Gazco Fire
When you choose Gazco, quality and
technology are assured. From traditional
models to contemporary designs, Gazco
is committed to creating the ultimate
flame-effect gas and electric fires.
Our research and development laboratories
are amongst the most advanced in the world,
ensuring that the very latest innovations are
incorporated into our appliances. The new
high efficiency
are just two examples.
Additionally, we offer a superb range of solid
fuel, gas and electric fire baskets, each one
handcrafted using traditional materials such
as brass, steel, chrome and cast iron. Many
are also offered in a choice of sizes and in a
variety of casting shapes or finishes. In fact,
there are almost 100 combinations from
which to select the perfect fire basket for
your fireplace.

Balanced Flue
(No chimney required)
Balanced flues work in conjunction with glass fronted gas
fires. The appliance is completely sealed from the room into
which it is installed (so there are no draughts and heating
efficiency is increased!) and a twin-wall pipe vents directly
to an outside wall. Air for combustion is drawn in through
the outer pipe whilst the inner pipe removes the combustion
gases to the exterior of the property. Depending on the fire
selected, the twin-walled pipe may exit horizontally through
an external wall or vertically through the roof. No electric
supply is required; therefore there is no sound with this
flue system.
An Integral Powered Flue fire is an open fronted gas
appliance with an electronically driven fan system mounted
directly behind it on an external wall. When the fire is
ignited the fan switches on automatically, expelling the
products of combustion through a short, horizontal metal
flue to the outdoors.
This works in a very similar manner to the Integral Powered
Flue. However, the main benefit is that, instead of a short,
straight-through-the-wall flue, you can have much longer flue
runs and up to three bends in the flue. This means your fire
does not have to be installed against an external wall so it
can be located in more rooms around your home.
Electric Fires
(No chimney required)
Gazco produce an excellent selection of electric Riva fires
and the electric Stilo inset fire which do not, of course,
require a chimney or flue of any kind.
Pre-cast Flue
(Class 2)
Many modern homes have been built with such flues. You
can readily identify them by either a metal flue cowl or a
raised ridge terminal on your roof. Again, the natural
circulation of heated air expels the products of combustion.
Incidentally, these flues tend to be very shallow in depth so
a slimmer fire is often required. Deep appliances, however,
may be able to be installed with the use of either a spacer
kit or deeper rebate on the fireplace.

The
choice of fire. To help you understand which fires are suitable
for your home, please use the following information and pictures
to identify your chimney. Don’t worry, if you don’t have a
chimney though, you can still find the perfect fire for your home!
Once you have identified your chimney (or confirmed you do
not have one), take note of the symbol that represents this, as
this will be used throughout the brochure to represent the fire
or fires that are suitable for installation in your home. You may
also want to utilise the fold-out key at the back of this brochure
to quick reference any symbols. Please check with your local
Gazco retailer that your flue and fireplace opening are suitable
for your fire choice.
Brick/Stone Chimney
(Class 1)
Conventional chimneys are easily recognisable. The stack
rises well above the roofline and is topped by a traditional
chimney pot or gas terminal. This type of chimney relies on
the natural circulation of heated air to expel the products of
combustion up your chimney.
1
Pre-fabricated Flues
You will see a metal flue cowl on your roof. Some are all
metal whilst others may terminate through a short rectangular
pot (but without a chimney stack). These flues create the
same circulation of heated air as a brick or stone chimney.

Open Studio - White Stone Fuel Bed
All Open Studio fires incorporate Gazco’s ultra contemporary flame effect, a single ribbon of modulating
flames dancing over a bed of small white stones. Beautifully reflected by the stainless front plate there is
also the additional option for a polished black granite interior to further increase the reflective qualities of
the fire. Open Studios are one of the few gas fires on the market that allow the possibility of installing a
Plasma or LCD television above them, for a great visual centrepiece, please see page 123 for full details.
There is a choice of three fire styles in the range; Open Fronted with
white stone fuel bed, Glass Fronted with white stone fuel bed and the
maintaining all the style of the Open Studios. They are also available
in a balanced flue option making them perfect for many homes, even
those without a chimney!
According to model, there is also a choice of three sizes in perfectly
proportioned landscape form, allowing you to achieve that dramatic
look in both the smallest and the largest of interiors! Additionally, this
year we have developed the visually diverse Studio 22 fires with their
innovative portrait shape. These stunning additions are set to inspire
a whole host of ne w decorative styles and are testament to Gazco’s
continued investment into inspired product design.
Glass Fronted Studio - White Stone Fuel Bed*
Glass Fronted Studios benefit from greatly increased heat output, boasting up to 81% efficiency.
The standard features of the Studio Open are also included in this fire choice, including the white
stone ribbon flames. According to fire size, there are options for both conventional and balanced flue
installations, making the Studio perfect for many homes, even those without a chimney!
Glass Fronted Studio - Log Effect Fuel Bed*
This latest addition to the Studio range also offers increased efficiency but with the additional benefit
of a special heat-retaining lining, storing and radiating heat after the fire has been turned off. This
choice is for those who want the modern styling that only comes with a Studio whilst maintaining
a more traditional feel to the fire, due to a newly developed realistic log effect fuel bed, beautifully
displayed behind a near invisible glass window. Highlighting the log effect is a lighter coloured interior,
in contrast to the black contemporary interior of the white stone versions. This version is available in
both balanced flue and conventional flue versions.
*Please note that due to the higher efficiency of the Glass Fronted Studio’s, Gazco does not recommend installing any televisions above these fires.
Remote Controls
All fires in the Studio range are supplied with a state-of-the-art Sequential remote control as standard,
allowing you to operate everything from ignition to flame height and heat output from the comfort of your
sofa. For the Glass Fronted Studios the Programmable Sequential remote also includes the additional benefit
of programmable timer and thermostatic controls, ensuring that, if you choose to set it, whenever you return
home your house will always be warm and welcoming.
Should you mislay your hand set, Studio fires also come complete with a flat Touch Control panel that can
be discreetly wall mounted up to 2500mm away from the fire, allowing you to ignite, extingish and control
the flame height with ease.

The Riva 67 is also available as an electric fire. You simply slot
it into a pre-constructed opening (in a wall, fireplace or wooden
surround), plug in and switch on for that 'real fire' look and
authentic atmosphere. Alternatively, you can mount the Electric
Riva on the wall with an optional wall mounting fixing kit.
The Arlington model is for hearth mounting only.
The impressive electric log-effect fire provides flickering flames
and a warming glow at the touch of a button on the remote
control. There's instant heat too, as the heater can be operated
with either 1kW or 2kW of output. Or, if you wish, you can just
enjoy the flames without any heat.
Choose from Arlington, Avanti, Designio, Esprit and Vetro
versions, or the slimline View version which is only 142mm deep
when mounted onto the wall or just 35mm when recessed .

Mix & Match Fires
We therefore suggest that you view the features for each of our fire choices below and choose
an option that is most suited to your home, then browse through and decide on a design that
suits the style of your interior. There is a handy table at the bottom of each page that clearly
shows the fire choices and chimney options available for that particular frame.
VFC
Available in 16”, 18” and 22” widths and standard or low lintel
heights, the VFC Convector is our most versatile fire. It is suitable
for brick chimneys only but offers the additional benefits of a
slightly deeper fuel bed and unique VFC (variable flame control)
system, which allows you to select the exact balance of flame,
glow and heat to suit your mood.
Radiant
These fires are for those who want all the visuals of a Gazco fire,
but do not require the additional heat of a convector or do not
wish to refurbish an existing open fireplace, whether conventional
‘chairbrick’ opening for a VFC Tapered fire or traditional cast iron
fireplace. Tapered fires are available in 16", 18" and 22' widths
and can generally be fitted into existing openings without further
building work.
Please use the fold out key attached to the back cover of this broc hure to help remind you of each fire’s features whilst browsing.
If you need further information on any fire, this can be found in the technical section on pages 122-138.
67
Remote Controls
Gazco was the first UK company to introduce remote controls for gas
fires. Today, our Command remote control systems allow most fires to be
upgraded to remote control. Simply use the fold out key at the back of this
brochure to choose which remote control is most suitable for your needs.

Logic IPF
Logic
Logic Fires are available in 16” widths and are the easiest of all
our fires to install, giving you excellent value for money through
reduced installation costs. The Logic fires are available in Hotbox,
Convector and IPF Convector versions and are all “Reduced
Draught" fires, meaning that in all cases a wall or floor vent is not
required. For a more detailed description of Hotbox, Convector and
IPF fires please see pages 120-121.
E-Box
TM
This top-of-the-range 16” wide fire provides exceptional heating
efficiency and much improved fuel economy. Set behind a virtually
invisible glass window, Gazco’s technology has created a fire that
offers considerably lower running costs through increased efficiency
(ie. gas consumption is lower so saving you money). Available in
conventional and Balanced flue options.
E-Studio
TM
Very high efficiency 16” wide fires that are set behind a virtually invisible
glass window. E-Studio™ fires successfully combine the technology of
E-Box™ fires with the distinctive White Stone ribbon flame effect of the
Studio fires at the start of this broc hure.
Available in conventional and
Balanced flue options.
To further expand your
possibilities, this next section
of the brochure features a host
of frame designs which can be
matched with a number of
technically different fire choices,
allowing you to get not only
the perfect look but the most
suitable fire for your home.

VFC Tapered Fires
A Gazco VFC Tapered fire simply replaces an open fire in a
standard ‘chairbrick’ fireplace to offer comforting radiant heat and
provide an exceptional ‘real fire’ look but with all the convenience
of gas and, if you wish, even a remote control.
Another benefit is our superb VFC (variable flame control)
technology. This allows you to select the exact balance of flame,
glow and heat to suit your mood. Set to 'Blue' and the coals
glow brightly with a lower, translucent flame with a hint of blue.
Set to 'Yellow' and you will enjoy the yellow, flickering flames and
authentic atmosphere of a genuine fire.
Available in three width sizes and with a choice of Arts, Holyrood
or Spanish fronts in a variety of brass and cast iron finishes.

Fire Baskets
105
Fuels
Wood, coal and smokeless fuels
Most Gazco traditional fire baskets in this brochure are suitable for burning solid
fuels such as logs and coal as well as approved smokeless fuels.
Gas
All Gazco fire baskets can be specified for use with either Natural Gas or LPG.
Natural Gas is provided through mains pipelines, whilst LPG is usually supplied to
homes in rural areas from a tank in the garden or from gas bottles.
Electric
Many fire baskets are available with Gazco’s “electric coal effect” fan heater. These
will require a 13amp socket located within 1 metre of your fireplace.
Gas & Electric options
Gas fires
Fires with gas logs (1), driftwood (2), coals (3) or glass (4) are available for both
natural gas and LPG. The glass effect is only offered as an option with the Aspen,
Chamonix and Tahoe models. Please see page 137 for a full list of options.
Operation of your gas fire basket can be upgraded to Gazco’s Standard Command
remote control system. Available on all models except the Swan’s Nest, once
manually ignited, the handset allows you to alter flame height and heat output all
from the comfort of your armc hair!
Electric fires
Electric fires (5) provide you with the comforts of a warming, flickering coal effect
glow and a thermostatically controlled fan heater. They can be operated in three
modes – glow only, glow + 1kW of heat and glow + 2kW of heat – and, in most
cases, the fan heater can be discreetly hidden behind an optional ashpan cover
when not in use.
Custom-built gas fire baskets
If you have an existing g rate or basket, and would like the extra convenience of
a gas fire, then Gazco can provide you with a made-to-measure fire in a choice of
log, driftwood or coal effects. Please see pages 118-119 for details.

5 Electric fire with coal-effect
We offer a superb range of fire baskets, each one handcrafted using traditional
materials such as brass, steel, chrome and cast iron. Many are also offered in a choice
of sizes and in a variety of casting shapes or finishes. In fact, there are almost 100
combinations from which to select the perfect fire basket for your fireplace.
According to model, there is a choice of solid fuel, gas and electric fire baskets so
before you make your selection, speak to your local Gazco retailer about which option
is right for you and your chimney.

Additional Information
VFC Fires (See pages 68-69, 72-77, 80-93 and 96-97)
VFC Convector
Available in 16”, 18” and 22” widths and standard or low lintel heights,
the VFC Convector is suitable for brick chimneys only but offers the
additional benefits of a slightly deeper fuel bed and unique VFC (variable
flame control) system. The latter feature allows you to select the exact
balance of flame, glow and heat to suit your mood. Set to ‘Blue’ and
the fuel bed glows brightly with a lower, translucent flame with a hint of
blue. Set to ‘Yellow’ and you will enjoy the yellow, flickering flames and
authentic atmosphere of a genuine fire. VFC Convectors are available with
coal fuel beds and the option of a Standard remote control.
VFC Powered Flue
Convector
A Powered Flue Kit can be added
to the VFC Convector to allow
it to be installed in homes with
no chimney. This kit gives you
the flexibility of locating the fan
unit on an outside wall up to six
metres away from the fire, and to
incorporate bends in the flue (as
illustrated right).
Radiant Fires
These fires are for those who do not require the additional heat of a
convector or do not wish to refurbish an existing open fireplace, whether
conventional ‘chairbrick’ opening or traditional cast iron fireplace.
VFC Tapered Fires (See pages 100-101)
Providing the same unique variable flame control feature as the
VFC Convector, VFC Tapered Fires are designed for installation into
conventional 'chairbrick' fireplaces. They are available in 16”, 18” and
22” widths and, according to width, with a choice of Arts, Holyrood or
Spanish fronts in a variety of brass, chrome and cast iron finishes, as
shown on pages 102-103.
Radiant Fires for Classic Fireplaces (See pages 98-99)
These are non-VFC fires with shapes specially adapted to suit the cast
iron Classic Fireplaces manufactured by our sister company Stovax Ltd.
Alternatively, should you have an original period fireplace of this type, or
a reproduction, then we can generally produce a custom-built fire to meet
your needs. Your retailer will be pleased to give you further information.
Command remote controls:
Gazco was the first UK company to introduce remote controls for
gas fires. Today, our Command remote control systems allow most
fires to be upgraded, either at the time of purc hase or at a later
date, with either:
a) Standard upgradable remote control
Once the pilot light has been ignited manually you
can vary the flame height and heat output from
the comfort of your armc hair.
b) Programmable remote control
This deluxe version has two additional features.
The first allows you to thermostatically control the
room temperature whilst the second allows you
to programme your fire to switch itself on and
off twice a day. Use both and you can even come
home to a glowing fire that has heated the room
to the temperature you select!
Some fires in the Gazco range come with the remote included
with the product, these are:
c) Open Studio sequential remote control
With this infra red remote control, you do not need
to light the pilot manually as the whole operating
sequence (on/off and flame height heat output) is
activated from the handset itself.
d) Glass Fronted Studio and Linea
sequential remote
This programmable, radio frequency remote control
offers all of the features of the Open Studio
sequential remote but with the additional benefits
of programmable thermostatic and timer functions.
e) Logic IPF remote control
This sequential remote differs in design to those
illustrated above, although offering similar features.
Please ask your Gazco dealer for further details.
f) Electric Riva
This remote operates the electric Riva, allowing
you at the touch of a button to choose between
four different flame effects, with or without heat.
121
Gazco's impressive choice of fires with a selection of fire fronts. The types of fire
available with each frame and front are listed in the main brochure.
Logic Fires (See pages 68-77 and 80-97)
Logic Hotbox
The 16” Logic Hotbox is suitable for all chimney types and has been
designed to meet the requirements of today’s modern homes where
central heating is the norm and only a precast flue has been supplied
by the builder. It provides a superb focal point and ambience but without
the additional heat emitted by a convector. You may choose coal or
pebble fuel beds and there is the option of a Standard remote control.
Logic Convectors
The Logic 16” Convector is a highly efficient, all-new engine that is
suitable for all chimney types. It differs from the Hotbox, however, by
incorporating a convection system that provides virtually twice the
heating efficiency, so there is even more heat going into your room. The
Logic Convector is available with coal or pebble fuel beds, both offering
an excellent look and realistic flames, and the option of a Standard
remote control.
Logic IPF Convector
There is also an IPF (Integral Powered Flue)
version of the Logic Convector for homes
without a chimney. All you need is to be able
to position the fire on an outside wall so that
the flue can go straight through (as pictured
right). It is available with coal fuel bed and
supplied complete with Sequential remote
control.
The Logic IPF has also been specially
developed for cavity wall properties and has been cleverly designed to
use the gap in the wall to save space. You can either recess the fire
into the inner skin of the wall or recess the fan unit into the outer skin.
Alternatively, with non-cavity walls you can construct a false chimney
breast in your room.
Just as importantly, the Logic IPF incorporates the very latest integrated
electronics that allow all functions to be operated from its own, unique
remote control. There is no need to turn a fan on before igniting the fire
and no need for a permanent pilot light.

E-Box™ Fires (See pages 36-39, 42-43, 68-77 and 80-95)
This top-of-the-range, 16” wide engine provides exceptional heating
efficiency and much improved fuel economy. Set behind a virtually invisible
glass window, Gazco’s technology has created a design that offers
considerably lower running costs (gas consumption is lower so saving you
money). Furthermore, installation is not only simpler than larger glass-
fronted fires but also no hearth is required where the E-Box™ is fitted
50mm (2”) above floor level – ideal for hole-in-the-wall settings.
Conventional Flue
The E-Box™ can be installed into all chimney types and has high
efficiency levels of up to 76%. The conventional flue E-Box™ is
available with coal or pebble fuel beds and the option of Standard or
Programmable remote controls.
Balanced Flue version
If you do not have a c himney there is the option of a balanced flue
E-Box™. Not only can this be easily fitted to homes with no chimney,
but the balanced flue version additionally allows for greater combustion
control and even higher efficiency levels of up to 86%. This version is
also available with coal or pebble fuel beds and the option of Standard
or Programmable remote controls.
E-Studio™ Fires
(See pages 36-41, 68-73, 76-77, 80-83 and 94-95)
This premium 16” wide engine provides high heating efficiency with a
contemporary fresh look. Set behind a virtually invisible glass window,
the E-Studio™ boasts a stunning ribbon flame effect combined with
Gazco’s latest technology, to create a stylish design and lower running
costs (gas consumption is lower so saving you money).
Conventional Flue
The E-Studio™ can be installed into all chimney types and has high
efficiency levels of up to 72%. The conventional flue E-Studio™ is
available with the option of Standard or Programmable remote controls.

Installing Televisions above Open Fronted Studio Fires On a normal flue which is functioning correctly, Open Fronted Studio's do not create
a particularly hot environment on the wall above where they are installed. Accordingly, it may be possible to install Plasma or LCD TV's above them,
as long as the distance to the TV is a minimum of 450mm from the top of the fire and as long as it has been checked with the TV manufacturers
installation instructions with regard to installation and heat proximity. If in doubt please contact and check with your TV manufacturer.
Glass Fronted Studio Fires Gazco does not recommend installation of televisions above Glass Fronted Studio fires.

CHIMNEY TYPES
Studio 1
sClass 1 brick built flue
a) Can be fitted without the optional flue gather if the chimne y is sound.
b) If the optional gather is used, then it must be connected to a 7" flexible
flue liner suitable for gas.
sPre-fabricated 7" twin wall flue system suitable for gas
a) Must be fitted with the optional flue gather.
Conventional Flue
Installation
The conventionally flued
Glass Fronted Studio has
been designed with ease of
installation in mind and can
be installed two ways:
1) Direct connection to a
5" flue liner
or
5" twin wall gas vent
system
2) No additional fluing is
needed when it is
installed into an existing
builders opening
below a masonry
chimney and sealed
to the fireplace opening
(assuming that the

GLASS FRONTED STUDIO EDGE INSTALLATION OPTIONS
Edge Kit – this kit is screw-mounted to the front flange of the outer firebox.
The L-shaped attachments can either provide a 20mm return against which high
temperature plasterboard/screed can be butted up for the ‘clean edge’ look or, if
the firebox flange is on the outside of a brick or stud work wall, allow ceramic or
stone tiles to be fixed with a similar look. The Edge Kit is finished in black to
complement the Studio.
Cool Wall Kit – again, screw-mounted to the front flange of the outer firebox,
the 60mm deep U-shaped attachments of the Cool Wall kit are designed primarily
for studwork false chimney breasts. The additional depth allows some of the
heat to be vented up into the void above the firebox and then re-enter the room
at a higher level. The effect is to produce a cooler wall immediately above the
appliance than would otherwise be the case. The Cool Wall Kit is left unfinished so
that it can be painted to match the front face of your fireplace.

NB: When using the Edge Kit, heat resistant board and high temperature
finishing plaster must be used. Please refer to installation instructions
for full details.
NB: Full installation information, including the requirement for the use of noncombustible materials, can be downloaded from www.gazco.com
When using the Edge Kit the fire is recessed by 20mm from the finished
wall surface and the kit is finished in black to complement the Studio.
When using the Cool Wall Kit the fire is recessed by 60mm from the finished
wall surface and the kit is left unfinished so that it can be painted to match
your decor.

All specifications given in this brochure are approximate. Actual specifications for each individual product will
vary according to model. Your Gazco retailer will be pleased to provide any further information you require
or you may view/download specification sheets from www.gazco.com
Installation
Gazco gas fires must be fitted by a qualified gas installer (CORGI registered in the UK) who should also verify
the proposed site conditions are fully suitable for the product selected. Complete installation instructions for
many models can be obtained prior to purchase by downloading them from www.gazco.com
Colours
Owing to variations in studio lighting and printing inks, the finishes/colours of fires illustrated in this
brochure may differ slightly from actual models. Before purchasing, please ask your retailer to show you
finish/colour samples.
Care and maintenance
Traditional materials, such as polished steel and brass, tarnish on contact with air, especially when also
exposed to heat. To help minimise this effect, we recommend fires receive regular treatment with Stovax
Steel Cleaner and Stovax Brass & Copper Polish. Other surfaces can be maintained from time to time with
Stovax Stainless Steel Cleaner and Stovax Traditional Black Grate Polish. Additionally, please remember that
gas fires will require servicing annually by a CORGI registered engineer.
Product improvement
Gazco's policy is one of constant product improvement. Appliances may therefore sometimes differ from
the descriptions or illustrations in this brochure.
Please note: The operation and appearance of gas appliances depends on variable factors such as gas
pressure supplied and exact fire conditions.
