Alcomax 3 magnet version of this classic drive unit,
it is constructed with a substantial high-pressure diecast 380mm (15") chassis. New material is used in
the construction of the HE (Hard Edge) twin roll fabric
driver surround while the drive unit chassis incorporates
an earthing facility. These features combine to provide
fast, accurate bass with fluid, open midrange and
clean high frequency performance.
Birch ply, from Finland, is used for the enclosure
construction with substantial internal bracing. The
beauty of the walnut veneered cabinet is further
enhanced with selected burr walnut wood veneers
and completed with rich solid walnut mouldings.
Gold plated terminals are provided allowing for the
recommended option of Bi-wiring. Silver plated Van
den Hul cable is used throughout the speaker. Along
with the Hard-Wired crossover network and acoustic
source aligning system this excellent cable ensures
minimum signal degradation. Both treble level and
roll off can be adjusted by means of high current
switch blocks. A Variable Distributed Port System
allows low frequency output to be tuned to suit
any room.
The Canterbury 15 HE loudspeakers are built to
special order only. They are supplied with a certificate
nd
of ownership and a polished brass trim plate engraved
with the owner’s name.
