The SYSTRA N Trans l ation Toolbar, whic h i s included in bot h SYST RA N Us er Tools and SY STRAN E xpe rt Tools, i s used to translat e text in Windows appli cati ons where there is no specific SYS T RA N t oolbar. T he S YSTRA N Trans l ation Toolbar let s you transl ate text i n any W i ndows appli cati on by cutting/ copy i ng t ext and pasti ng i t i nto the Tool bar. Y ou can then paste the tra ns l ated text i nto any Windows appli cat ion.

1. Clic k t he SYSTRAN Tran slation Toolbar icon on t he P C des ktop, or cl i ck Start on the W i ndows Task bar and p oi nt to All P rogra m s > SYSTRAN 7 > SYST R AN Toolbar.
2. Toggle t he Layout buttons to swit ch from side-by-s i de to hori zo ntal display o f s ourc e and target text.

Us ing t he Translation Toolbar

1. If Automatic la ngua ge de tection is enabl ed, the det ected l anguag e appears i n the Source langua ge dropdow n. Use t he S ource l anguage dropdown to selec t a dif ferent
source langu age.
2. Use t he Target language dropdown list to s el ec t a target langua ge.
3. Cut or c opy text from your Windows appl i cati on and pas t e i t in t he l eft panel of t he Trans lation Toolbar. You can al so enter text di rec tly i nto the l eft panel.
4. If Tra nsla te a s you type i s enabled ( refe r t o as s oon as it i s entered. Otherwis e, cl i ck the Translate butt on. The trans l at ed t ext app ears i n t he ri ght panel of t he Toolbar.
5. Copy t he tr anslat ed t ext from t he right p anel of t he Toolbar and paste it i nto your W i ndows appli cati on.

Translating a Single File

1. Ope n the W i ndows Expl orer and loc ate a fil e to trans l at e.
2. Right-c l ick t he fil ename to open t he pop up m enu.
The popu p menu wil l onl y s how the SYSTRAN Translate option wh en yo u right-
cl i ck on a supported file fo rm at.
3. Select SYSTRA N Transla te . A Save Fi le As dialog box wil l di splay .
4. Sel ec t a Source a nd Target l angua ge.
5. Sel ec t a Profile to ap pl y for th e transl ation.

6. Click Browse to s el ect a l ocati on for the t rans l ate d file. The defaul t is to plac e the trans l ate d fil e i n th e same locati on as the origi nal file.
7. Click Translate to begi n the trans l at i on process . A dialog wi l l s how t ranslat ion progress. W hen t he proc ess ends , the dialog will indi cat e if the tra nslat i on was succes s ful or if an error occ urre d.

You can op en mul tiple di cti onaries at the same t i m e. Each dic tionary wi ll appea r on a ta b i n the m ai n S DM wi ndo w. Click on a tab to view and w ork wi t h th at dictionary.

W orking with the SDM Panes

Dic t i onary panes can be plac ed i n dif ferent pos i tions on the SDM window.
1. Right-c l ick a di cti onary tab to open a popu p men u.
2. Sel ec t a dis pl ay opt ion fr om the p opup. Y ou can also cl i ck, hold and dr ag a di cti onary tab to m ove it to a ne w locat ion.
3. Right-c l ick on any dic tionary pane t o open a po pup menu. You can the n set this pane to hide or fl oat . You can als o cli ck, hold and dra g any SDM pan e to move it t o a new location.

Adding or Removing Buttons
To add or rem ove b uttons f rom one of the t oolbars , cl i ck the handle at the en d of any SDM tool bar s ec tion:

2. Check the box to add a com mand. Ope n the check box to remove a c ommand.
