The wires in the mains lead on this product are
coloured in accordance with the following code:

BLUE : NEUTRAL
BROWN : LIVE

As these colours may not correspond with the
coloured markings identifying the terminals in
your plug proceed as follows:

The wire which is coloured BLUE must be
connected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter N or coloured BLACK.
The wire which is coloured BROWN must be
connected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter L or coloured RED.

When replacing the fuse only a correctly rated
approved type should be used and be sure to re-fit
the fuse cover.

1.1 Environmental conditions

The TASCAM CD-X1500 may be used in most
areas, but to maintain top performance, and
prolong operating life, observe the following
environmental conditions:
The nominal temperature should be between 5°C
and 35°C (41°F and 95°F).
Relative humidity should be 30 to 90 degrees non­condensing.
Make sure that the drive unit is mounted in a level
position for correct operation.
The units should be mounted, using the supplied
rack mounting kits. A typical configuration is
shown below, but other configurations are
possible:

… If the disc trays are more than 5 degrees

away from the horizontal, they will not
open or close.

… Do not install this apparatus in a con-

fined space such as a book case or simi­lar unit.

1.2 Beware of condensation

If the player (or a compact disc) is moved from a
cold to a warm place, or used after a sudden
temperature change, there is a danger of
condensation; vapor in the air could condense on
the internal mechanism, making correct operation
impossible. To prevent this, or if this occurs, leave
the player for one or two hours with the power
turned on, then turn the power off and on again.

NOTE

1.3 Handling of discs

The unit has been designed specifically for
reproduction of discs bearing the mark. No
other discs can be reproduced.

Observe the following:

• Always place the compact discs in the trays with
their label facing upward (compact discs can
only be played on one side).

• To remove a disc from its storage case, press
down on the center of the case, and lift the disc
out, holding it carefully by the edges.

• Finger marks and dust should be carefully wiped
off the disc's recorded surface with a soft cloth.
Unlike conventional records, the compact disc
has no grooves to collect dust and microscopic
debris, so gently wiping with a soft cloth should
remove most particles.

• Wipe in a straight motion from the inside to the
outside of the disc. Small dust particles and light
stains will have absolutely no effect on reproduc­tion quality.

• Never use such chemicals as record sprays, anti­static sprays or fluid, benzine or thinner to clean
compact discs. Such chemicals will do irrepara­ble damage to the disc's plastic surface.

• Discs should be returned to their cases after use
to avoid serious scratches that could cause the
laser pickup to "skip".

• Don't expose discs to direct sunlight or high
humidity and temperature for extended periods.
Long exposure to high temperature can warp the
disc.

• Only use circular compact discs. Avoid using
non-circular promotional, etc. discs.

• To keep the laser pickups clean, don't touch
them. For the same reason, don't leave the disc
trays open unnecessarily.

2-1. Main Unit (Front Panel)

1 POWER switch

Turns the power on and off. The tray LEDs light
when power is supplied.
When Timer start function is on, playback begins
when power is supplied.

2 Disc trays

Insert CD into these trays, label side upwards.

3 Tray LEDs

Lights when power is supplied.

4 OPEN keys

Open and close the appropriate tray.

… These keys cannot be used when direct

mode (Preset menu) is off and disc is
being played back.

5 OUTPUT jacks (RCA)

RCA connectors providing line level output
signals, one set each for discs 1 and 2.

6 DIGITAL OUTPUT (COAXIAL, S/PDIF)

Coaxial connectors provide digital output signals.
These connectors can output the 44.1KHz digital
signals constantly even if pitch control is activated.

7 FADER START jacks (MINI jack)

CD-X1500 can be controlled using the external
Fader start command through these jacks. Connect
the mixer which supports the fader start function
with appropriate cable as well as audio signal.
(TIP: Start, GND: back cue)

8 ACCESSORY (MINI DIN 6P)

Connect the optional scratch controller TT-M1.

9 REMOTE (MINI DIN 8P)

Use this connector to connect the remote control
unit.

… DO NOT use any cable with the CD-

X1500 except the cable supplied with
the unit.

… Connect the cable in the way shown on

the illustration on the rear panel of the
CD-X1500. If you connect the cable in
any other way, you may damage the CD­X1500.

2-3. Remote Controller (Top Panel)

0 OPEN key

Opens and closes the appropriate tray.

… These keys cannot be used when direct

mode (Preset menu) is off and a disc is
being played back.

q SEARCH key

Turns on or off the Search function on the Jog
wheel. When this key is lit, the Jog wheel acts as
a search dial. After 5 seconds without search
operation, the unit will exit the search mode
automatically.

w P.MODE / PGM key

Selects the play mode, either continuous play (all
play), single play (1 track play), or programmed
play.

Continuous play: No indication in the

LCD

Single play: SINGLE indicator in the

LCD will light

Programmed play: PROGRAM indicator in

the LCD will light

Pressing and holding the TIME/ENTER/SHIFT
key while pressing the P.MODE key, enters
program edit mode.

NOTE

e TIME/ENT / SHIFT key

Selects the time display mode, either elapsed,
remain, or total remain.

ELAPSED: Elapsed time will show in the

numerical portion in display, but no
additional indicator will light.

REMAIN: REMAIN indicator in the LCD will

light

TOTAL REMAIN: The track number display area

shows the number of tracks of
inserted disc, however, for 5 seconds
in the end of track, the current track
number flashes and for 5 seconds in
the beginning of the track, the
current track number lights.

Another function of this key is the modifier key
(SHIFT function). Holding SHIFT while pressing
another key performs the following functions;

SHIFT + P.MODE: Program edit
SHIFT + FLASH: Track memory recall
SHIFT + SET: Track memory
SHIFT + TEMPO: Memory bank select
SHIFT + BEND -: Auto cue on/off
SHIFT + BEND +: Auto ready on/off
SHIFT + TAP: Parameter display select
SHIFT + Jog Wheel: Preset
SHIFT + B: Loop end point edit
SHIFT + CUE: Select the CUE key’s

operation

Displays visual feedback for CD-X1500 functions.

t TAP / DISPLAY key

Set the tempo in BPM by tapping this key. When
you press this key, the parameter counter mode
momentarily changes to TAP BPM display mode.

the filter effect is activated, this key lights. The
frequency of the filter can be controlled by Jog
wheel. (∑ page 15)

o FLASH / RECALL / DEL key

Turns the flash start mode on and off. (∑ page 12)
Recalls the track memory data. (∑ page 16)
Deletes the current selected song from the program
list. (∑ page 19)

p SET / MEMO / INS key

Set the cue points with CUE 1-3. (∑ page 12)
Memorizes the track memory data (∑ page 16)
Adds the current selected song to the program list.

Depending on the setting, these keys locate to cue
points, flash start from cue points (default), or

Locates to the cue point, then pauses.

d PLAY/PAUSE key

Changes the playback mode between playback and
pause.
The light stays on solid in playback mode, and
flashes in pause mode.

Use these to perform track searches.

Sets or erases the loop points, or engages or

, FLASH indicator

When flash start is activated, this indicator lights.
Flash start is on by default, or the last setting of
flash start will be retained. If you set it to OFF
then turn the power off, when power is turned back
on, flash start will be OFF.

. Memory bank indicators

Lights the current selected memory bank indicator.

/ A.CUE indicator

Lights when AUTO CUE function is turned on.

! A.RDY indicator

Lights when AUTO READY function is activated.

@ RELAY indicator

Lights when relay play is set to on.

# LOOP indicator

Lights when loop play is engaged.

$ S indicator

Lights when loop mode is set to single loop.

% ALL indicator

Lights when loop mode is set to all loop.

^ Time Address Bar

Shows the current play position relative to the
current track.

& PAR indicator

When FILTER is activated, this indicator lights

3-1. CUE

The CD-X1500 can memorize the play start point
as a cue point. If cue point is memorized, pressing
the CUE key locates the unit to the cue point.

To memorize the CUE point

There are two ways to store the cue point.
Pressing and holding the SHIFT key then pressing
CUE selects the method for the CUE key’s
operation.

: Last play start point is stored as the CUE

point.

: Pressing the CUE key when unit is paused

stores the current point as the cue point.

Stutter play with the CUE key

When the unit is paused at the cue point, the unit
will play when this key is pressed, and enter pause
mode when CUE is released.
If the PLAY key is pressed during CUE playback,
the unit will go into normal play mode.

3-2. CUE 1-3

The CD-X1500 can have another three cue points
stored with the CUE 1-3 keys.

To memorize the CUE 1-3 points

1. Find the desired point.

2. Press the SETkey. The parameter display shows
.

3. Press the desired CUE key.

When the CUE key has the stored point, the CUE
key lights. The stored cue point cannot be erased
but can be overwritten.

… When the unit is paused and the

indicator in the LCD lights, pressing the
SET key then pressing the CUE 1-3 key
starts the unit automatically.

… When the unit is paused and the

indicator in the LCD doesn’t light, press­ing the SET key then pressing the CUE 1­3 key flashes the pressed CUE 1-3 key
three times then lights.

… For three seconds after storing the cue

point, you cannot store another cue
point.

Stutter play with the CUE 1-3 keys

When the unit is paused at the cue 1-3 point, the
unit will play when the appropriate CUE 1-3 key is
pressed, and enter pause mode when CUE 1-3 is
released.
If the PLAY key is pressed during CUE playback,
the unit will go into normal play mode.

3-3. Flash Start

The CD-X1500 has a flash start function that can
be used with the CUE 1-3 keys.
When the flash start function is activated (when the

indicator in the LCD lights), pressing the

CUE 1-3 key enables flash start.

… When the indicator in the LCD

doesn’t light, the unit is back in cue
mode. In this mode, pressing the CUE 1­3 key locates the stored cue point then
the unit pauses.

3-4. A-B Looping

To store the LOOP points

… Loop points can be stored when loop

points are not stored on the unit (A and
B key don’t light). If loop points are
already stored, erase these points first,
then store the loop points again.

… Both loop start (A) and end (B) points

can set to within a track.

… A-B looping can be performed when the

loop mode is set to “A-B” (preset 01).
When loop mode is set to “A-B”, the "S"
and “ALL” indicators in the LCD don’t
light.

1. Press the A key when playing or pausing. The A
key will light and the B key will start flashing.

2. Press the B key when playing or pausing. The
LOOP, A, and B keys will light. If the loop B
point is set when the unit is playing, the
CD-X1500 starts loop playback seamlessly. If
the loop B point is set when the unit is paused,
the CD-X1500 goes to the loop start point then
pauses. At this time the indicator in the
LCD lights.

Disengage loop play

When loop play is engaged, pressing the LOOP
key disengages loop play. In this case, the unit
continues playback and LOOP light goes off, but
the loop points are not erased.

NOTE

When loop play is engaged, locating to the out
point of a loop section disengages loop play (i.e.
pressing the CUE key, etc…). The LOOPkey goes
off, but the loop points are not erased.

Re-looping

When loop play is disengaged and loop points are
already stored, pressing the LOOP key starts re­loop playback and the LOOP key lights.

Erasing the LOOP points

Pressing the A and B key at the same time erases
the loop points. At this time, the A and B keys go
off.
If the tray is opened, your loop points are erased.

Changing the LOOP end point (B point)

Pressing the B key when the loop is playing
changes the loop end point.

Pressing and holding the SHIFT key then pressing
the B key edits the B point using Jog wheel.
Pressing the B key overwrites the new B point and
exits the edit mode.

… The Loop B point can be moved before

the current B point only.

3-5. Adjusting the tempo

Tempo range

The CD-X1500 features +/-8, 16, 32, 100, and 0%
of tempo control range. Pressing the TEMPO key
changes the tempo control range. The parameter­display shows the selected tempo/key range
momentary. If 0% is selected, the parameter
display shows .

Using the TEMPO slider

The TEMPO slider controls the playback tempo.
Tempo changes are displayed in the LCD.

Using the TAP key

Pressing the TAP key repeatedly counts the song
tempo in BPM manually. Tapped BPM is shown in
the LCD parameter display and the TAP LED
blinks in tempo. This BPM affects the TEMPO
slider moving. If the TEMPO slider is moved, the
BPM will be changed automatically.

Pressing and holding the TAP key for more than

1.5 seconds erases the tapped BPM value.
Pressing and holding the TAP key then moving the
Jog wheel (within 1.5 seconds) adjusts the BPM
manually.

3-6. Pitch Bending

When playing back a disc, pressing the BEND + or
– key, or using the Jog wheel can change playback
tempo momentary. Pressing the + key or moving
the Jog wheel clockwise increases the playback
speed and returns to original speed when release
this key or stop the Jog wheel moving. Pressing
the - key or moving the Jog wheel
counterclockwise decreases the playback speed
and returns to original speed when release this key
or stop the Jog wheel moving.

… When SEARCH key, SCRATCH key, or FIL-

TER key is not lit, the Jog wheel works
for pitch bend function.
The maximum pitch bend range is 16%.

… When Key Original function is activated,

playback key is fixed.

3-7. Key Original

When tempo range is set to +/-8 or 16%, pressing
the KEY ORIG key turns the key original function
on and off. When key original function is turned
on, tempo control does not affect the playback key.
When the key original function is turned on,

indicator in the LCD lights.
If tempo range is set to +/-32% or 100%, the key
original function does not work.
When the key original function is turned on,
parameter display shows in the KEY mode.

4-1. Key control

The CD-X1500 features up to +/-16% key control.
Key control range is determined with tempo range
setting.
When tempo and key control range is set to 8%,
key value can be set in 0.1% steps. When tempo
and key control range is set to 16%, key value can
be set in 0.2% steps. When tempo control range is
set to 0%, 32%, or 100%, key control function
does not work.
Pressing and holding the KEYkey then moving the
Jog wheel sets the key control value.
Note that the key value shows a total of the value
together with any changes made by using the
slider.

… When the key original function is acti-

vated, the key control function does not
work.

4-2. Scratching

When SCRATCH key is activated, scratching can
be performed with the Jog wheel.

… For 3 seconds after the flash start or

cuing with CUE 1-3 key, or cuing with
CUE key, backward direction of
scratching cannot be performed. During
SCRATCH key light is off, scratching
cannot be performed. Once it lights
again, scratching can be performed.

… When SEARCH function is on, the Jog

wheel works as the search dial. When
filter effect is turned on, scratch function
is automatically turned off.

4-3. Brake

Brake function simulates the braking audio just
like turning off the analog turntable. Pressing the
BRAKE key turns the brake function on and off.
When brake function is activated, the BRAKE key
lights.

Set the brake time

Pressing and holding the BRAKE key then using
the Jog wheel adjusts the brake time. Brake time
can be set to 1 to 5 seconds in 0.1 sec. steps.
Pressing the PLAY/PAUSE key while unit is
playing performs the braking.
Pressing the PLAY/PAUSE key during the braking
starts the music again with current tempo.

4-4. FILTER

The CD-X1500 includes a filter effect. Pressing
the FILTER key turns the effect on and off. When
filter effect is turned on, the FILTER key lights. In
this case, using the Jog wheel moves the cut off
frequency for the filter.

… When search function is turned on, Jog

wheel works as the search dial. When
scratch function is turned on, FILTER
effect is automatically turned off.

4-5. Track Memory / Recall

The CD-X1500 can memorize the various
playback settings of current selected track up to
100 tracks of memory in each 5 banks (A to E).
You could use each bank for a different player or
use the other bank for a different setting for a track,
for example.

Track Memory

1. Select the memory bank (Ato E) by pressing and
holding the SHIFT key then pressing the
TEMPO/BANK key.

2. Enter the track memory mode by pressing and
holding the SHIFT key then pressing the
SET/MEMO key.

3. LCD shows the lowest empty memory number.

4. Using the Jog wheel to change the memory
number if necessary.

5. Press the ENTkey. At this time, if there is stored
memory in the selected memory number,

indication is displayed in the LCD.
Pressing the ENT key overwrites the data.
Pressing any other key cancels the memory
operation.

Recall

1. Select the memory bank by pressing and holding
the SHIFT key then pressing the
TEMPO/BANK key. If there is a track memory
data of selected track in the current selected
memory bank (A to E), the "M" indicator in the
LCD lights.

2. Enter the recall mode by pressing and holding
the SHIFT key then pressing the
FLASH/RECALL key. If there is a track
memory data for the selected track, its memory
number is shown in the LCD.

3. When track memory number is shown in the
LCD, pressing the ENT key recalls the track
memory data.

The CD-X1500 can recall the track (song) from the
track memory data.

1. Select the memory bank by pressing and holding
the SHIFT key then pressing the
TEMPO/BANK key.

2. Enter the recall mode by pressing and holding
the SHIFT key then pressing the
FLASH/RECALL key. Using the Jog wheel to
select the desired track memory number.

3. When track memory number is shown in the
LCD, pressing the ENT key recalls the track
from the track memory number.

… Cue and loop points can be memorized

and/or recalled. However, just after the
recall operation, seamless start from the
cue or loop points cannot be performed
because there are no data in the RAM
buffer just after the recall operation.
Once playing from cue points (CUE 1-3)
and/or loop start point for a few second,
flash start and/or seamless looping can
be performed.

4-6. Fader Start

Connect the FADER START jack on the rear panel
of the main unit and fader start jack on the external
device which supports the fader start function (i.e.
X-9, X-17, X-15, XS-3, etc…) with the fader start
cable which is supplied to perform fader start/back
cue performance with external device.
Audio signal should be connected to the external
device as well.

TIP: Start (low active, more than 50ms)
GND: Back cue (low active, more than 50ms)

4-7. Relay Play

Turning on the Relay play function either left or
right unit turns on the relay play function. When
relay play is activated, when left unit finishes
playback, right unit will start playback and vice
versa automatically.
Pressing and holding the SHIFT key then pressing
the BRAKE key turns the relay play function on
and off. When relay play is turned on, the
“RELAY” indicator in the LCD lights.

NOTE

4-8. Auto Cue

Auto cue function allows the unit to search the
beginning of the song and pause there
automatically. The detection level is fixed to
–54dB. When Auto cue function is turned on,
“A.CUE” indicator in the LCD lights.
Pressing and holding the SHIFT key then pressing
the BEND – key turns the AUTO CUE function on
and off.

4-9. Auto Ready

Auto Ready function allows the unit to pause the
beginning of the next track when playback of the
current track is finished.
The behavior of Auto Ready function is follows.

Continuous play mode:

Pause the beginning of the next track when
playback of the current track is finished.

Single play mode:

Pause the beginning of the current track when
playback of the current track is finished.

Program play mode:

Pause the beginning of the next programmed
track when playback of the current track is
finished.

When Auto Ready function is turned on, “A.RDY”
indicator in the LCD lights.
Pressing and holding the SHIFT key then pressing
the BEND + key turns the AUTO READY
function on and off.

4-10. Programmed Play

The CD-X1500 features up to 30 tracks of program
play function. Program itself is maintained even if
power is turned off, and if CD is not ejected,
program list will be backed up.

… If the disc is ejected, program will be

erased.

… Once one of the CUE 1-3 key is pressed,

programmed play will be cancelled.

Create the program

1. Enter the program edit mode by pressing and
holding the SHIFT key then pressing the
P.MODE/PGM key.

2. Program number is shown in the parameter
display. Select desired track with the track skip
keys.

3. Go to next program number by pressing the ENT
key or using the Jog wheel.

4. Repeat 2-3.

5. Exit the program edit mode by pressing and
holding the SHIFT key then pressing the
P.MODE/PGM key.

Pressing and holding the SHIFTkey then using the
Jog wheel selects the preset menu.

Select the preset menu then press the ENT key, the
LCD shows the preset menu and its parameter.

Set the parameter with the Jog wheel.

Pressing the ENT key confirm the new parameter.

Pressing any other key exits the preset operation.

1.1 Condiciones ambientales

El TASCAM CD-X1500 puede ser usado en casi
todos los sitios, pero para mantener el rendimiento
máximo y alargar su vida operativa, observe las
siguientes condiciones ambientales:
La temperatura nominal debería estar entre los 5° y
35° C (41° y 95° F).
La humedad relativa deberia ser de 30 a 90 grados
sin condensación de agua.
Asegúrese de que la unidad esté colocada en un
lugar plano para un funcionamiento correcto.
Debería montar las unidades usando los elementos
de montaje en rack que se incluyen. Aqui abajo
puede ver un montaje típico, pero son posibles
otras configuraciones:

… Si las bandejas de los discos tienen una

inclinación superior a los 5 grados, no se
abriran ni cerrarán.

… No utilice la unidad en espacios

reducidos como en una estantería o
lugar similar.

1.2 Cuidado con la condensación

Si traslada el reproductor (o un disco) de un lugar
frío a un cálido, o lo usa tras un cambio fuerte de
temperatura, existe el peligro de la condensación;
el vapor del aire podría condensarse en el
mecanismo interno, impidiendo un funciona­miento correcto. Para evitarlo, o si ocurre, deje el
reproductor encendido una o dos horas, y despues
apáguelo y vuevalo a encender.

NOTA

1.3 Manejo de los discos

La unidad ha sido diseñada especificamente para la
reproducción de discos que lleven la marca .
No es posible reproducir otros discos.

Tenga en cuenta lo siguiente:

• Coloque siempre los discos en las bandejas con
su etiqueta hacia arriba (los discos compactos
sólo se pueden reproducir por una cara).

• Para sacar un disco de su caja, presione en el
centro de la caja y tire del disco, sujetándolo con
cuidado por los bordes.

• Con un paño suave elimine con cuidado
cualquier marca de dedos y el polvo de la
superficie grabada del disco. Al contrario que lo
que ocurre en los discos convencionales, los CD
no tienen surcos que recojan polvo y restos
microscópicos, por lo que la limpieza con un
pano suave deberia eliminar la mayoria de
partículas.

• Limpie el disco con movimientos rectos de
dentro hacia fuera. Las partículas de polvo y
manchas no tendrán ningún efecto en la calidad
de reproduccion.

• Nunca use productos químicos como sprays
antiestáticos u otros líquidos como aguarrás para
limpiar los discos. Esos productos producirán
daños irreparables en la superficie del disco.

• Debería guardar los discos en sus cajas después
de usarlos para evitar rayas que podrían hacer
que el cabezal láser "saltase".

• No exponga los discos a la luz solar directa o a
altos niveles de humedad o temperatura durante
periodos largos. La exposición continuada a altas
temperaturas puede hacer que el disco se combe.

• Use sólo discos circulares. Evite el uso de discos
promocionales, etc. que no sean circulares.

• Para mantener limpios los cabezales del laser, no
los toque. Por esa misma razon, no deje las
bandejas abiertas cuando no sea necesario.

2-1. Unidad principal (panel frontal)

1 Interruptor POWER

Enciende y apaga la unidad. Los LEDs de las
bandejas se iluminan cuando la unidad está
encendida. Cuando la función de inicio por
temporizador esté activada, la reproducción
empezará en cuanto encienda la unidad.

2 Bandejas de discos

Introduzca los CD en estas bandejas con la
etiqueta hacia arriba.

3 LEDs de bandejas

Se iluminan cuando la unidad está encendida.

4 Teclas OPEN

Le permiten abrir y cerrar la bandeja
correspondiente.

… No puede usar estas teclas cuando el

modo direct (menú preset) está en off y
el disco está siendo reproducido.

2-2. Unidad principal (panel trasero)

5 Conectores OUTPUT (RCA)

Conectores RCAque le ofrecen una señal de salida
con nivel de línea.

6 DIGITAL OUTPUT (COAXIAL, S/PDIF)

Conectores coaxiales que le ofrecen señales de sa­lida digitales.
Estos conectores pueden dar salida a las señales
digitales a 44.1KHz de forma continua incluso
aunque haya activado el control de tono.

7 Conectores FADER START (clavija MINI)

Puede controlar el CD-X1500 usando la orden de
inicio por fader exterior a través de estas entradas.
Conecte la mesa de mezclas que acepte la función
de inicio por fader con el cable adecuado, así como
la señal audio.
(PUNTA: Inicio, MALLA: búsqueda inversa)

8 ACCESSORY (DIN MINI 6P)

Conecte aquí el controlador de scratch opcional
TT-M1.

9 REMOTE (DIN MINI 8P)

Use esta entrada para conectar el mando a
distancia.

… NO use ningún cable con el CD-X1500

que no sea el que viene con el propio
CD-X1500.

… Conecte el cable al CD-X1500 de la

forma que aparece en la ilustración del
panel trasero del propio CD-X1500. Si
trata de conectar el cable de cualquier
otra forma, el CD-X1500 puede dañarse.

2-3. Mando a distancia (Panel superior)

0 Tecla OPEN

Abre y cierra la bandeja de discos
correspondiente.

… No podrá usar estas teclas cuando el

modo directo (menú Preset) esté en off
y un disco esté siendo reproducido.

q Tecla SEARCH

Activa o desactiva la función de búsqueda para la
rueda Jog. Cuando la tecla esté iluminada, la rueda
Jog será el dial de búsqueda. Una vez que hayan
transcurrido cinco segundos sin que se realice
ninguna operación de búsqueda, la unidad saldrá
automáticamente de este modo de búsqueda.

w Tecla P.MODE / PGM

Elige el modo de reproducción, tanto si es
reproducción continua (all play), reproducción de
una sola pista (1 track play) o reproducción
programada.

Repr. continua: No hay ninguna

indicación en la LCD

Repr. 1 pista: En la LCD se iluminará

el indicador SINGLE

Repr. programada: En la LCD se iluminará

Si mantiene pulsada la tecla TIME/ENTER/
SHIFT mientras pulsa P.MODE accederá al modo
de edición de programa.

Elige el modo de visualización del tiempo entre las
opciones elapsed, remain o total remain.

NOTA

ELAPSED: En la parte numérica de la pantalla

podrá ver el tiempo transcurrido,
pero no se iluminará ningún
indicador adicional.

REMAIN: En la LCD se iluminará el indicador

REMAIN

TOTAL REMAIN: La zona de pantalla del

número de pista le mostrará el
número de pistas que tiene el disco
introducido, parpadeando dicho
número de pista activa a 5 segundos
de su final y durante los 5 primeros
segundos de su ejecución, quedando
iluminado fijo el resto del tiempo.

Otra función de esta tecla es como tecla
modificadora (función SHIFT). Su función varía
en combinación con otras teclas.

Cuando está activada la función de inicio flash,

Esta función de inicio flash vendrá ajustada de
fábrica por defecto, sin embargo, la unidad
memorizará el último ajuste de este inicio. Si
ajusta esta función a OFF y apaga la unidad,
cuando la vuelva a encender esta función seguirá
en OFF.

Se iluminan para indicar cual es el banco de
memoria activo.

3-1. CUE

El CD-X1500 puede memorizar el punto de inicio
de la reproducción como un punto de escucha o
cue. Si este punto cue está memorizado, la unidad
se colocará en dicho punto cuando pulse la tecla
CUE.

Para memorizar el punto CUE

Hay dos formas para almacenar este punto de
escucha. Mantener pulsada la tecla SHIFTy pulsar
la tecla CUE le permite elegir el funcionamiento de
la tecla CUE.

: Como punto CUE es almacenado el último

punto de inicio.

: Si pulsa la tecla CUE con la unidad en

pausa, el punto activo se almacena como
punto cue.

Reproducción “tartamuda” con la tecla
CUE

Cuando la unidad esté en pausa en el punto de
escucha, cuando pulse esta tecla la unidad
comenzará la reproducción y volverá a quedar en
pausa en cuanto suelte la tecla.
Si pulsa la tecla PLAY durante este tipo de
reproducción, la unidad volverá al modo de
reproducción normal, normal.

3-2. CUE 1-3

El CD-X1500 puede almacenar otros tres puntos
de escucha en las teclas CUE 1-3.

Para memorizar los puntos CUE 1-3

1. Colóquese en el punto que quiera almacenar.

2. Pulse la tecla SET. En la pantalla de parámetro
verá .

3. Pulse la tecla CUE que quiera.

Cuando una tecla CUE contiene un punto ya
almacenado, dicha tecla se ilumina. El punto de

escucha almacenado no puede ser borrado, pero sí
puede grabar otros datos encima de los anteriores.

… Cuando la unidad esté en pausa y en la

LCD se ilumine el indicador al
pulsar la tecla SET y después la tecla CUE
1-3 hará que la unidad comience la
reproducción de forma automática.

… Cuando la unidad esté en pausa y en la

LCD no esté iluminado el indicador

al pulsar la tecla SET y después la
tecla CUE 1-3, esa tecla parpadeará tres
veces y después quedará iluminada fija.

… Durante un periodo de 3 segundos

después de que un punto cue haya
memorizado, no podrá memorizar otro
punto cue.

Reproducción tartamuda con las teclas
CUE 1-3

Cuando la unidad esté en pausa en el punto de
escucha 1-3, cuando pulse la tecla CUE 1-3
adecuada la unidad comenzará la reproducción y
volverá a quedar en pausa en cuanto suelte dicha
tecla.
Si pulsa la tecla PLAY durante este tipo de
reproducción, la unidad volverá al modo de
reproducción normal, normal.

3-3. Inicio flash

El CD-X1500 dispone de la función de inicio
inmediato o flash con las teclas CUE 1-3.
Cuando esta función de inicio flash esté activada
(cuando en la LCD esté iluminado el indicador

), podrá realizar este inicio flash con las

teclas CUE 1-3.

… Cuando en la LCD no esté iluminado el

indicador , eso querrá decir que la
unidad está en el modo de escucha
inversa. En este modo, el pulsar la tecla
CUE 1-3 hace que la unidad se coloque
en el punto de escucha almacenado y
que después quede en pausa.

3-4. Bucle A-B

Para almacenar los puntos de bucle o
LOOP

… Puede almacenar puntos de bucle cuan-

do en la unidad no haya ninguno
guardado (cuando la tecla A y B no esté
iluminadas). Si ya hay puntos de bucle
almacenados, borre primero esos puntos
y después almacene los nuevos.

… Puede ajustar dentro de una pista tanto

el punto de inicio (A) como el de final (B)
del bucle.

… La reproducción en bucle A-B puede ser

ejecutado cuando el modo de bucle está
ajustado a “A-B” (preset 01). Cuando el
modo de bucle esté ajustado a “A-B”, los
indicadores “S” y “ALL” no se ilumi­narán en la LCD.

1. Pulse la tecla Acon la unidad en reproducción o
pausa. La tecla A se iluminará y la tecla B
comenzará a parpadear.

2. Pulse la tecla B con la unidad en reproducción o
pausa. Las teclas LOOP, Ay B se iluminarán. Si
ajusta el punto B del bucle con la unidad en
marcha, la reproducción del bucle comenzará de
forma invisible. Si ajusta el punto B del bucle
con la unidad en pausa, el aparato irá hasta el
punto de inicio del bucle y quedará en pausa allí.
En ese momento se iluminará el indicador
en la LCD

Desactivación del bucle

Cuando tenga el modo de bucle activado, la
pulsación de la tecla LOOP hará que este tipo de
reproducción se desactive. En este caso, la unidad
continuará con la reproducción normal y la tecla
LOOP se apagará, aunque los puntos de bucle no
serán borrados.

NOTA

Con la reproducción en bucle activada, cuando se
coloque en la salida de la sección de bucle, el modo
de reproducción en bucle se desactivará (al pulsar
la tecla CUE, etc…). La tecla LOOP se apagará,
aunque los puntos de bucle no serán borrados.

Re-bucle

Cuando el modo de bucle está desactivado pero los
puntos del bucle no han sido borrado, puede pulsar
la tecla LOOP para volver a reactivar la
reproducción en bucle y hacer que la tecla LOOP
se encienda.

Borrado de los puntos LOOP

Si pulsa a la vez las teclas A y B los puntos de
bucle se borran. Cuando haga eso, las teclas A y B
se apagarán.
De la misma forma, si abre una de las bandejas, los
puntos de bucle también se borrarán.

Cambio del punto de final de bucle
(punto B)

Si pulsa la tecla B cuando el bucle está siendo
reproducido el punto de final del bucle es
modificado.

Mantenga pulsada la tecla SHIFT y pulse la tecla B
para editar el punto final con la rueda Jog.
El pulsar la tecla B anula el nuevo punto B y hace
que salga del modo de edición.

… Solo puede desplazar el punto B a una

posición anterior a la que había ajustado
antes.

3-5. Ajuste del tempo

Rango del tempo

El CD-X1500 le ofrece un rango de control de
tempo de +/-8, 16, 32, 100 y 0%. El pulsar la tecla
TEMPO le permite cambiar el rango de control. La
pantalla de parámetro le muestra momentánea­mente el rango de tempo/clave elegido. Si elige
0%, la pantalla de parámetro le muestra - - -.

Uso del mando deslizante TEMPO

Este mando le permite controlar el tempo de la
reproducción.
Los cambios de tempo son visualizados en la LCD.

Uso de la tecla TAP

Pulse repetidas veces la tecla TAP para marcar
manualmente en BPM el tempo de la canción. El
valor de BPM marcado es mostrado en la pantalla
de parámetro de la LCD y el piloto TAP parpadea
de forma sincronizada con el BPM. Este BPM
afecta al desplazamiento del mando deslizante
TEMPO. Si mueve este mando TEMPO, el valor
de será modificado de forma automática.

Si mantiene pulsada la tecla TAP durante más de

1.5 segundos, borrará el valor BPM marcado.
Si mantiene pulsada la tecla TAP y gira la rueda
Jog (dentro de los 1.5 segundos) podrá ajustar
manualmente el BPM.

3-6. Inflexión tonal

Durante la reproducción de un disco, la pulsación
de la tecla BEND + ó – o el uso de la rueda Jog le
permiten cambiar de forma momentánea el tempo
de reproducción. El pulsar la tecla + o mover la
rueda hacia la derecha hará que la velocidad de
reproducción aumente y que vuelva a la original en
cuanto deje de pulsar la tecla o deje de girar el dial.
El pulsar la tecla – o girar la rueda Jog a la
izquierda producirá el efecto contrario.

… Cuando no estén iluminadas las teclas

SEARCH, SCRATCH o FILTER, podrá usar
la rueda Jog para esta función de
inflexión tonal.
El rango máximo de inflexión tonal es el
16%.

… Cuando esté activada la función de clave

original, el tono o clave de la reproduc­ción no cambiará.

3-7. Clave original

Cuando el rango de tempo esté ajustado a +/-8 o
16%, la pulsación de la tecla KEY ORIG le
permitirá activar o desactivar la función de clave
original. Cuando esta función esté activada, el
control de tempo no afectará a la clave o tono de la
reproducción. Así mismo, cuando esta función esté
activada, el indicado se iluminará en la
LCD.
Si el rango de tempo está ajustado a +/-32% o
100%, esta función de clave original no estará
operativa.
Cuando esta función esté activada, en la pantalla
de parámetro verá - - - para el modo KEY.

4-1. Control de clave

El CD-X1500 le ofrece un control de clave o tono
de hasta un +/-16%. Este rango queda determinado
por el ajuste del rango del tempo.
Cuando ajuste el rango del tempo y del control de
clave al 8%, podrá ajustar el valor de clave en
pasos de 0.1%. Cuando el rango esté ajustado al
16%, el valor de la clave podrá ser retocado en
pasos de 0.2%. Cuando el rango del control de
clave y de tempo estén ajustados al 0%, 32% o
100%, no podrá modificar el valor de la clave.
Para ajustar el valor de control de clave, mantenga
pulsada la tecla KEY y gire la rueda Jog.
Note que los cambios introducidos usando el
mando deslizante influen en el control de clave.

… Cuando la función de clave original esté

activada, la función de control de clave
no actuará.

4-2. Scratching

Cuando la tecla SCRATCH esté activa, podrá
realizar un efecto scratching con la rueda Jog.

… Durante un periodo de 3 segundos

después del inicio flash o la búsqueda
con la tecla CUE 1-3, o con la tecla CUE,
no podrá realizar un scratch hacia atrás.
Mientras la tecla SCRATCH esté apagada,
no puede usar la función de scratching.
Quando la tecla volverà a iluminarse,
podrá usar la función.

… Cuando la función de búsqueda SEARCH

esté activada, la rueda Jog actuará como
un dial de búsqueda. Cuando el efecto
de filtro esté activado, la función de
scratch será desactivada de forma
automática.

4-3. Frenado

La función Brake simula el frenado del audio como
el que se produce cuando apaga un giradiscos
sobre la marcha. El pulsar la tecla BRAKE activa
o desactiva esta función. Cuando la función de
frenado está activada, la tecla BRAKE se ilumina.

Ajuste del tiempo de frenado

Mantenga pulsada la tecla BRAKE y utilice la
rueda Jog para ajustar el tiempo de frenado. Puede
ajustar entre tiempo entre 1 y 5 segundos en pasos
de 0.1 segundos.
Pulse la tecla PLAY/PAUSE mientras la unidad
está en reproducción para realizar el frenado.
Si pulsa de nuevo la tecla PLAY/PAUSE mientras
la unidad está frenada, la música volverá a
empezar con el tempo activo.

4-4. FILTRO

El CD-X1500 incluye un efecto de filtro. Pulse la
tecla FILTER para activar o desactivar este efecto.
Cuando el efecto de filtro esté activado, la tecla
FILTER se iluminará. Cuando el filtro esté
activado podrá usar la rueda Jog para modificar la
frecuencia de corte del filtro.

… Cuando la función de búsqueda esté

activada, la rueda Jog actuará como un
dial de búsqueda. Cuando la función
scratch esté activada, el FILTRO será
desactivado automáticamente.

4-5. Memoria de pista / carga

El CD-X1500 puede memorizar los distintos
ajustes de reproducción de la pista elegida en ese
momento en hasta 100 memorias de pista
distribuidas en 5 bancos (A a E).
Podrá por ejemplo asignar cada banco a un
reproductor o usar los bancos para memorizar los
ajustes referente a los distintos pistas.

Memoria de pista

1. Elija el banco de memoria (A a E) manteniendo
pulsada la tecla SHIFT y pulsando la tecla
TEMPO/BANK

2.Active el modo de memoria de pista
manteniendo pulsada la tecla SHIFT y pulsando
después la tecla SET/MEMO.

3. En la LCD aparecerá el primer número de
memoria que esté vacío en ese momento.

4. Use la rueda Jog para cambiar el número de
memoria sobre el que trabajar si es necesario.

5. Pulse la tecla ENT. En ese momento, si hay algo
almacenado en el número de memoria elegida,
en la LCD aparecerá la indicación
Pulse entonces la tecla ENT para sobregrabar los
datos. Pulse cualquier otra tecla para cancelar la
operación de grabación.

Carga

1. Elija el banco de memoria manteniendo pulsada

una memoria de pista de la pista activa,
aparecerá un indicador “M” en la LCD.

2. Active el modo de carga manteniendo pulsada la
tecla SHIFT y pulsando la tecla
FLASH/RECALL. Si hay datos de memoria de
pista para la pista activa en ese momento, ese
número de memoria aparecerá en la LCD.

3. Cuando en la LCD aparezca el número de
memoria de pista, pulse la tecla ENT para cargar
esos datos.

El CD-X1500 puede cargar la pista real (canción)
desde los datos de la memoria de pista.

1. Elija el banco de memoria manteniendo pulsada
la tecla SHIFT y pulsando la tecla
TEMPO/BANK.

2. Active el modo de carga manteniendo pulsada la
tecla SHIFT y pulsando la tecla
FLASH/RECALL. Utilice después la rueda Jog
para elegir el número de memoria de pista que
quiera.

3. Cuando en la LCD aparezca el número de la
memoria de pista que quiera, pulse la tecla ENT
para cargar la pista desde ese número de
memoria de pista.

… Los puntos de bucle y de escucha (Cue)

también pueden ser memorizados y/o
cargados. No obstante, después de la
operación de carga no es posible realizar
un arranque “invisible” desde los puntos
de escucha o bucle dado que tras la
carga no hay datos en el buffer RAM.
Una vez que hayan transcurrido unos
segundos tras el inicio de la reproduc­ción desde los puntos (CUE 1-3) y/o de
bucle, el inicio flash y/o el bucle invisible
ya podrán ser realizados sin problemas.

4-6. Inicio por fader

Para realizar un inicio por fader desde una unidad
exterior, interconecte la clavija FADER START
que hay en el panel trasero de la unidad principal a
la clavija de inicio o disparo por fader de cualquier
unidad exterior que admita este tipo de función
(p.e. X-9, X-17, X-15, XS-3, etc…) por medio del
cable de inicio por fader que viene incluido.
Debería conectar la señal audio tambien a la
unidad exterior.

PUNTA: Inicia (activa al nivel bajo, más de

50ms)

MALLA: búsqueda inversa (activa al nivel bajo,

más de 50ms)

4-7. Reproducción consecutiva

El activar la función de reproducción consecutiva
tanto en la unidad de la izquierda como en la
derecha hace que toda la unidad active esta
función. Si la reproducción consecutiva esté
activada, cuando la unidad de la izquierda termine
su reproducción, la derecha arrancará de forma
automática y viceversa.
Para activar o desactivar la función de
reproducción consecutiva, mantenga pulsada la
tecla SHIFT y pulse la tecla BRAKE. Cuando la

función de reproducción consecutiva esté activada,
en la pantalla se encenderá el indicador “RELAY”.

4-8. Búsqueda automática

Esta función permite que la función localice
automáticamente el principio de la canción y se
quede allí en pausa de forma automática. El nivel
de detección está fijado en –54dB. Cuando esta
función esté activada, en la LCD se iluminará el
indicador “A.CUE”.
Mantenga pulsada la tecla SHIFT y pulse la tecla
BEND – para activar o desactivar la función
AUTO CUE.

4-9. Espera automática

Esta función hace que la unidad quede en pausa al
principio de la pista siguiente cuando la
reproducción de la pista activa haya terminado.
Este modo actúa de la siguiente forma.

Modo de reproducción continua:

La unidad queda en pausa al principio de la pista
siguiente cuando la reproducción de la pista
activa ha terminado.

Modo de reproducción de una pista:

La unidad queda en pausa al principio de la pista
activa cuando su reproducción ha terminado.

Modo de reproducción programada:

La unidad queda en pausa al principio de la
siguiente pista programada cuando ha terminado
la reproducción de la pista activa.

Cuando esta función está activada, en la LCD se
ilumina el indicador “A.RDY”.
Mantenga pulsada la tecla SHIFT y pulse la tecla
BEND + para activar o desactivar la función
AUTO READY.

4-10. Reproducción programada

El CD-X1500 dispone de hasta 30 pistas para la
función de reproducción programada. El programa
que cree queda memorizado incluso aunque
apague la unidad, y siempre y cuando no expulse el
CD, podrá recuperar la misma lista de programas.

… Si el disco es expulsado, el programa será

borrado.

… Si pulsa una de las teclas CUE 1-3, la

reproducción programada será cancela­da.

Creación del programa

1.Active el modo de edición de programa
manteniendo pulsada la tecla SHIFT y pulsando
a la vez la tecla P.MODE/PGM.

2. En la pantalla de parámetro aparecerá el número
del programa. Elija la pista que quiera con las
teclas de salto de pistas.

3. Vaya al siguiente número de programa pulsando
la tecla ENT o usando la rueda Jog.

4. Repita los pasos 2-3 tantas veces como sea
necesario.

5.Salga del modo de edición de programa
manteniendo pulsada la tecla SHIFT y pulsando
la tecla P.MODE/PGM.

Inserción de programa

1.Active el modo de edición de programa
manteniendo pulsada la tecla SHIFT y pulsando
a la vez la tecla P.MODE/PGM.

5. Repita los pasos 2-4 tantas veces como le sea
necesario.

6.Salga del modo de edición de programa
manteniendo pulsada la tecla SHIFT y pulsando
la tecla P.MODE/PGM.

Borrado de programa

1.Active el modo de edición de programa
manteniendo pulsada la tecla SHIFT y pulsando
a la vez la tecla P.MODE/PGM.

2. En la pantalla de parámetro aparecerá el número
del programa. Elija el número de programa que
quiera eliminar con la rueda Jog.

3. Pulse la tecla FLASH/DEL.

4. Repita los pasos 2-3 para eliminar los programas
que quiera.

5.Salga del modo de edición de programa

Mantenga pulsada la tecla SHIFT y use la rueda
Jog para activar el menú preset.

Elija este menú preset y pulse la tecla ENT, tras lo
que en la LCD verá el menú de preset y su
parámetro

Ajuste el parámetro con la rueda Jog.

Pulse la tecla ENT para confirmar el nuevo valor
del parámetro.

Pulse cualquier otra tecla para salir de este menú.

Err 01 Error de lectura TOC – El índice (TOC) del disco no ha podido ser leído en 20 segundos – pruebe

con otro disco o expúlselo y límpielo antes de volver a colocarlo

Err 02 Error GFS – La señal GFS no ha podido ser detectada en 5 segundos – pruebe con otro disco o

expulse ese y límpielo antes de volver a colocarlo

Err 03 Error de foco – después de que la unidad haya tratado de enfocar el disco ocho veces, se sigue

produciendo un error - pruebe con otro disco o expulse ese y límpielo antes de volver a colocarlo

Err 04 Error sub-Q – el código sub-Q no ha podido ser detectado (dos veces en 5 segundos) – pruebe con

otro disco

Err 05 Error de carga – la operación de apertura o cierre de la bandeja no puede ser realizada tras varios

intentos o se ha producido un error interno – asegúrese de que no hay nada que impida el
movimiento de la bandeja

Err 06 Error de guías – error de la unidad interna – apague la unidad, espere unos segundos y vuélvala a

encender

Err 07 Error de comunicación entre las unidades de disco - apague la unidad, espere unos segundos y

vuélvala a encender

Err 10 Error S-DRAM – se ha producido un error en la S-DRAM interna - apague la unidad, espere unos

segundos y vuélvala a encender
