Subaru Wrx 2016 Owner's Manual

2016
WRX/STI
The best-handling, best-performing WRX and WRX STI ever.
Information Provided by:
The WRX has all the hardware needed to corner with grace and speed. Starting with the suspension, the WRX has an enviable setup—a rigid unibody chassis with reinforced suspension mounting points, aluminum front lower control arms with pillow ball joint mounts, and a double-wishbone rear suspension with pillow ball bushings. Aided by its sticky Dunlop® Sport Maxx RT tires, the WRX achieves a remarkable 0.96g of lateral grip.1 Add Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, and you’ve got a recipe for world-class handling performance.
Having excellent grip is only one half of the handling equation. The other half is the driver’s sensation of control and precision, which the WRX delivers with a quick 14.4:1 steering ratio, and the cornering poise provided by Active Torque Vectoring. Add in available 18-inch wheels with inverted front struts for even less unsprung weight and more cornering response.
Cornering Responsiveness
1 Based on Motor Trend testing of 2015 WRX with manual transmission. December 2013. 2 Blind-Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert are systems designed to assist the driver by monitoring the rear and side areas of the vehicle during a lane change
or reversing and are not a substitute for safe and attentive driving.
3 EyeSight is a driver assist technology, which may not operate optimally under all driving conditions. The driver is always responsible for safe and attentive driving. System effectiveness
depends on many factors such as vehicle maintenance, weather and road conditions. See Owner’s Manual for complete details on system operation and limitations. Please remember to turn off EyeSight when going through a carwash.

There’s plenty of technology and smart engineering behind the legendary cornering performance of the WRX STI. Its track-tuned suspension features standard inverted front struts and aluminum front lower control arms for low unsprung weight, an attribute that can be enhanced by the available lightweight BBS® wheels. The standard Dunlop® Sport Maxx RT tires help the WRX STI achieve monstrous grip—0.97g to be exact.1 You can hit apexes and exit corners with authority, thanks to Subaru Symmetrical AWD with Driver Controlled Center Differential (DCCD), dual limited-slip differentials, and Active Torque Vectoring.
Cornering
The WRX STI driving experience is a synergy between driver and car that’s all too rare. You’ll feel an invigorating sense of control, thanks to the ultra-quick 13:1 steering ratio, rigid unibody chassis and powerful Brembo® high-performance braking system, which helps you stop with authority. For more stability at higher speeds, the WRX STI’s signature rear wing adds downforce for added control.
Responsiveness
