OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
FOR STREAMLIGHT STINGER

®

FAST CHARGER

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS. This manual contains
important safety information.

The Fast Charger will charge a fully depleted Stinger®battery in
good condition within 2.5 hours. When the Stinger is placed into the
Fast Charger, the red LED will light continuously, indicating the fast
charge rate is being applied. Special circuitry senses when the
battery has received a full charge, switches to a lower
“maintenance” charge rate and causes the LED to blink, indicating
the maintenance rate is being applied and that the Stinger has
received a full charge. A secondary safety circuit will discontinue the
fast rate shortly after approximately 2.5 hours if for any reason the
primary circuit fails to terminate the fast charge.

WARNING! In mobile installations do not connect the fast
charger to a switched power source. The Fast Charger must be
connected directly to the vehicle battery or to the unswitched
side of the ignition through a 2 amp, fuse. Use a lighter plug only
if the vehicle lighter socket is not switched off by the ignition
switch and only if the plug fits the lighter securely. There is a
risk of battery damage or explosion if the fast charger power
supply is repeatedly switched “off” and “on.” When the charger
is delivering maintenance rate, the drain on a vehicle battery
is minimized.

2. Do not charge battery when temperature is below 32ºF (0ºC) or
above 105ºF (40ºC). Your battery pack life is affected by charging
in temperature extremes.

3. Keep the flashlight and charger contacts clean at all times. Poor
contacts can cause charger malfunction. An abrasive pencil
eraser works well to clean the contacts.

4. Observe the LED:
A. If it does not blink rapidly and continuously, indicating a full

charge within 2.75 hours of flashlight insertion, examine the
charger and installation for intermittent wiring that may be
resetting the fast charge rate. If no obvious external fault is
found, return the system to Streamlight for service.

B. If you notice that it always takes longer than 2.5 hours for the

LED to blink, especially if the Flashlight has not been fully
discharged, return the system for service.

C. If the LED does not come on steady when you insert the

flashlight, return the system for service.

D. Proper function of the fast charge termination circuit can be

tested by the following: insert a flashlight into the charger for
at least 5 minutes. Without removing it from the charger, turn
it “on” briefly In approximately ten (10) seconds, the LED
should switch to blink mode.

5. The Fast Charge system requires wall transformer #22665-120V,
#22664-23OV, or a DC power cord to charge the UltraStinger or
the SuperStinger.

usar la goma de borrar abrasiva de un lápiz.

4. Observe la luz LED:

A. Si no destella rápida y continuamente, indicando una carga

completa, 2,75 horas después de insertar la linterna, examine el
cargador y la instalación para ver si hay algún cableado
intermitente que esté reajustando la velocidad de carga rápida.
Si no halla ningún defecto externo obvio, envíe el sistema a
Streamlight para que lo reparen.

B. Si observa que siempre toma más de 2 horas y media hasta que

la luz LED destelle, especialmente si la linterna no se había
descargado del todo, devuelva el sistema para que lo reparen.

C. Si la luz LED no se enciende de modo permanente al introducir la

linterna, devuelva el sistema para que lo reparen.

D. Se puede probar el funcionamiento adecuado del circuito de

terminación de la cargo rápida de este modo- Introduzca una
linterna en el cargador durante 5 minutos por lo menos. Sin
sacarla del cargador, enciéndala brevemente. En diez (10)
segundos aproximadamente, la luz LED debería comenzar a
destellar.

GUARDE ESTAS INSTRUCCIONES. Este manual contiene
información importante respecto a la seguridad.

El Cargador Rápido puede cargar una pila Stinger®totalmente agotado
en buen estado en 2 horas y media. Cuando se coloca la Stinger en el
Cargador Rápido, la luz LED rojo se encenderá y permanecerá
encendida, indicando que se está aplicando la cargo a alta velocidad.
Circuitos especiales detectan cuándo ha recibido la pila una carga
completa, cambian a una velocidad de carga de “mantenimiento” más
baja y hacen destellar la luz LED, indicando que se está aplicando la
carga de mantenimiento y que la Stinger ha recibido una carga
completa. Un circuito se cundario de seguridad desconectará la carga a
alta velocidad después de 2 horas y media aproximadamente si, por
cualquier razón, el circuito primario no terminase la carga rápida.

¡ADVERTENCIA! En instalaciones móviles, no conecte el
Cargador Rápido a una fuente de energía con interruptor. El Cargador
debe ser conectado directamente a la batería del vehículo o al lado
del encendido sin interruptor, mediante un fusible de 2 amperios.
Use un enchufe para encendedor de cigarrillos solamente si el
receptáculo de este encendedor del vehículo no es desconectado por
la llave de encendido y solamente si el enchufe se adopta en el
encendedor de cigarrillos con seguridad. Existe un riesgo de daño o
explosión de la batería si se desconecto y conecto repetidamente la
alimentación de energía del Cargador Rápido. Cuando el cargador
está proporcionando la cargo de mantenimiento, el drenaje de la
batería de un vehículo se reduce al mínimo.
