SELECTING A LOCATION
Your Security Safe should be installed in an isolated, dry and secure area. For greater security the safe must be fastened to a solid surface.
SECURING THE SAFE
Locate the (2) mounting hole locations on the inside bottom of the safe under the paper stickers. It will be necessary to make a clearance hole through the safe insulation using a drill. Drill holes through the insulation using the same diameter drill as the diameter of the mounting hardware you are using. IMPORTANT: The fasteners you use must completely fill the hole you drilled in the insulation. (figure 1) You must use the fasteners after you drill the holes. Failure to do so will void the fire rating.
Through the clearance holes, mark the hole locations on the mounting surface. Drill the appropriate diameter and depth of pilot holes depending on the type of hardware being used and the type of mounting surface. Secure the safe with the fasteners. (figure 2)
NOTE: The safe needs to be upright and right side up or the locking mechanism won't work.
IMPORTANT
Keep your combination number and keys in a secure place, away from children. Keep this record of your serial number, combination number and key number in a secure place separate from your safe. You will need the serial number as a reference for obtaining a copy of your combination number or replacement keys.
To obtain a copy of your combination number and/or to order a replacement key set, follow the instructions on the attached form.
