SpeakerCraft EazyR-2 Owner's Manual Addendum

Page 1
INTRODUCTION
This addendum should only be read after you become familiar with the basic programming functions of the EazyR-2 remote in the main owner’s manual. This assumes you are then familiar with the basic setup procedure for entering Library Codes and the procedure for learning IR codes.
IR LIBRARIES & OVERLAYS
We have included special IR code libraries and overlays for the SoundSource and Eazy6 in our new EazyR-2 remote.
The EazyR-2 comes with both sets of codes installed in its library. The AMP Source button is the button that you would normally use for either the SoundSource or the Eazy6.
The factory default under the AMP button is the SoundSource Code Set (# 0839), which can be changed to the Eazy6 Code Set (# 1114). More on how to accomplish this later.
Three overlays for the lower 12 buttons are included: 1 for the SoundSource, 1 for the Eazy6, and a blank overlay. (See Figure 1)

LOCKING/UNLOCKING IR LIBRARIES
The EazyR-2 remote comes factory defaulted (and locked) to the SoundSource Code Set under the AMP button. All other sources are available for use with any of the installed IR libraries or the IR codes can be individually learned.
A Source button (i.e., AUX, CBL, VCR, TV, SAT, CD, AMP, or TNR) and its associated library can be Locked or Unlocked for Code Set changes as follows:
Press a Source button -> then SETUP
-> then 9 - 8 - 2.
This is a toggle function so it will alternate from Locked to Unlocked each time you go through the SETUP -> then 9 - 8 - 2 sequence. The LED will blink twice when locked and 4 times when unlocked.
For example: If you want to unlock the fixed, factory default for the AMP button, which is the SoundSource, you would:
Press the AMP button -> then SETUP -> then 9 - 8 - 2. The LED should blink 4 times indicating that it is unlocked and can then be programmed with any other Library Code Set. Follow the setup procedure in the main owner’s manual.
To change it to the default Eazy6 Code Set however, additional steps are required after the unlock steps above.

IR LIBRARY CONFIRMATION
Anytime that you want to confirm what library code group is under a particular Source button, do the following:
Push the Source button -> SETUP (two blinks) -> 9 - 9 - 0 (two blinks)
-> 1 (count blinks) -> 2 (count blinks)
-> 3 (count blinks) -> 4 (count blinks). The number of blinks after pressing each digit represents the 4 digit code for that particular Source button
DEFAULT RESET
There is a reset sequence that you can use to restore everything not related to IR Code Set assignments, back to the factory defaults. Reassignments you may have done of SpeakerCraft Code Sets using the SETUP -> then 9 - 8 - 7 sequence are not affected.
Push the SETUP button -> 9 - 8 - 0. The LED will flash 2 times, pause, and then 2 more times to confirm a successful reset.
CAUTION: Enter these numbers exactly as shown. Otherwise, you can erase part of the library if another set of numbers is entered.
BASIC USER RESET
This reset is similar to the above, except it clears all user code assignments, including SpeakerCraft Code Sets, and returns everything back to basic factory defaults.
Push the SETUP button -> 9 - 7 - 7. The LED will flash 2 times, pause, and then 2 more times to confirm a successful reset.
Note: To restore the SpeakerCraft Code Sets, use the SETUP -> then 9 -
8 - 7 sequence explained previously.
CAUTION: Be careful when using
these Resets. You could erase a lot of work, including learned commands.

Press the AMP button -> then SETUP
-> then 9 - 8 - 7 (red LED blinks twice) -> then 1 - 1 - 1 - 4 (red LED blinks twice). Note: The code assignment automatically locks after this sequence.
You can also place the Eazy6 Code Set, or the SoundSource Code Set, under any of the other Source buttons as well. Simply follow the same procedures as given above, using Source buttons and SpeakerCraft
Code Sets, as desired.
MAPPING IR LIBRARIES
The table below indicates the “mapping” of the various IR code libraries and what source keys can be used for IR code libraries other than the ones that are labeled with the Source button text.
For instance, a DVD’s IR code library can be assigned to the VCR or the AUX source buttons.
Through some very flexible programming, the installer is not limited to just using the above mentioned source buttons and their respective code libraries. You can reassign a source button’s code library to another source button.
For instance, if you are not using the Cable (CBL) button, and you want another button to place the DVD IR code library, you can reassign the Aux mapping (which contains the DVD library) to the Cable button as follows:
Push the SETUP button -> 9 - 9 - 2
- AUX - CBL. The LED will flash twice to indicate a successful reassignment. You can now use the Cable button for any of the Aux mapped IR code libraries.
