Wall fitting (fig. 2)Wall fitting (fig. 2) Use the paper template provided to mark the hole positions on the wall for the bracket fixing screws. When drilling the holes for the wall fixing screws care must be taken to ensure that they are quite level as there is only minimal vertical adjustment of the fixing brackets. The brackets should be fixed with the round end at the bottom. Once the brackets are screwed to the wall the hood can be hooked on.

Use in external evacuation (ducted) version (fig. 3)Use in external evacuation (ducted) version (fig. 3) The cooking fumes are passed to the atmosphere through a ducting system. The air outlet on top of the hood must be connected to the external exhaust ducting. To connect the hood to the ducting use the connection flange supplied. Open the grille panel and check that the convertible knob is in the DUCTING position (fig. 5). The charcoal filter is not required when the hood is in the exhuast mode. The ducting should not be turned through every tight bends as this may impair the performance of the hood.

Open the grille panel and check to convertible knob is in the RECYCLING (fig.
5) position and that the charcoal filter is fitted over the plastic grille supporting the motor. Models with two motors require two charcoal filters.

Press inwardly on the two slide catch fastners, located at each side of the grille near the facia panel, while pulling the grille panel onwards (fig. 6). The grille may then pivot down. To remove the grille, release the right hand hinge pin from the slot along the casing and the grille can be removed (fig. 7).
OperationOperation
Operation
OperationOperation The cookerhood funtions are controlled by three slide switches (fig. 8) which are located in the centre of the grille panel behind the facia panel. The three slide switches control the fan (2), fan speed (3) and worktop illumination (1). A neon lamp (5) (optional) indicates when the cooker hood is working. A concealed microswitch (4) (optional) acts as an over-ride and will switch the hood off, whatever selection is made with the slide switches, when the facia panel is closed. When the panel is pulled open the hood will resume working at the previous setting. The first setting should be selected when simmering or when cooking with only one pan. The second setting should be selected for normal cooking up to four pans and the third setting should be selected when frying or cooking food with strong odours. In cases where the cookerhood is equipped with an electronic speed control switch, greater flexibility is available in selecting the most suitable fan setting. The hood should be switched on immediately when you start cooking and should be left running for approximately 15 minutes after finishing.

MaintenanceMaintenance
Maintenance
MaintenanceMaintenance Regular maintenance and cleaning will ensure good performance and reliability, while extending the working life of the hood. Special attention should be taken to keep the grease filter clean at all times and the charcoal filter (recirculation model) should be replaced regularly. To remove filters for subsequent cleaning and replacement first open the metal grille panel.
Grease filterGrease filter
Grease filter
Grease filterGrease filter This retain the solid grease particles. It is fitted onto the reverse side of the lower grille panel and can be either of a synthetic material or metallic. Maintenance of the grease filter varies according to the type used: synthetic grease filters should not be washed and should be replaced every three months (fig. 9). The metal grease filters should be washed once a month in hot water using mild detergent or liquid soap. It should not be bent and should be left to dry before being refitted. The filter is easily removed from grille by pushing the spring wire clips to one side and removing.
Charcoal filterCharcoal filter
Charcoal filter
Charcoal filterCharcoal filter In the recycling mode the charcoal filter absorbs smells and odours. The charcoal filter cannot be cleaned and should be replaced at least every six months or more frequently if the hood is used consistently. To replace the charcoal filter, support the filter with one hand, remove the thumb screw (fig. 10) through the centre of the charcoal filter and the filter will come away. Replace by reversing the operation.

ImportantImportant
Important
ImportantImportant For cooker hoods featuring an earth cable, make sure the electric plant of your house is correctly earthed. Appliance in class II are provided with a double insulation; therefore do not connect then through earthed plugs but through simple bipolar plugs. For safety, when installed the hood must be positioned at least 65 cm above a cooking appliance. Never leave frying pans unattended during use as overheated fats and oils may catch fire. Never do flame cooking under a hood. The cookerhood ducting must never be connected to central heating flues, radiators or water heaters, etc. Before connection to the mains supply ensure that the mains voltage corresponds to the voltage on the rating plate inside the hood. Before carrying out any kind of maintenance or cleaning, disconnect the hood from the mains supply.
