When to change the batteries

Change the batteries when the sound becomes weak or distorted. Remove both of the old batteries and insert new ones.

• Align batteries correctly.

• Do not mix new and used batteries.

• The batteries cannot be charged.

• To avoid damage from possible battery leakage, remove the batteries when the unit will not be used for a long time.

Connect the earphone to the v jack. The speaker is deactivated when an earphone is connected.

Precautions

• Do not leave magnetic bank cards, magnetic train passes, or other cards containing magnetic information near the speaker. The information on the card may be erased by the magnetism inside the speaker.

Hinweise zu den Batterien

• Legen Sie die Batterien richtigherum ein.

• Verwenden Sie keine alte zusammen mit einer neuen Batterie.

• Trockenbatterien können nicht wieder aufgeladen werden.

• Nehmen Sie bei längerer Nichtverwendung die Batterien aus dem Gerät heraus, damit keine Schäden durch Auslaufen der Batterien entstehen können.

Zur besonderen Beachtung

• Wenn das Gehäuse verschmutzt ist, reinigen Sie es mit einem weichen, leicht mit einem milden Haushaltsreiniger angefeuchteten Tuch. Scharfe Reinigungsmittel und chemische Lösungsmittel dürfen nicht verwendet werden, da sie das Gehäuse angreifen.

• Halten Sie Kreditkarten mit Magnetcodierung von den Lautsprechern fern, da sonst die gespeicherten Informationen durch den Lautsprechermagneten gelöscht werden können.

Utilización de la radio

1 Para conectar la alimentación, deslice

Batterij-inleg

Wanneer de batterijen te vervangen

Wanneer het geluid van de radio zwakker of vervormd gaat klinken, dient u beide batterijen te vervangen. Verwijder de oude batterijen en plaats een stel nieuwe.

Voorzichtig met de batterijen

• Let op dat de batterijen in de juiste richting liggen.

• Gebruik niet tegelijk een oude en een nieuwe batterij.

• Tracht niet de batterijen op te laden.

• Om schade door eventuele batterijlekkage te voorkomen, kunt u de batterijen beter verwijderen wanneer u de radio voorlopig niet meer gebruikt.

Bediening van de radio

1 Om het apparaat in te schakelen,

schuift u de BAND keuzeschakelaar naar FM of AM (bij de ICF-8)/LW (bij de ICF-8L).

2 Stel de geluidssterkte naar wens in met

de VOL regelaar.

3 Stem met de TUNE afstemknop af op de

gewenste radiozender. Het TUNE afstemlampje licht op wanneer er een radiozender wordt ontvangen.

Uitschakelen van de radio

Schuif de BAND keuzeschakelaar in de OFF stand.

Luisteren via oortelefoon

Sluit een los verkrijgbare oortelefoon aan op de v stekkerbus. Zolang de oortelefoons is aangesloten, geeft de luidspreker geen geluid.

Voor betere radio-ontvangst

FM: Schuif de telescoopantenne uit en zet deze

in de stand waarbij de radio het best klinkt.

AM/LG: Draai de gehele radio in het horizontale

Draai de antenne niet.

Voorzorgsmaatregelen

• Leg geen diskettes, betaalkaarten of andere kaarten met een magnetische code dicht bij de luidspreker. Het magnetisch veld van de luidsprekermagneet kan dergelijke kaarten onbruikbaar maken.

Precauzioni

• Alimentare l'apparecchio solo a 3 V CC.

• Non lasciare schede bancarie magnetiche, schede telefoniche magnetiche e altre schede che contengono informazioni magnetiche vicino al diffusore. Le informazioni sulla scheda possono essere cancellate dal magnetismo all'interno del diffusore.
