THE SWAN SW-240
The Swan SW-240 is one of my favorite rigs, with 3 bands including 75m, 40m, and 20m, it packages the three monobanders into one unit. Furnished with the mobile mounting bracket, it makes for an easy to use base / portable / mobile radio.
POWER INPUT:
Single Sideband 240 watts PEP with 800 VDC power supply CW 200 watts DC input AM (single sideband with carrier) approx. 60 watts input
METHOD OF GENERATING SSB:
High frequency crystal filter centering at 5174.5 kc. Single conversion employed in both transmit and receive. Bandwidth is 3 kc nominal at 6 db down, both transmit and receive.
UNWANTED SIDEBAND SUPPRESSION:
Approximately 40 db.
CARRIER SUPPRESSION:
Approximately 50 db.
TRANSMITTER OUTPUT IMPEDANCE:
Pi-network output matches antennas essencially resistive at 20 to 300 ohms impedance.
RECEIVER SENSITIVITY:
Less than 1 microvolt at 50 ohms input impedance for a signal-plus-noise to noise ratio of 10 db.
AUDIO RESPONSE:
Essencially flat 300 to 3000 cps on both transmit and receive.
RECEIVER OUTPUT:
3 watts audio at 3.2 ohms.
