HANDLING THIS DEVICE
SET-UP AREA
• Place the device on a stable, even, heat-resistant and steam-resistant surface. Make sure that the device cannot slip or tip over!
• Make sure that objects which could be impacted or damaged by escaping steam are sufficient distance away from, over or under the device (e.g. cupboards).
• The power cord must not be placed through the sink!
BEFORE FIRST USE
• Remove all packaging and securing materials carefully from the device and accessory parts.
• Clean the device according to the chapter on Cleaning and Care in order to remove dust or any possible residues from manufacturing.
NOTE:
• The maximum volume of water in the
steam vessel (4)
must not exceed 18
litres!
• Make sure that the
outlet tap (5)
is closed before filling the
steam vessel (4)
with water.
• Always ensure that the
steam vessel (4)
is filled with a sufficient amount of
water in order to avoid drying out or damages to the auto-preserving cooker.
• A slight odour could occur when using this device for the first time. This is due to the manufacturing process and is completely normally and harmless. Make sure there is sufficient ventilation.
SCOPE OF APPLICATION
The auto-preserving cooker is suitable for:
• preserving
• warming up and keeping foods and soups warm
• warming, keeping warm and removing of beverages
SWITCHING DEVICE OFF AND ON
Set the desired temperature using the
thermostat control (7)
.
The
indicator light (8)
lights up during the heating phase. Once the set temperature
is reached, the
indicator light (8)
turns off. During use, the
indicator light (8)
lights
up again and again if the temperature falls below the set temperature. Put the
thermostat control (7)
in the OFF position to switch off the device.

PRESERVING
Preserving is the conservation or preservation of foods. In conservation, there is a distinction between sterilisation(100°C) and pasteurisation (80°C). Special preserve jars with rubber seals are needed for this.
• Place the
preserving grid (3)
in the
steam vessel (4)
.
• Fill the preserve jars and close them tightly so that water cannot penetrate them.
• Place the filled preserve jars on the
preserving grid (3)
, to a maximum of two
layers over each other.
• Fill the
steam vessel (4)
with water. The upper jars must be at least ¾ immersed
in water.
• Close the auto-preserving cooker with the
lid (2)
.
• Use the
thermostat control (7)
to set the desired temperature.
• Now, the heating-up cycle has begun. In a full device, this cycle can last up to 90 minutes.
• Once the
indicator light (8)
turns off, the actual preserving cycle begins.
• Once the preserving cycle is over, set the
thermostat control (7)
to the OFF
position.
• Place a sufficiently large and heat-resistant vessel under the
outlet tap (5)
and
open it by pressing the lever back. The hot water will then flow out.
• Once the
steam vessel (4)
is completely drained, let the preserve jars cool off for
a longer period of time. Danger of burns!

WARMING-UP LIQUIDS AND KEEPING LIQUIDS WARM
• Fill the
steam vessel (4)
with liquid (e.g. mulled wine, punch or cocoa) up to a
maximum of 2/3 the total capacity.
• Close the auto-preserving cooker with the
lid (2)
.
• Select the desired temperature using the
thermostat control (7)
.
• The
indicator light (8)
lights up.
• Stir the liquid around to reach uniform heating.
• Once the selected temperature is reached, the
indicator light (8)
switches off. The
indicator light (8)
lights up again until the set temperature is reached again if the
temperature falls below the selected temperature.
• You can make the liquid flow out via the
outlet tap (5)
into a vessel or cup. Just press the lever down. Release the lever once the desired amount of liquid has flowed out.
NOTE:
• Do not remove any liquids with solid contents (e.g. soups) from the
outlet tap

. It could cause clogging.
• For larger amounts of liquid, you can press the lever of the
outlet tap (5)
upwards until it is fixed in place. Then the lever does not need to be held in place.
• Semi-liquid foods such as stews must be stirred regularly in order to prevent the foods from burning.

.
DECALCIFYING
The device must be decalcified at regular intervals. The intervals depend on the degree of hardness of the water used and the frequency of use.
The device must be decalcified in order to ensure the safe operation of this device, especially if signs of calcification are detected.
Use a vinegar solution of water and vinegar (no vinegar concentrate!) at a mixing ratio of 3:1 or a commercial decalcifying substance to decalcify. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions regarding application of the commercial decalcifying substance! When using vinegar:
• Fill the
steam vessel (4)
of the device to the maximum filling level with the
vinegar solution and switch the device on.
• Let the vinegar solution sit in the device for approximately one hour.
• Then pour out the vinegar solution.
• Then rinse out the
steam vessel (4)
thoroughly with clear water until the
vinegar odour dissipates.
