Before operating the unit for the first time or
after replacing the car battery, you must reset
the unit.
Press the reset button with a pointed object,
such as a bail-point pen.
Attaching the front panel
Align part ® of the front panel to part ® of
the unit as illustrated, and push until it clicks.

■ • Pressing the reset button will erase the clock and some
memorized functions.
• When you connect the power supply cord to the unit or
reset the unit, wait for about 10 seconds before you insert
a disc. If you insert a disc within these 10 seconds, the .
unit will not be reset, and you will have to press the reset
button again.
Detaching the front panel
You can detach the front panel of this unit to
prevent the unit from being stolen.
1 Press rOFF).
2 Press (RELEASE) to Open up the front
panel. Then slide the front panel a little
to the left, and pull it off towards you.
Notes
• Be sure not to attach the front panel upside down.
• Do not press the front panel hard against the unit when
attaching it. Press it lightly against the unit.
• Do not press hard or put excessive pressure on the
display windows of the front panel.
• Do not expose the front panel to direct sunlight, heat
sources such as hot air ^cts, and do not leave it in a
humid place. Never leave it on the dashboard of a car
parked in direct sunlight where there may be a
considerable rise in temperature.
Caution alarm
If you turn the ignition key switch to the OFF
position without removing the front panel, the
caution alarm will beep for a few seconds
(only when the POWER SELECT switch is set
to the ® position).
Preparing the rotary
remote
When you mount the rotary remote, attach the
label in the illustration below.
* Be sure not to drop the panel when detaching it from the_
unit.
* If you press ( RELEASE) to detach the panel while the
unit is still on, the unit will turn off automatically to
prevent the speakers from being damaged.
* When you carry the front panel with you, put it in the
supplied front panel case.
Setting the clock
The dock uses a 12-hour digital indication.
Example; Set the clock to 10:08

Creating a program
— CD Program Memory
You can play the tracks in the order you want
by making your own program. You can make
two programs: Program 1 and Program 2. You
can select up to 12 tracks for each program.
You can store the programs in memory.
1 Press (SHIFT), then press (D (PLAY
MODE) for two seconds.

"P 1" shows Program 1 is selected.
To select Program 2, press (5) (—*)
repeatedly until "P 2" appears.
2 Press either side of ( seek/ams ) to select
the track you want.
3 Press (ENTER) momentarily.

5 When you finish selecting tracks, press
(D (PLAY MODE) for two seconds.
6 Press (SHIFT).
Notes
• "*Wait*" appears in the display white the unit is reading
the data.
• "*Meni Full*'' appears in the display zuhen you try to
enter more than 12 tracks into a program.
Playing the stored program
You can select:
• PGM 1 to play Program 1.
• PGM 2 to play Program 2.
• PGM 1+2 to play Programs 1 and 2.

"PGM" appears.
3 Press ® (—►) repeatedly until the

— Best Tuning Memory (BTM)
The unit selects the stations with the strongest
signals and mentorizes them in the order of
their frequencies. You can store up to 10
stations on each band (FMl, FM2 and AM).
Caution
When tuning in stations while driving, use
Best Tuning Memory to prevent accidents.
1 Press f SOURCE) repeatedly to select the
tunec.
Each time you press ( source), the source
changes as follows:

Memorializing only the
desired stations
You can store up to 10 stations on each band
(20 for FMl and FM2,10 for AM) in the order
of your choice.
1 Press (SOURCE) repeatedly to select the
tuner.
2 Press (MODE) repeatedly to select the
band (FM1, FM2 or AM).
3 Press either side of ( seek/ams) to tune
in the station you want to store on the
number button.
4 Keep the desired number button (CD to
CToY) pressed for two seconds until
"MEM" appears.
The number button indication appears in the
display.
Note
If you try to store another station on the same number
button, the previously stored station will be erased.

will retain heir former setting.
* When a number is indicated in the display, the unit
starts storing stations from the one currently displayed.
