Managed Layer 2 Switch with
4 expansion slots

The SMC6704M compliments SMC´s Tiger line of managed LAN
switches by offering flexibility for corporate sized networks in a 4-slot
cabinet with a variety of modular media options. Expandable to reach
a maximum of 32 10/100BASE-TX ports, this modular layer 2 managed
switch may also be configured to support up to 16 100BASE-FX ports or
4 1000BASE-T/SX/LX ports. Each intelligent module comes with a 12K
MAC address entry table and supports auto-negotiation.

With a backplane of 9.6Gbps for bandwidth hungry networks, the
SMC6704M runs on store and forward switching architecture, supports
backpressure in half-duplex and flow control in full-duplex mode. From
cabinet level management to port level control and monitoring, this
SMC modular Tiger Switch 10/100 packs in a full array of network
management tools and software to give the administrator full control
and easy access to the network. With SMC´s standard limited lifetime
guarantee the SMC6704M offers performance and flexibility for
medium sized and large networks at an affordable cost of ownership.
