Some things never go out of style. And we designed Chairman to be one of them. While the sleek lines that have defined
C h a i r m an’s quintessential European styling since its introduction in 1998 remain largely unchanged, we gave the new Chairman
a notably more sculpted, masculine look. At the same time, we embraced the latest advances in optics technology, giving
Chairman powerful new projection headlights and LED signal lights. These and a host of other subtle refinements make the new
Chairman a perfect balance of classic form and modern function that’s destined to become an elegant new luxury classic.

LUXURY DRIVEN
Luxury is more than just a list of fancy options. It is an experience of total quality and comfort. And the new Chairman doesn’t
disappoint. Soft leather seats and tasteful faux walnut trim set the mood for comfort. Starting with driver conveniences like an 8way power seat with position memory for three drivers, we added a sophisticated new black-face instrument cluster with calming
LED backlighting and a convenient overhead storage console with room for a pair of sunglasses and pens. Each seat now has a
warmer with five comfort levels, and the VIP Seat package in limousine models gives the right rear passenger an extra measure
of pampering with a power back massager and legrest. These and options like a 13-speaker DVD car theater system, 7-inch
widescreen LCD monitor, and full audio system control from the rear seats are why every moment in the new Chairman is a
moving experience.

While classic styling may be timeless, technology is anything but. That’s why we gave the new Chairman some of the most
advanced engineering and electronics available. Chairman’s quietly muscular 3.2-, 2.8-liter DOHC engines and silky smooth TTronic 5-speed Mercedes-Benz automatic will effortlessly power you into the fast lane of life. Every major vehicle subsystem is
linked by a “CAN bus” or controller area network that enables Chairman to achieve superior performance at all levels. The
sophisticated damper-strut front and modular multi-link rear suspensions are equally impressive, particularly when combined with
the electronically controlled suspension option. Chairman’s ECS system monitors the speed, braking force, and lateral and
vertical motion of each wheel, continuously and independently adjusting damping for agile handling and an ultra-smooth ride.
And that’s why every Chairman trip is a comfortably memorable one.

Driver safety features
Cars are always judged by how well they protect in accidents. We designed the new Chairman to be judged by how well it avoids
them. Chairman improves nighttime visibility with electrochromatic mirrors that automatically adjust to prevent glare. Backing
safety is enhanced by sideview mirrors that automatically tilt downward as well as an obstacle warning system and rearview
camera. The new Chairman also has a next-generation ABS and traction control system known as ESP or electronic stability
program. ESP continuously compares driver control input with vehicle response, intelligently applying braking to prevent
oversteer and understeer. When the unavoidable happens, Chairman reacts in the blink of an eye, deploying the air bags as
the brake pedal swings up and away from the driver’s legs. An advanced forked-member front structure also provides
outstanding passenger compartment protection, a key reason Chairman far exceeds U.S. safety standards in the benchmark
40% offset collision test. And that’s the kind of peace of mind you can count on when you own a Chairman.
