Topic: Service Parts for New DST40-(P) Tandem Drive Axle Models
Affected Models: DST40, DST40-P, DDT40, DDT40-P, RST40,
DST41, DST41-P, DDT41, DDT41-P, RST41
A new single speed tandem drive axle series has been released, the DST40-(P). This bulletin details key service parts
information that is essential when servicing these models.

FORWARD AXLES: DST40-(P), DDT40-(P), DST41-(P), DDT41-(P)
All forward models should be serviced the same as the DS404-(P) family models in all aspects. For reference the
DST40-(P) models have a standard housing wall thickness of (3/8” 9.5mm) while the DST41-(P) models have a housing
wall thickness of (7/16” 11mm). Use the current DS404 IPL AXIP-0200 dated December 2004 for servicing these
particular models. If replacing a complete a DST40-(P) or DST41-(P) carrier use the service carrier part numbers listed for
the DS404-(P) models.
REAR AXLES: RST40, RST41
The rear rear models are unique in design and require their own listing of service parts and carriers assemblies. The
service kits and exchange carriers are shown below.
NOTE: Wheel Differential Lock only available only on “forward” models in this axle series.
