the model used for illustration purposes.
Their differences are shown in the table below:

There is no difference between M-575V and M-570V and between M­475 and M-470 except for the supplied accessories.
M-575V consists of M-570V Microcassette recorder and accessories.

Preparing Power Sources

Choose one of the following power sources.

Dry Batteries

Make sure that nothing is connected to the DC IN 3V jack.

1 Open the battery compartment lid.
2 Insert two R03 (size AAA) batteries with correct polarity and

close the lid.

accidentally detached

When to replace the batteries

Replace the batteries with new ones of the same kind when the
REC/BATT (M-575V/570V) or BATT (M-475/470) lamp dims.

Notes

• The unit will play back normally for a while, even after the REC/BATT
(M-575V/570V) or BATT (M-475/470) lamp flashes. However, replace
the batteries as soon as you can. Otherwise, the built-in speaker may
emit a loud noise and recordings may not be made correctly.

• In the following cases you do not need to replace the batteries:
– if the REC/BATT (M-575V/570V) or BATT (M-475/470) lamp flashes

with the playback sound when you turn up the volume.

– if the REC/BATT (M-575V/570V) or BATT (M-475/470) lamp lights

momentarily when the tape starts running or at the end of the tape.

– if the REC/BATT (M-575V/570V) or BATT (M-475/470) lamp flashes

during FF/REW or CUE/REVIEW.

• Do not touch the AC power adaptor with wet hands.

• Connect the AC power adaptor to an easily accessible mains. Should
you notice an abnormality in the AC power adaptor, disconnect it from
the mains immediately.

AC-E30HG is not commercially available in Taiwan.

Recording

You can record right away with the built-in microphone.

1 Press the reset button of the tape counter (M-575V/570V

only).

2 Press Tx and insert a standard microcassette with the side

to start recording facing the lid.

3 Select the desired tape speed.

2.4 cm for optimum sound (recommended for normal use):
A 30-minute recording can be made using both sides of the
MC-30 microcassette (for supplied accessories, see
“Specifications”). There is a tactile dot on this side.

1.2 cm for longer recording time: A 60-minute recording can
be made using both sides of the MC-30 microcassette (for
supplied accessories, see “Specifications”).

4 Set VOR to OFF (M-575V/570V only).

If you set VOR to ON, the unit automatically starts
recording the sound and pauses when there is no sound
(you can save tapes and batteries).
When the sound is not loud enough, set it to OFF, or the unit
may not start recording.

5 Press z.

n is pressed simultaneously and recording starts.

While the tape runs, the REC/BATT lamp lights and flashes
depending on the strength of the sound (M-575V/570V
only).
Recording level is fixed.

At the end of the tape, recording stops and the unit turns off
automatically (Automatic shut-off mechanism).

Note

Select the 2.4 cm tape speed for recording, if you play back the recorded
tape with another unit. Otherwise, the sound quality may be changed.

Notes on VOR (Voice Operated Recording) (M-575V/570V
only)

• The VOR system is affected by the environmental recording conditions.
When you use the system in a noisy place, the unit will stay in the
recording mode. If the sound is too soft, on the contrary, the unit will
not start recording. If you cannot get the results you want, set it to OFF.

• The VOR system may not record the beginning of the sound you want
to record because it starts recording only after it catches the sound. For
an important recording, set it to OFF.

To monitor the sound

Connect an earphone (not supplied) firmly to the EAR jack. The
monitor volume cannot be adjusted by VOL.

To prevent a cassette from being accidentally recorded
over

Break off and remove the cassette tabs. To reuse the cassette for
recording, cover the tab hole with adhesive tape.

1 Insert a cassette with the side to start playing facing the lid.
2 Select the tape speed to the same speed as that used for

recording.

3 Press n.
4 Turn VOL to adjust the volume. There is a tactile dot beside

VOL on to show the direction to turn up the volume.

At the end of the tape, playback stops and the unit turns off
automatically (Automatic shut-off mechanism). After the tape
has been wound or rewound, be sure to press Tx.

If you plug in headphones (not supplied) to the EAR jack, you
will get monaural output from both left and right channels.

Note

If the tape is completely rewound while searching backward during
playback (REVIEW), the FF/CUE m•M REW/REVIEW switch may
not return to the center position when you release the switch. In this case,
push back the switch to the center to start playback.

Precautions

On power

• Operate the unit only on 3 V DC.
For AC operation, use the AC power adaptor recommended for the
unit. Do not use any other type. For battery operation, use two R03 (size
AAA) batteries.

On the unit

• Use only the (standard microcassettes) with this unit.
Non-standard cassettes cannot be used because their “L” dimension
(see illustration) is different.

• Do not leave the unit in a location near heat sources, or in a place
subject to direct sunlight, excessive dust or mechanical shock.

• Should any solid object or liquid fall into the unit, remove the batteries
or disconnect the AC power adaptor, and have the unit checked by
qualified personnel before operating it any further.

• Keep personal credit cards using magnetic coding or spring-wound
watches, etc. away from the unit to prevent possible damage from the
magnet used for the speaker.

• When you do not use the unit for long, remove the batteries to avoid
damage caused by battery leakage and subsequent corrosion.

• If the unit has not been used for long, set it in the playback mode and
warm it up for a few minutes before inserting a cassette.

If you have any questions or problems concerning your unit, please
consult your nearest Sony dealer.

Troubleshooting

Should any problem persist after you have made these checks,
consult your nearest Sony dealer.

You cannot close the cassette compartment lid.

t The cassette is being inserted in the wrong way.
t n has been already pressed.
t The cassette is not being inserted completely.

The unit does not operate.

t The batteries have been inserted with incorrect polarity.
t The batteries are weak. Replace both batteries with new

ones.

t>PAUSE is slid in the direction of the arrow.
t The AC power adaptor is not firmly connected.
t The unit will not run on dry batteries if the AC power

adaptor is left plugged into the DC IN 3V jack even
though you disconnect the AC power adaptor from the
power source.

Recording cannot be made.

t There is no cassette in the cassette compartment.
t The tab on the tape has been removed. To reuse the tape

for recording, cover the tab hole with adhesive tape.

t The batteries are weak. Replace both batteries with new

ones.

Recording is interrupted.

t The VOR switch is set to ON. When you do not use VOR,

set it to OFF (M-575V/570V only).

Recording cannot be erased completely.

t The head is contaminated. See “Maintenance”.

Playback cannot be made.

t The tape has reached the end. Rewind the tape.

No sound comes from the speaker.

t The earphone is plugged in. Unplug it.
t The volume is turned down completely.

The sound drops out or comes with excessive noise.

t The volume is turned down completely.
t The batteries are weak. Replace both batteries with new

ones.

t The head is contaminated. See “Maintenance”.
t Direct placement of the cassette tape on the speaker

resulted in magnetization and deteriorated tonal quality.

t Use the unit away from radiowave-emitting devices such

as cellular phones.

Tape speed is too fast or too slow or the sound is
distorted in the playback mode.

t Improper setting of the TAPE SPEED switch. Set it to the

same speed as that used for recording.

t The batteries are weak. Replace both batteries with new

ones.

During CUE/REVIEW the tape stops or does not run.
You cannot fast-forward or rewind.

t The batteries are weak. Replace both batteries with new

ones.

To clean the tape head and path

Press n and wipe the head, capstan and the pinch roller with a
cotton swab, moistened with alcohol every 10 hours of use.

To clean the exterior

Use a soft cloth slightly moistened in water. Do not use alcohol,
benzine or thinner.

准备电源

操作时，有下列电源可供选用。

干电池

请按正确极性插入
电池。

要以干电池操作时，DC IN 3V 插孔里不可连接任何电线。

1 打开电池室盖。
2 装入两个 R03（AAA，7号）电池，装时须按照正确极性方向

装入，然后盖上盖子。

什么时候需要更换电池

REC/BATT(M-575V/570V)或 BATT(M-475/470)灯暗淡

注

机器仍可正常地播放一段时间，但是必须尽快更换电池。如果不换电池，

音质最佳的速度为 2.4cm（平常请以此速度放音）：使用
MC-30 微型卡带（有关附件的内容，请参阅“规格”）的正反
两面可以进行 30分钟的录音。

这面有一个触点。

要进行较长录音时的速度为 1.2cm：使用 MC-30 微型
卡带（有关附件的内容，请参阅“规格”）的正反两面可以进
行60分钟的录音。

4 把 VOR 开关设定在 OFF（仅适用于 M-575V/570V）。

若把VOR开关设定在ON，则录音机将在发出声音时自动
开始录音，没有声音时自动暂停下来（可以节省磁带及电池之
消耗）。

要录的声音若不够大，把 VOR 开关设定在OFF，否则便
无法令录音机开始录音。

5 按 z 键。

n 即同时被按下而开始录音。录音带一开始卷动，REC/

BATT 指示灯便发亮并按照声音强弱而闪烁（仅适用于 M­575V/570V）。

录音电平是固定的。

到达磁带末端时，录音停止并且本机自动关闭（自动关机机

制）。

注

要播放以其他录音机录音的磁带时，把磁带速度设定在 2.4cm 之处。否

则会影响放音时的音质。

关于 VOR (Voice Operated Recording) 开关的注意事项

（仅适用于 M-575V/570V）

• VOR 系统受环境录音条件影响。当在嘈杂的地方使用该系统时，本机将
一直处于录音状态。如果声音太轻，本机也不会开始录音。如果不能获得
理想的效果，请将其设为 OFF。

• VOR 系统可能没有录下要录声音的开始部分，因为只有它捕获到声音后
才开始录音。对于重要的录音，请将其设为 OFF。

若要一面录音一面监听所录着的声音

在EAR插孔连接耳机（无附带）。 监听器的音量是不能用VOL

调整的。

为防止所录的地方因重录而被误消掉

拆掉录音卡带盒背的录音防止保险片。要再以那盒卡带录音

时，在拆掉保险片的小洞，贴张胶带就行。

使用前须知注意事项

电源须知

• 限用 3V DC 操作机器。

对于交流电操作，请使用推荐用于本机器的交流电源适配器。请勿使用任
何其他类型的适配器。对于电池操作，请使用两个 R03（七号，AAA）电
池。

录音机

• 本机只可使用注有 （标准微型卡带）的录音带。非标准

型的卡带本机不能使用，因为“L”尺寸不同（如图）。

• 不可把录音机放在热源附近，或直接受到阳光照射的地方，以及灰尘极多，

容易受震动之处。

• 如果有任何杂物或液体掉入录音机内部时，请取出电池或断开交流电源适

配器，由有资质的人员对录音机进行检查后方可继续使用。

• 不要把使用磁码的个人信用卡或发条手表等，放在录音机附近，以免受到

录音机里的扬声器磁性的影响，而损失功能。

• 若长期不使用录音机，请取出电池，以免电池溶液泄漏，损伤机体或腐蚀。

• 录音机若长期没使用，下一次要再使用时，先把录音机设定在放音状态，

使机器预热了几分钟，然后才插入录音带。

若对本机有任何疑问，请咨询最近的 Sony 经销店。

故障排除

若在经过自己进行下列检查调查以后，仍然不能使录音机恢复

正常的话，请向 Sony 经销店商量。

不能关闭卡带室盖。

t 录音带方向装反了。
t n 键已经被按下了。
t 录音带没有完全插入。

本机不工作。

t 电池装反了。
t 电池电量不足。请同时更换两个新电池。
t>PAUSE 往箭头方向移动了。
t 交流电源适配器未牢固连接。
t 将交流电源适配器插入DC IN 3V 插孔时，即使从电源上断

开了交流电源适配器，也无法用电池操作机器。

不能录音。

t 卡带室里没装录音带。
t 磁带上的防录保险片被拆掉了。要使磁带能重新录音，用胶

带覆盖保险片孔。

t 电池用完了。请用新电池更换两节旧电池。

录音中途停止。

t VOR开关被设为ON。当不使用VOR 时，请把它设为 OFF

（仅适用于 M-575V/570V）。

以前的录音不能完全消除。

t 磁头脏了。参看“维修”。

不能播放。

t 磁带已到头了。重绕磁带。

扬声器没有声音。

t 已插入耳机。请将其拔出。
t 音量被调到最小。

声音跳音或噪音太大。

t 音量被调到最小。
t 电池电量不足。请同时更换两个新电池。
t 磁头脏了。参看“维修”。
t 把卡带放在扬声器上导致磁化以及声音质量劣化。
t 在远离无线电发射设备如手机处使用本机。

磁带速度太快或太慢或者放音模式时声音失真。

t TAPE SPEED开关的设定不正确。把它设在和该磁带录音

时相同速度之处。

t 电池电量不足。请同时更换两个新电池。

CUE/REVIEW（提示／检阅）中，磁带停止或不走动。
不能进行快进或重绕。

t 电池电量不足。请同时更换两个新电池。

每使用过 10 小时以後，请以棉棒沾点酒精，擦拭磁头、输带

轴及压带胶轮。擦时，请先按 n 键。

机体外表的清洁

机体外表请以一稍微沾湿的柔软布块擦拭，不可使用酒精、汽

油或稀释剂。

準備電源

操作時，有下列電源可供選用。

乾電池

請按正確極性插入
電池。

要以乾電池操作時， DCIN 3V 插孔里不可連接任何電線。

1 打開電池座蓋。
2 裝入兩個 R03（AAA， 7 號）電池，裝時須按照正確極性方向裝

入，然後蓋上蓋子。

要取出電池時

電池座蓋意外掉落時請將其裝上

什麼時候需要更換電池

當 REC/BATT(M-575V/570V)或 BATT(M-475/470)燈暗淡時，即
更換同一類型的新電池。

註

• 即使 REC/BATT(M-575V/570V)或 BATT(M-475/470)燈開始閃爍後，本機仍

然可正常播放一段時間，但是請儘快更換電池。否則，內置揚聲器可能發
出噪聲，可能不能正常錄音。

• 如下狀況時，并不必更換電池﹕

– 調大音量時，如果隨播放聲而 REC/BATT(M-575V/570V)或 BATT(M-475/

470)燈起閃爍。

– 當開始走帶或到達磁帶末端時﹕REC/BATT(M-575V/570V)或BATT(M-475/

470)燈亮了一下。

– FF/REW（快進重繞）或 CUE/REVIEW（提示檢閱）操作中，如果

REC/BATT(M-575V/570V)或 BATT(M-475/470)燈起閃爍。

3 選擇錄音帶速度。

音質最佳的速度為 2.4cm（平常請以此速度放音）︰使用

MC-30 微型磁帶（有關附件的內容，請參閱“規格”）的正反兩
面可以進行 30 分鐘的錄音。

這面有一個觸點。

要進行較長錄音時的速度為 1.2cm ︰使用 MC-30 微型磁帶

（有關附件的內容，請參閱“規格”）的正反兩面可以進行60 分

鐘的錄音。

4 把 VOR 開關設定在 OFF（僅適用於 M-575V/570V）。

若把VOR開關設定在ON，則錄音機將在有聲音時自動開始
錄音，沒有聲音時自動暫停下來（可以節省磁帶及電池之消
耗）。

要錄的聲音若不夠大，可把 VOR 開關設定於 OFF ，否則便
無法令錄音機開始錄音。

5 按 z 。

n 即同時被按下而開始錄音。錄音帶一開始卷動， REC/

BATT 指示燈即點亮并按照聲音強弱而閃爍（僅適用於 M­575V/570V）。

錄音電平是固定的。

在磁帶末尾，錄音停止，機器自動關機（自動關機機制）。

暫停錄音 把 > PAUSE 開關往箭頭方向移動。

在播放之中直接開始錄音 在播放之中按壓 z（錄音機便進入錄音狀態）

設定在 M REW/REVIEW 之處。在錄音帶轉到要
收聽的地方時放開按鈕。

註

要播放以其他錄音機錄音的磁帶時，把磁帶速度設定在2.4cm處。否則

會影響播放音質。

關於 VOR(Voice Operated Recording)開關的注意事項

（僅適用於 M-575V/570V）

• VOR系統受環境錄音條件影響。當在嘈雜的地方使用該系統時，本機將一
直處於錄音狀態。如果聲音太輕，本機也不會開始錄音。如果不能獲得理
想的效果，請將其設為 OFF 。

• VOR系統可能沒有錄下要錄聲音的開始部分，因為只有它捕獲到聲音後才
開始錄音。對於重要的錄音，請將其設為 OFF 。

若要一面錄音一面監聽所錄聲音

把耳機（無附帶）牢固插入 EAR 插孔。監視器音量不能用 VOL

調整。

為防止所錄的地方因重錄而被誤消掉

拆掉錄音磁帶盒背的錄音保護小翼。要再以那盒磁帶錄音時，

請在拆掉保護小翼的凹孔上，貼張膠帶就行。

使用前須知注意

電源

• 本機只可使用 3V DC 直流電操作。

要以交流電操作時，請使用指定的交流電轉接器。不可使用其他轉接器。
要以電池操作時，請使用兩個 R03（AAA ， 7 號）電池操作。

錄音機

• 本機只可使用注有 （標準微型磁帶）的錄音帶。非標準

型的磁帶本機不能使用，因為“L”尺寸不同（如圖）。

• 不可把錄音機放在熱源附近，或可直接受到陽光照射的，以及多灰塵，有

震動的地方。

• 若有雜物或液體掉進機內，請取出電池，或拔下交流電轉接器，并經電氣

專業人員檢查以後，方可再行使用。

• 不要把涂有磁層的個人信用卡或發條手表等，放在錄音機附近，以免受到

錄音機里的揚聲器磁性的影響而損失功能。

• 若長期不使用電池，請取出，以免電池液腐蝕損壞機器。

• 錄音機若長期沒使用，下一次要再使用時，先把錄音機設定在播放狀態，

使機器預熱了几分鐘，然後才插入錄音帶。

若對本機有任何疑問，請洽詢最近的 Sony 經銷店。

故障排除

若在經過自己進行下列檢查調查以後，仍然不能使錄音機恢復

正常時，請洽詢 Sony 經銷店。

不能關閉磁帶座蓋。

t 錄音帶方向裝反了。
t n 鈕已經被按下了。
t 錄音帶沒有完全插入。

機器不操作。

t 電池裝錯了極性。
t 電池變弱了。請全更換兩個新電池。
t>PAUSE 滑向箭頭所指方向。
t AC 電源轉接器沒有牢固連接。
t 如果 AC 電源轉接器仍插在 DC IN 3V 插孔中，即使 AC 電源

轉接器已經和電源斷開，本機也不能使用乾電池。

不能錄音。

t 磁帶座裡沒裝磁帶。
t 磁帶上的小翼已被折除。您如果要再度使用此磁帶錄音，便

須用黏膠帶蓋住已折除了小翼的凹孔。

t 電池用完了。請用新電池更換兩節舊電池。

錄音中途停止。

t VOR開關設定為ON。當不使用VOR功能時，請將其設定為OFF

（僅適用於 M-575V/570V）。

錄音不能完全清除。

t 磁頭髒了。請參看“保養”。

不能播放。

t 磁帶已繞到盡頭。請繞回磁帶。

揚聲器沒聲音。

t 接插著耳機。請拔下耳機。
t 完全轉小了音量。

聲音脫落或噪音太大。

t 完全轉小了音量。
t 電池變弱了。請全更換兩個新電池。
t 磁頭髒了。請參看“保養”。
t 把所用磁帶放在揚聲器上至使磁帶受磁化而變了音質。
t 本機，請離開能發射無線電波的裝置，例如手機等使用。

播放模式時磁帶的速度太快或太慢或聲音失真。

t TAPE SPEED 開關設定得不當。請把它設定於與錄音時所用

速度一樣的位置。

t 電池變弱了。請全更換兩個新電池。

進行 CUE/REVIEW（提示檢閱）中，磁帶停止了或不轉動。
不能快進繞或繞回。

t 電池變弱了。請全更換兩個新電池。

每使用過 10 小時以後，請以棉棒沾點酒精，擦拭磁頭、輸帶

油或稀釋劑。
