All the instructions given must be followed closely and this guide must be stored in a safe place throughout the service life of your product. These instructions describe how to install and commission this product. Any installation or use outside the ﬁeld of application speciﬁed by Somfy is forbidden. This invalidates the warranty and discharges Somfy of all liability, as does any failure to comply with the instructions given herein. Somfy cannot be held liable for any changes in standards which come into eﬀect aer the publication of these instructions.

General safety instructions

• This product is not designed to be used by persons (including children) whose physical, sensory or mental capacity is impaired, or persons with little experience or knowledge, unless they are under supervision or have received instructions on using this product by a person responsible for their safety.

• Do not let children play with this product.

• Do not immerse the product in liquid.

• Do not drop, drill or dismantle this equipment, as this will invalidate the warranty.

• Do not expose this equipment to high temperatures or leave it in direct sunlight.

This product provides greater protection for the home, with 3 usage levels:

- Fire detection: Fire alarm when smoke is detected

- Interconnectable: Simultaneous triggering of the ﬁre alarm on all Somfy connected smoke alarms in the home

- Connected to TaHoma®: More options for the Connected home (email alerts, notiﬁcations,...)

Recycling

Do not dispose of this product with the household waste. Please take it to a collection point or an approved centre to ensure it is recycled correctly.

Ensure batteries are separated from other types of waste and are recycled via your local recycling centre.

Installation

Inserting the batteries

Insert the 9V and 3V batteries in their respective locations. The Connected smoke sensor cannot operate without batteries. Therefore, you must insert the batteries correctly (+ pole on the + side and - pole on the - side).

The 9V battery (DURACELL MN1604, EVEREADY 522, GP1604A) powers the smoke detection and alert system. The 3V battery (DURACELL ULTRA123, ENERGIZER 123) powers the interconnection system between the sensor and operation with TaHoma®.

Testing the product

Test the Connected smoke sensor by pressing the test button on the cover. If all parts of the product are functioning correctly, a "BEEP" will sound.

If no beep sounds, the appliance has a defective battery or another fault.

Where to ﬁt the Connected smoke sensor:

• On each ﬂoor.

• In frequently used rooms that are too far to hear an audible signal (Thanks to the interconnection, if you have several Connected smoke sensors, the alert will spread through the house with no need for additional settings).

• Outside unused rooms, e.g. boiler rooms.

Where not to ﬁt the Connected smoke sensor:

• Outside

• In a location where it is diﬃcult to hear the alarm (room with closed door)

• In a location where it is diﬃcult to access the sensor, in particular to carry out tests

• In a location where the temperature is below 4°C or above 45°C

• In a location where the humidity is below 10% or above 95% (bathroom, kitchen, laundry room, etc.)

• In a location aﬀected by large and/or rapid variations in temperature, pressure or humidity

• In a location where the sensor is exposed to direct sunlight

• In a dusty or dirty location (garage, workshop, etc.)

• In a location infested with insects

• In a location where smoke or fumes from the surrounding area could compromise the smoke sensor: kitchen, ﬂue, garages (exhaust gas), stove, boiler, combustion radiators, etc.

• Near to heating appliances, windows, ventilation outlets, air conditioning units, fans or any other equipment that could produce air currents

• Near to a location which is warmer or cooler than the rest of the room (uninsulated walls, hatches, etc.)

Position the connected smoke sensor in accordance with the applicable building standards.

Ceiling installation:

• Install the Connected smoke sensor on the ceiling in the centre of the room and at least 30 cm from corners, walls, joists or other obstacles.

Sloping ceiling installation:

• Install the Connected smoke sensor between 30 cm and 60 cm vertically from the highest point on the ceiling.

Wall installation:

• Install the Connected smoke sensor on the wall, between 30 cm and 60 cm from the ceiling.

Installing the Connected smoke sensor

• In the case where a Connected smoke sensor is being used with the TaHoma® Box, it will be necessary to add it to TaHoma® before ﬁtting it to the mounting bracket.

• Remove the mounting bracket from the connected smoke sensor by turning it anticlockwise.

• Place the mounting bracket in the speciﬁed location and mark the location of the two mounting holes using a pencil.

• Use the 2 mounting screws and the plugs provided.

• Firmly ﬁt the mounting bracket.

• Aﬃx the sensor on the mounting bracket by turning it clockwise until it locks.

Interconnection

When several Connected smoke sensors are present in the home, they will recognise each other automatically. When smoke is detected, the alert will spread through the whole house, with no prior special setting required.

Adding to the TaHoma

On the TaHoma® interface, select the tab.

- Select the Conﬁguration tab.

- Select the "IO" tab, then select "Add".

- Follow the procedure shown.

Once the Connected smoke sensors are added to TaHoma®, go to the TaHoma® interface for more settings (notiﬁcations, email alerts, etc.). Refer to the TaHoma® manual for the settings.

You can also carry out a functional test of the product via TaHoma®, which is the simplest option.

Restoring the original conﬁguration

Press the Connected smoke sensor test button until you hear 6 beeps. The Connected smoke sensor is now reset to the factory conﬁguration.

Recycling

Gooi het product niet weg met het huishoudelijk afval. Let er op dat u het bij een inzamelpunt of depot inlevert zodat het gerecycleerd kan worden.

Houd de batterijen en accu's gescheiden van ander afval en laat ze apart inzamelen door een gespecialiseerd bedrijf voor recycling.

Installatie

Plaatsen van de batterijen

Installeer de batterijen van 9V en 3V op hun respectievelijke plaatsen. Zonder batterijen kan de connected rookdetector niet werken. U moet daarom de batterijen op de juiste plaats en in de juiste richting aanbrengen ("+"-pool bij "+" en "-"-pool bij "-").

De batterij van 9V ( DURACELL MN1604, EVEREADY 522, GP1604A) voedt het rookdetectie- en brandalarmsysteem. De batterij van 3V (DURACELL ULTRA123, ENERGIZER 123) voedt het systeem voor koppeling tussen de detectors en de werking met TaHoma®.

Test van het product

Test de connected rookdetector door op de testknop op de kap te drukken. Als het product volledig in goed werkende staat is, klinkt een "PIEP".

Als u geen "PIEP" hoort, is de batterij niet goed of hee het apparaat een andere storing.

Waar moet de connected rookdetector worden geïnstalleerd?

• Op elke verdieping.

• In vertrekken die vaak worden gebruikt en te veraf liggen om een geluidssignaal te horen (bij meerdere connected rookdetectors die gekoppeld zijn, kunt u het alarm door het hele huis horen zonder instelling vooraf).

• Aan de buitenkant van ongebruikte vertrekken, zoals de ketelruimte.

Waar mag de connected rookdetector niet worden geïnstalleerd?

• Buiten

• Op een plaats waar het alarm moeilijk hoorbaar is (vertrek met dichte deur)

• Op een plaats waar de detector moeilijk bereikbaar is, met name voor het testen van de werking

• Op een plaats waar de temperatuur lager is dan 4°C of hoger dan 45° C

• Op een plaats waar de vochtigheid lager is dan 10% of hoger dan 95% (badkamer, keuken, washok, enz.)

• Op een plaats met grote en/of snelle veranderingen van de temperatuur, de druk of de vochtigheid

• Op een plaats waar de zon direct op de detector schijnt

• Op een stoﬃge of vuile plaats (garage, werkplaats, enz.)

• Op een plaats met veel insecten

• Op een plaats waar de rookdetectie verstoord kan worden door valse rookmeldingen: keuken, open haard, garages (uitlaatgassen), ovens, verwarmingsketels, oliestraalkachels, enz.

• In de buurt van verwarmingstoestellen, vensters, ventilatieroosters, airconditioners, ventilators of andere apparaten die luchtstromingen veroorzaken

• In de buurt van een plaats die warmer of kouder is dan de rest van het vertrek (ongeïsoleerde muren, luiken, enz.)

Positioneer de connected rookdetector in overeenstemming met de geldende bouwvoorschrien.

Montage aan het plafond:

• Installeer de connected rookdetector aan het plafond in het midden van het vertrek, door hem vast te zetten op ten minste 30 cm afstand van hoeken, muren, balken of andere obstakels.

Montage aan een schuin plafond:

• Installeer de connected rookdetector door hem vast te zetten op een verticale afstand tussen 30 cm en 60 cm onder het hoogste punt van het plafond.

Montage aan een muur:

• Installeer de connected rookdetector tegen de muur door hem vast te zetten op een afstand tussen 30 cm en 60 cm van het plafond.
