XA-113

Caution

•This unit is designed for negative earth 12 V DC
operation only.

•Before making connections, turn the car ignition
off to avoid short circuits.

•Connect the yellow and red power input leads
only after all other leads have been connected.

•Be sure to connect the red power input lead to the
positive 12 V power terminal which is powered
when the ignition switch is in the accessory
position.

•Run all ground wires to a common earth point.

Notes on the power supply cord (yellow)

•When connecting the player in combination with
other stereo components, the connected car
circuit’s rating must be higher than the sum of
each component’s fuse.

•When no car circuits are rated high enough,
connect the unit directly to the battery.

Parts list (1)

The numbers in the list are keyed to those in the
instructions.

Cautions

•The screws attached to both sides of the player are
necessary only when transporting the player.
Before installing the player, be sure to take out all
of the screws (left side: 2 and right side: 2, so total
4 screws).

•The 4 screws work to mechanically support the
player during transportation, so keep the screws
for future transportation, such as relocation, etc.

2-B

First connect the black earth lead, then connect the
yellow and red power input leads.

(supplied with XVM-R70) connects the player MV-

101 and a connection box of XVM-R70.
(However, this connection is not available for XVM­R75)

Remote control sensor 7 and its extension cord 8
(supplied with MV-101)

Connect the remote control sensor 7 and its
extension cord 8 to the player MV-101 when XVM­R75, XVM-H6, or an optional monitor other than
Sony product is connected.

output on MV-101, so you can connect either XVM­R70 or XVM-H65.

nominal suficientemente alta, conecte la unidad
directamente a la batería.

Precauciones

•Los tornillos que se colocan a ambos lados del
reproductor sólo son necesarios para transportar
este último. Antes de instalar el reproductor,
compruebe que haya retirado todos los tornillos
(lado izquierdo: 2, lado derecho: 2, 4 tornillos en
total).

•Los 4 tornillos sirven de soporte mecánico para el
transporte del reproductor. Consérvelos para un
uso futuro, como por ejemplo un cambio de
ubicación.

Precautions

•Choose the mounting location carefully.

•Avoid installing the player in places:
— subject to temperatures below – 30 °C or

above 45 °C .
— subject to direct sunlight.
— subject to heat ;

Keep all products away from nearby hot

vehicle components that heat up over time

such as hoses, high current wires, and

braking system components. Make sure to

leave enough room for ventilation of

openings and slots to protect from over

heating.
— near heat sources such as heaters.
— exposed to rain or moisture.
— exposed to excessive dust or dirt.
— subject to excessive vibration.
— where the fuel tank might be damaged by

the tapping screws.
— where wire harnesses or pipes might be

under the place.
— where the screws or the player itself might

damage the spare tire, tools, or other

equipment in or under the trunk.
— where the player might interfere with the

normal movements of the driver.
— under the floor carpet, as the heat

dissipation from the player might damage

the carpet.

•Be sure to use only the supplied mounting
hardware for a safe and secure installation.

•Use only the supplied screws.

•Make holes of ø 3 mm only after making sure
there is nothing on the other side of the
mounting surface.

•Do not install the player on inclined places.
Install the player on a level surface.

•Install the player just horizontally or vertically.

Notes on installation

• Before installation, be sure to turn the ignition
switch to the OFF position or take the key out.
Installing the player and the monitor (not
supplied) with the ignition on may cause
battery drain or a short circuit.

• Do not damage any pipes, tubes, the fuel tank
or electric wiring when installing the player
and the monitor (not supplied). This can cause
a fire. If you drill a hole in car panels, make
sure that any hidden car parts will not be
damaged.

• Do not use any nuts or bolts for safety devices
such as steering linkage, fuel supply or
braking systems. This can cause a fire or an
accident.

• Take care to prevent cords and wires from
getting tangled or crimped in the moving
portion of a seat rail.

How to install the player (3)

When installing the player, choose the mounting
location carefully.

1 Place the player where you plan to install

it.

2 Mark the 4 positions for the holes of the

screws 3 on the surface of the mounting
board (not supplied).

The supplied mounting screws 3 are 15 mm
long, so make sure that the mounting board is
thicker than 15 mm.

3 Drill the 4 positions to make the holes of ø

3 mm in diameter.

4 Mount the player on the board (not

supplied) with the parts 1 and mounting
screws of 2 and 3.

Remote control sensor (4)

Before installing the remote control sensor,
make sure the maximum signal distance of
remote control. The remote control can be used
up to approximately 3 m from the light sensor,
in a conical area spreading roughly 15º from the
light sensor.

Note

Clean the mounting surface before attaching the
double-sided tape 4.

For your safety

After installing the remote control sensor, be
sure to use the cord cramp (not supplied) to
secure up the cord onto the passenger seat side,
as it may interfere with the normal driving
operation. It is very dangerous for the cord to
get tangled with the gearshift lever during
driving.

Warning when installing in a car
without ACC (accessory)
position on the ignition key
switch

After turning off the ignition, be sure to
press and hold the POWER button on the
card remote commandar for more than 2
seconds. Make sure that the green light of
the POWER button on the player is turned
off.

Otherwise, the player is not turned off and this
causes battery drain.

RESET button

When the installation and connections are
completed, be sure to open the front panel, then
press the RESET button with a ballpoint pen, etc.

Precauciones

— bajo la alfombra del vehículo, ya que la

ventilación del reproductor podría dañarla.

•Para realizar una instalación segura, emplee
solamente la ferretería de montaje
suministrada.

•Utilice sólo los tornillos suministrados.

•Antes de hacer los orificios de ø 3 mm,
compruebe que no haya nada en el otro lado
de la superficie de montaje.

•No instale el reproductor en lugares
inclinados. Instálelo en una superficie plana.

•Instale el reproductor únicamente en posición
horizontal o vertical.

Sobre la instalación

• Antes de realizar la instalación, asegúrese de
colocar la llave de encendido en posición OFF
o de retirarla por completo. Si instala el
reproductor y el monitor (no suministrado)
mientras el automóvil está encendido, es
posible que se agote la batería o que se
produzca un cortocircuito.

• No dañe ningún tubo, conducto, cableado
eléctrico ni el tanque de combustible al instalar
el reproductor y el monitor (no suministrado).
Esto puede causar un incendio. Si va a realizar
una perforación en los paneles del auto,
asegúrese de no dañar los componentes
ocultos del mismo.

• No utilice tuercas ni tornillos de dispositivos
de seguridad como el mecanismo de la
dirección o los sistemas de suministro de
combustible o frenos. Esto puede ocasionar un
incendio o un accidente.

• Asegúrese de evitar que los cables y alambres
se enreden o se doblen en la parte móvil del
riel de los asientos.

Instalación del reproductor (3)

Cuando instale el reproductor, elija
cuidadosamente la ubicación de instalación.

1 Coloque el reproductor en el lugar

previsto para su instalación.

2 Marque las 4 posiciones para los orificios

de los tornillos 3 en la superficie de la
placa de montaje (no suministrada).

Los tornillos de montaje 3 suministrados
tienen una longitud de 15 mm, por lo que
deberá asegurarse de que la placa de montaje
tiene un grosor superior a 15 mm.

3 Perfore las 4 posiciones de modo que los

orificios tengan un diámetro de ø 3 mm.

4 Instale el reproductor en la placa (no

suministrada) con las piezas 1 y los
tornillos de montaje 2 y 3.

Sensor del control remoto (4)

Antes de instalar el sensor del control remoto,
confirme su distancia máxima de señal. El
control remoto se puede usar hasta una distancia
máxima de señal de 3 m del sensor de luz y
dentro de un área cónica que se extiende
aproximadamente 15º del sensor de luz.

Nota

Limpie la superficie de montaje antes de instalar la
cinta de doble cara 4.

Para su seguridad

Después de instalar el sensor de control remoto,
asegúrese de utilizar una abrazadera de cables
(no suministrada) para fijar el cable en el lado
del asiento del pasajero, puesto que podría
interferir en las maniobras de conducción
habituales. Puede ser muy peligroso si el cable
se enreda con la palanca del cambio de marchas
mientras se conduce.

Advertencia sobre la instalación
en un automóvil que no
disponga de posición ACC
(accesorios) en el interruptor de
la llave de encendido

Después de desactivar el encendido del
automóvil, asegúrese de mantener
presionado el botón POWER del control
remoto de tarjeta durante más de 2
segundos. Compruebe que la luz verde del
botón POWER del reproductor esté
apagada.

De lo contrario, el reproductor no se apagará y
la batería se descargará.

Botón RESET

Cuando finalice la instalación y las conexiones,
abra el panel frontal y presione el botón RESET
con un objeto puntiagudo, como por ejemplo un
bolígrafo, etc.
