(1) As shown in the figure, install the guide pin (each on the
right and left) in the frame of the direction in which the VTR is pulled out. Pay attention to the relation of the installation position between the guide pins and outer rail assembly fixing screws. (Adjust the pin to the 1U-marked frame on the right.)
[Reference]
For the installation position, refer to the figure on the preceding page.
(2) As shown in the figure, install the guide plate in the frame,
opposite to the direction in which the VTR is pulled out, with two screws (each on right and left). Adjust so that the screw hole at the top of the guide plate is the same in height as the guide pin installed in step (1). (Adjust the plate to the 1U-marked frame.)
Note: For both front and rear drawer types, guide plate
(R) must be installed on the right toward the front of a cart machine. Be sure to remove the two installed guide plates after the front drawer-type VTR is mounted. (Refer to step (1) of procedure 4.)

After this, move the Z stage toward VTR, and then make sure that the clearance A is sure of 1.0 ±0.5 mm as shown in the figure. In case of an old type of VTR shutter plate as well, move the elevator assembly up and down with your hand and check if the distance is sure of 2 mm between the top of elevator sensor and upper edge of shutter plate, adjusting Y direction of Z stage of elevator assembly. After this, move the Z stage toward VTR, and then make sure that the clearance A is sure of 1.0 ±0.5 mm as shown in the figure.

4-13-7. Cable Disposition

HARNESS FIX PIPE
HARNESS CLAMPER
. Dispose the cables with sufficient length to draw the VTR for
the maintenance.
. When one VTR is installed, the cable disposition is shown in
the figure. When two or more VTRs are installed, dispose the cables using another cable strap in the same way.
. When the factory shipment, harness fix pipe is installed at the
center of cart machine's rear side. Therefore move the harness fix pipe out of the way for VTR drawing depends on number and type of the VTR.

4-14. CASSETTE LOADING AND REMOVAL

Cassettes can be loaded into any empty bins whose bin lamps are not lit.
1. Press the DOOR OPEN key. The elevator rises and stays in its uppermost position automatically. The cart machine releases its door lock.
2. Open the door and load the cassettes. A compartment of bins contains one L-size cassette (BETACAM, D-2) or tow S-size cassettes side by side or three DV cassettes.
3. Close the door.
Note: The cart machine allows you to load cassettes even
if the VTRs are in use. The VTRs in the cart machine can operate regardless of whether the cart machine's door is open or closed. The elevator, however, does not move while the door is open. Close the door as soon as cassette loading is finished.

SECTION 5

OPERATION CHECK

The initial operation check, which is performed after the unit is installed according to section 4 "INSTALLATION AND ASSEMBLING PROCEDURE", is mentioned in this section.
The operation check is performed by execute the auto test mode which is a part of test mode equipped BFC-1. See maintenance manual section 5 "TEST MODE" about a method of operation.
When a trouble is occurred during executing the test mode, confirm the following. It is able to look into the cause from the test mode that trouble occurred.
. Cause of the trouble is installation . Cause of the trouble is a fault of the equipments
After finding cause of the trouble, take necessary steps according to the corresponding item in the installation manual or maintenance manual.

Check the metal trim, “metallized” knobs, screws, and all other exposed metal parts for AC leakage. Check leakage as described below.
LEAKAGE TEST
The AC leakage from any exposed metal part to earth ground and from all exposed metal parts to any exposed metal part having a return to chassis, must not exceed 3.5 mA. Leakage current can be measured by any one of three methods.
1. A commercial leakage tester, such as the Simpson 229 or RCA WT-540A. Follow the manufacturers’ instructions to use these instruments.
2. A battery-operated AC milliammeter. The Data Precision 245 digital multimeter is suitable for this job.
3. Measuring the voltage drop across a resistor by means of a VOM or battery-operated AC voltmeter. The “limit” indication is 5.25 V, so analog meters must have an accurate lowvoltage scale. The Simpson 250 and Sanwa SH-63Trd are examples of a passive VOM that is suitable. Nearly all battery operated digital multimeters that have a 20 V AC range are suitable. (See Fig. A)
