PRESET EQUALIZER OPERATION
This unit has four pre-set equalizing effects: FLAT, ROCK, POPS, JAZZ and CLASSIC. You can get your favorite EQ effect by pressing the corresponding button on the unit.
EARPHONE OUTPUT OPERATION
Connect the earphone to the socket and adjust the volume as desired. Once plugged in, the speaker output will be automatically cut off. Please note that the earphone is 3.5mm diameter.
RADIO OPERATION
This unit can receive FM radio stations. There are three modes for receiving broadcasts: manual selection, automatic selection and preset selection.
NOTE:
Before receiving radio broadcast, please check that the antenna has been
correctly connected.
a. Radio station selection
(1) Press the FUNCTION button on the unit or the INPUT button on the
remote control to select TUNER source.
(2) You can choose any of the following ways to select the radio station of
your choice:
MANUAL SELECTION
Press the /TUN+ button or the /TUN- button, and the frequency will change little by little, till adjust to which you want.
AUTOMATIC SELECTION
If you press the /TU+ button or the /TU- button for more than one second, the frequency will automatically be adjusted up or down, till find a station.
PRESET SELECTION (IT CAN ONLY BE USED AFTER THE RADIO STATION HAS BEEN SET)
Press the NUMBER buttons to select the radio station that you want to preset. Then LCD will display the band and the frequency of the radio station which you preset.
b. Preset radio station
You can preset 16 stations. (1) Press the NUMBER buttons to choose the number firstly. The preset
number will display on the screen. (2) Tune to the radio station that you wish to store. (3) Press the PROG/MEM button on the remote control and the word
“MEMORY” will display on the LCD. And the number you choose will
flash on the LCD. (4) Press the PROG/MEM button on the remote control again and you can
store the frequency of the radio station, on the LCD the word
“MEMORY” will disappear.
(5) Repeat the above 1-4 so that you can store every radio station you
want in the preset number.
C. FM reception mode
If the broadcast is in stereo, word “ST” will display on LCD. You can enjoy stereo sound. If FM cannot receive well in stereo mode or there is some noise, pressing the REP/ST button, you can choose the mono mode. At that time, the result will improved but it does not have stereo result. If you want to return to the mode of stereo, press the REP/ST button and word “ST” will display on LCD again.
DVD OPERATION
a. Basic play
1. Set the INPUTswitch on the unit to select DVD function.
2. Press “OPEN/CLOSE” button to open the disc tray.
3. Place the disc on the disc tray.
4. Press ”OPEN/CLOSE” button the player will automatically play.
HOW TO SELECT THE TRACK
If you want to play the second track or chapter, please press the number button “2” directly, then press PLAY/ENTER button to play the second track or chapter.
HOW TO PAUSE PLAYBACK (STILL PLAYBACK)
Press the PAUSE during playback. Press the PLAY/ENTER button to resume normal playback.
HOW TO REMOVE THE DISC
Press the OPEN/CLOSE button . Wait until the disc tray is completely open before removing any discs. After removing the discs, press the OPEN/CLOSE button to close the disc tray.
HOW TO STOP PLAYBACK
If press the STOP button once, the DVD video player is stopped. At this point, press the PLAY button to re-start the disc from the same point.
If press the STOP button twice, the disc will stop completely.
FAST FORWARD/ REWARD
Press the or button once, the disc will be played forward or backward. With each subsequent press, the disc will be played back at 2x, 4x, 8x, 20x speed and play. Press PLAY button to return to normal play.
SKIP NEXT/ PREVIOUS Press the or / button to select the next track or the previous track.
b. SLOW PLAY
Press SLOW button when playing, you can play the disc at 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/5, 1/6,1/7 of the normal speed. If you want to stop it, you can press
PLAY button to play normally again.
c. ZOOM PICTURE
This DVD video player allows you to zoom in/ out a picture as well as shift the zoom point. Press ZOOM during normal play or slow motion, the DVD video player magnifies in the center or the picture at 2x, 3x, 4x, 1/2, 1/3, 1/4 of the normal picture. In the ZOOM mode, you can use / / / buttons to move the picture for optimum viewing.
d. REPEAT PLAY
You can use the REPT button to repeat the playing under normal situation. Press the REPT button the first time to repeat playing the present chapter. Press the REPT button again to repeat playing the present title. Press the REPT button third time to repeat playing the disc. Press the REPT button for the forth time to cancel repeating playing and return to normal playing. Note: For Different discs, REPEAT button may be have different functions.
e. On screen display (OSD)
When the OSD button on the remote control is pressed while a disc is playing, the TV screen will display the present status, as well as other information regarding the disc that is being played. Press the same button again to close the screen display.
f. Mute
Press the MUTE button on the remote control to suppress the sound while a disc is playing. Press the same button again to resume playing with sound.
Caution:
Do not increase volume of the TV or amplifier when the system is on MUTE. There are chances of the speakers getting damaged when the sound is resumed.
g. POWER ON/OFF
Press the STANDY button on the remote control to switch the system on or off. If this button is pressed while the unit is playing, it will go in to the standby mode. Pressing this button again will make the unit switch on.
h. GOTO FUNCTION
You could choose from your favorite place to play the disc by using the GOTO button.
1. Press GOTO button during playback. TV will show: For DVD discs: TT: xx/xx CH: xxx/xxx xx:xx:xx
(the current chapter elapse time)
For VCD/CD discs: TRK: xx/xx xx:xx:xx (the current elapse time)
2. By pressing the / / / buttons to move the cursor , and input the
numbers to select the title, chapter and time (or track) you want.
3. Press PLAY/ENTER button to play from the point you choose.
NOTES:
In order to access the GOTO function on some discs, you must first press the PBC OFF.
i. PLAYING IN A FAVORITE ORDER
Combine your favorite titles, chapters or tracks and play them in your favorite order.
HOW TO SET TITLES, CHAPTERS, OR TRACKS IN A FAVORITE ORDER
The program playback function will automatically playback titles, chapters or tracks in the order preprogrammed.

2. Input the numbers to select the title and chapter (track) you want, and
pressing the / / / buttons to move the cursor , then input the next one.
3. By pressing / / / buttons to move the cursor to PLA Y, then
press PLAY/ENTER button. The DVD video player starts memory playback.
NOTE:
When the DVD video player is turned off, or if the discs are
removed, the program item will be removed.
Depending on the disc, the program playback may not function.  If press the STOP button once, the DVD video player is stopped.
At this point, press the PLAY button to re-start the disc from the same point.
If press the STOP button twice, program playing will be cancelled.
j. SELECTING THE CAMERA ANGLES SETTING
This DVD video player allows you to select from several different angles. Press the ANGLE button while playing back a scene recorded with multiple angles. You may only press the ANGLE button when the angle icon is flashing on the DVD display. Each time you press the ANGLE button, the angle will change. Press PLAY/ENTER button to confirm.
NOTE:
The angle function will not work on DVD video discs that do not
contain recorded multiple angles.
During still playback, you are able to change the camera angle.
However, when you resume to normal playback, the camera angle changes to the new settings.
The angle icon indicator will illuminate while playing back a title
that contains at least one scene recorded with multiple angles.
k. SELECTING SUBTITLES
This DVD video player allows you to display the subtitles form those included on the disc, on to your TV screen. Press the SUB-T button during playback, you have the option to select a preferred subtitle from those included on the DVD video disc. To turn off the subtitle function, press the SUB-T during playback until the subtitles disappears.
NOTE:
With some DVD’s, you may not be able to turn off the subtitles and
they will appear on screen automatically.
As you press the SUB-T button, the subtitles may not appear
immediately during some screens.
If the subtitles continue to show on your TV even after the DVD has
been turned off, please refer to the TV’s close caption settings.
l. CUSTOMIZING THE FUCTION SETTINGS
This DVD video player allows you to customize the performance to your personal preference.
DISPLAYING THE SETUP MENU SCREEN:
The SETUP MENU screen asks you to select a setting category from SYSTEM SETUP, LANGUAGE SETUP, AUDIO SETUP, VIDEO SETUP, SPEAKER SETUP, DIGITAL SETUP. The selected category will provide you the setting details on the TV screen. Please look at the followed for
more details.
Press SETUP button, enter the SETUP MENU. Press / / / to select category (highlight), then press PLAY/ENTER to confirm. Press SETUP button again or choose EXIT SETUP to normal playback. Note: Functions and menu may change without notice.
1. SYSTEM SETUP (1)TV system: you could choose TV system according to your own TV.
(2)Screen saver: if screen saver on, there will be saver display when
there is no operation for several minutes. (3) Video: you could choose the input mode from the list. (4)TV type: you could choose the suitable type for your TV.
(5)Password: preset password is 0000, you could input the number as
your own password (4 digital), then press PLAY/ENTER to confirm.
You could use the password to lock several rating discs, such as
KID SAFE, G, PG13, PG-R, R, NC-17 and ADULT. (6)Rating (7)Default: choose this function to restore all setup to factory defaults.

m. AUDIO
Press AUDIO button directly to select sound output channel according to disc to get best sound effect. NOTE: For some discs, AUDIO function may be not operated.
NOTES
(1) Please read these operating instructions carefully before you
operate this unit.
(2) When you want to cut off the electricity supply of the whole unit’s
power, please press the STANDBY button on the unit.
(3) Don’t press any button if you are not using the unit. Set the
STANDBY button to “OFF”, and take out the battery before long
time non usage.
(4) Be cautious of the safe mark . (5) Repairs are to be referred to qualified service personnel. Don’t take
apart it by yourself.
(6) Because of a sudden change in temperature or humidity, or when
warm air comes into contact with any cold parts in the unit,
condensation may form. When condensation forms inside, the unit
may not function well. Once condensation disappears, the unit will
return to normal functioning. Placing the unit in a warm room will
help to dry up condensation. This should take 1 to 2 hours,
depending on environmental conditions. As condensation may also
appear on the disc, it should be wiped from inside towards the outer
side using a dry cloth.
(7) It is dangerous to use warped or broken discs since lasers rotate at
high speed. Never use discs repaired with plastic tape or glue, as it
will lead to damage. After playing, if you hear strange noise or the
unit flatters, e.g. the disc does not turn smoothly, please stop
playing immediately.
(8) Please remove the discs after use and put them into cases and
store them in vertical position. Tilting or piling may lead to warping.
Please keep the discs away from direct sunlight, high temperature and
humidity.
Do not stick labels onto discs. Do not scratch the surface of discs.
USB and Memory Card Opteration
Connect a USB Memory Stick, MP3 Player or SD(HC), MMC or MS to the
unit to play MP3 or WMA files. The unit will automatically select the correct source.
Playing MP3, WMA, JPG and Movie (DivX) files.
1. Insert your CD, USB Memory Stick or Memory Card. The Sweex Music Player with DVD will initialize the disc and the directory (folder) will be shown in a MENU on screen.
2. Press the / button until you can select the icons to select your file
type. Music, Picture, Games (not supported) and Video.
Press the / button in the opposite direction to select the file type, then
press ENTER on the remote control. Now you can choose from the list of files to play.
3. Press the PLAY button to play the files. Press orduring playback
to skip the tracks. If you need to return to the main directory (folder), press STOP.
NOTE:
The left column on the TV screen is a list showing the name of
the folder. The right column on the TV screen is a list showing the name of the song and the sub-folder.
“MP3” sign in front of a file name indicates that this is a MP3 file. During MP3 playback, you cannot access to “PLAY MODE” folder or songs.
MAINTENANCE
1). Cleaning the cabinet
Use a soft cloth slightly moistened with a mild detergent solution. Do not
use a solution containing alcohol, spirits, ammonia or abrasives.
2). Cleaning discs
When a disc becomes dirty, clean it with a cleaning cloth. Wipe the disc
from the centre outwards.
Do not use solvents such as benzine, thinner s, commercially available
cleaners, or antistatic spray intended for analogue records.
TROUBLE SHOOTING
Should the unit not function, please check the system according to this table find out the possible problem. If you still can’t solve the problem, please ensure the product is repaired by qualified service personnel.
