1.INTRODUCTION

SME have manufactured pick-up arms for more than thirty years and the design and manufacturing experience gained has now been applied to the Model 30/2 precision turntable. It complements the Series V precision pick-up arm, ‘the best pick up arm in the world’ and with this and comparable equipment can provide a listening experience that allows vinyl sound to be re-assessed. Detail, resolution, dynamic range and neutrality are of a new order, with an impressive lowering of the noise floor. As one listener remarked, ‘No feeling of anything going round, just the master tape passing smoothly through’. For the fortunate owner of a record collection the Model 30/2 can be the key to a rich storehouse of listening pleasure.
