Screen Scroller Mouse
Introduction
Congratulati ons on your purchase of a Screen Scroller Mou se. The scroll feature of this ergonomically designed mouse enhances your internet browsing capabilities and enables you to quickly access program features options supported under the Windows® operating system .
NOTE: If you are running the Macintosh operating system, the Screen Scr ol le r Mouse emulates a one button mouse.
The mouse connect s dir ec tl y to your computer’s USB port. Alternatively , if you are using the Windows® operating system, you can use the supplied PS/2 adapter to connect the mouse to your compute r’s PS/2 port.
This user’s guide describ es how to connect the mo use to your computer, install the default device drivers and personalize the mouse features for the following mouse models:
• PAUM002 v2 – Targus Mini Screen Scroller Mouse
• PAUM003 v2 – Targus Optical Mini Screen Scrol ler Mouse
• NW03BM – Targus Noteworthy Desktop Optical Screen Scroller Mouse
• NW04MM – Targus Noteworthy Optical Screen Scroller Mini Mouse

System Requirements
To use the mouse, yo ur computer must meet the fol lo w in g hardware requirements and run one of the operating systems liste d b elow.

• 64 MB RAM or higher, depending on
the operating system
• USB version 1.1 inte rface
or PS/2 port
• Windows 2000/XP
• Windows NT (PS/2 only)
• Mac OS X and higher (USB only)

Connecting the Mouse to Your Computer
Dependi ng on t he operatin g syste m you are runni ng, you can connect the mouse to eith er your computer’s USB port or, using the supplied PS/2 adapter, you can connect the mouse to your compute r’s PS/2 port.

Connecting the Mouse to the USB Port
NOTE: If you are running the Windows NT® operating system, you must connect the mouse to your computer’s PS/2 port. See “Connecting the Mouse to the PS/2 Port.”
To co nne ct the mouse to an available U S B port: 1 Turn off your computer.
2 Plug th e standard USB end of the cabl e into an available
USB port on your c om puter.
You are now ready to i nstall the de vic e driv ers for your operating system .

Connecting the Mouse to the PS/2 Port
NOTE: If you are running the Macintosh operating system, the you must connect the mouse to your computer’s USB port. See “Conne cting the Mouse to the USB Por t.”
To co nne ct the mouse to an ava il able PS/2 port: 1 Turn off your computer.
2 Discon nect the exis ti ng m ouse, if one is atta ched. 3 Plug the standard USB end of the cable into the USB port
on the PS/ 2 adapter

4 Plug the PS/2 adapter i nto an avai la bl e PS/2 port on your
computer.
You are now ready to i nstall the device drivers for your operating system .
NOTE: Only the stand a r d scro l l i n g features are available when the mouse is connected to the PS/2 po rt.
Installing the Device Drivers
If the operating system you are running supports Plug and Play operation, it inst al ls the default devic e drivers automatic al ly. Otherwis e, use the foll o w in g pro cedures to inst all the default device drivers for your operating system.
