Creating Profiles
You can save Tr anslat i on Opt i on s et tings int o P rofiles, al l owing different use rs to select their
own pref erred o ptions when wo rk i ng with SY STRAN 7 produc ts. User P rofiles can be s aved,
export ed, and impo rt ed. W hen yo u selec t a Profile, all options ass ociat ed with that Profil e are
loaded. If no Pr ofile i s s elect ed, SYS T RA N 7 will use the Default pr ofile option setti ngs.
Appl icat i on S etti ngs cannot be saved in t he Pr ofiles.

Understanding Profile-Translation Model Synchronization
W hen a pro fil e con figured from a Trans l at i on M odel di splay s as Synchroniz ed, it i ndi cates
that the translat i on res ourc es ( di cti onaries, t ranslat i on mem ories) that comprise t he
Trans lation Model are t he same as when it was generated by the trai ning proc ess.
As such, wheneve r a user changes transl ation resourc es the profile display s as Not
Synchroni ze d, thus i ndicat i ng that the Hyb ri d t rans l ation engine 's beh avior might di ffer f rom
the t i m e of t he training.

Resynchronizing Profiles
The f as tes t and easies t way to retur n a pro fil e cre at ed from a Transl ation Model t o the

dro pdow n when the profile displays as Not s ync hronized.

each setting one by one.
Selecting Profiles

Permissions cannot be set for Local profiles, which are a vail able only to users
who are running SY STRAN Us er Tools Pl us or SY STRAN E xpert Tools P l us.

Translating W eb Pages in Internet Explorer and Firefox
The SYSTRA N Toolbar is int egrated int o you r Web bro ws er whe n you instal l S YST RAN 7. By
de fault , thi s Toolbar app ears w hen y ou open t he br owse r. T o hi de it, selec t the

If you want to move the SYSTRAN Toolbar (Internet Explorer only), you must first

2. Use t he Target language dropdown list to s el ec t a target langua ge.
3. Cut or c opy text from your Windows appl i cati on and pas t e i t in t he l eft panel of t he
Trans lation Toolbar. You can al so enter text di rec tly i nto the l eft panel.
4. If Tra nsla te a s you type i s enabled ( refe r t o
