setting to set the date.

D. Auto update

a.) It can be activated from < System > à < Time >à < Auto update >.

b.) Press the Scroll knob to confirm.

@ Note: There are two options available (‘Auto update from DAB’ and ‘No update’).

c.) Turn the Scroll knob to ‘Auto update from DAB’, press it to confirm.

How to set Alarm

@ Note: Before setting the Alarm, ensure that the clock has first been set.

1. It can be activated from < System > à < Alarm >.

2. Press the Scroll knob to confirm. The alarm icon will start blinking.

3. Press the Scroll knob to enter alarm setting mode.

4. Turn the Scroll knob to ‘Alarm On’,

5. Press the Scroll knob to confirm. Refer to ‘setting the clock’ method to set Alarm time.

6. Press the Scroll knob to confirm, then turn the Scroll Knob to adjust snooze duration.

Each step will increase duration by 15 minutes. You can adjust snooze duration between

15-90 minutes.

@ Note: After the alarm reaches the snooze time within this set snooze duration, the alarm will ring

again.

7. Press SELECT to confirm, and then turn the Scroll knob to set the alarm source. You

can choose between DAB, FM or Buzzer.

@ Note: You can also select < Last listened >, so that the last used source will be used for alarm.

8. Press SELECT to confirm, and then turn the Scroll knob to set the alarm frequency.

Choose between Daily/Once/Weekends/Weekdays.

9. Press SELECT to confirm.

l To cancel Alarm temporarily:

When alarm is ringing, press the Scroll knob or STANDBY/ON to Snooze alarm, the

Snooze icon will be displayed on the LCD.

@ Note: a. Press the Scroll knob repeatedly to adjust Snooze time between 5, 10, 15, 30 mins.

b. The alarm will ring again after the predefined period of time has elapsed.

C. During snooze time, you can activate your radio by pressing STANDBY/ON.

l To cancel Alarm permanently:

Cancel alarm settings according to instructions below. Performing a factory reset will

also erase alarm settings.

1. It can be activated from < System > à < Alarm >, press the Scroll knob to confirm.

2. Turn the Scroll knob to convert alarm status from ‘On’ to ‘Off’, press it to confirm.

3. Finally, turn the Scroll knob to < Save >, press it to confirm. icon will disappear

from the LCD display.

How to set Backlight

A. At ‘power on’ condition

1. It can be activated from < System > à < Backlight >.

2. Press the Scroll knob to confirm.

3. Select ‘Power On’, press the Scroll knob to enter, and then turn it to cycle through

options and select your required setting.

@ Note: There are three options available (‘High’, ‘Medium’ and ‘Low’).

4. Press the Scroll knob to confirm.

B. In ‘Standby’ condition

1. Following from Step 4 above, next you need to turn the Scroll knob to ‘Standby’, press to

confirm and enter Standby mode.

2. Turn the Scroll knob to your desired setting, ‘High’, ‘Medium’ or ‘Low’ , and then press it to

confirm and finish.

How to Factory reset

@ Note: Factory reset will delete all preset stations and settings and return the unit to its factory settings.

1. It can be activated from < System > à < Factory reset >.

2. Press the Scroll knob to confirm.

3. Turn the Scroll knob to ‘Yes’.

4. Press the Scroll knob to confirm, then unit will clear all memory and restart.

5. All preset stations and settings are now erased and returned to factory settings.

How to Check Software Version

1. It can be activated from < System > à < SW version >.

2. Press the Scroll knob and SW version will be displayed on the LCD screen.
