1. Battery and Power switch

2. Open the Lens Cover 3. Open the Viewfinder

4. Switch to AUTO

When you use AUTO mode iris, gain, focus and white

balance are all adjusted automatically.

5. Insert an SD card to slot A

6. ND Filter

Indoors = OFF
Bright Sun = 3

7. Adjust the Zoom

8. Switch sound to INT and AUTO
*Put All switches to UP

This bypasses the radio mic and

records sound from in the camera

9. Press the Red button to begin

RECORDING

Check the picture on the display - REC shows it is recording

TV News – Radio mic - Quick Start

Basic set up only records sound from the internal camera microphones.
Follow these steps to use the radio microphone and check sound quality with headphones

1. Switch on Radio mic transmitter

and receiver

Press each power button for 2 seconds

2. Check the fitting of mic and receiver on the camera,

Input 1… Radio mic
Input 2… Sony ambience mic

Check cables are not in the way of the lens

3. Check the cables and switch settings

A. Input 1. Radio microphone cable connection
B. Input 2. Sony ambience mic cable connection
C. INPUT 1 SWITCH set to MIC
D. INPUT 2 SWITCH set to MIC+48V

4. Set the switches and level controls

E. Set CH1 to INPUT 1
F. Set CH2 to INPUT 2
G. Set Audio level to AUTO or MAN (manual)
H. Adjust audio levels if you selected Manual

Keep an eye on the audio level in the viewfinder

5. Press the STATUS CHECK button to

see an enlarged Audio meter display

Set levels to average voice at -20 to -10

6. Check CH1 and CH2 sound recording quality using

headphones and the HEADPHONE MONITOR switch.
