11Mbps Wireless PC Card
The SMC2632 V.2 is an IEEE 802.11b - compliant 11Mbps wireless PC
card. It meets the needs of a small business and corporate users who
require 11Mbps wireless connection to an existing LAN. This new
adapter features an operating range of up to 545m, an ad-hoc mode
for peer-to-peer networking, and true plug-and-play installation in all
notebook computers.
Great for mobile users, temporary work sites, and a range of other
applications, wireless technology provides optimal mobility, simple
and flexible installation options and excellent scalability in
supporting additional PCs. The technology is also ideal for use with
cable modems, xDSL or SOHO applications.
In the typical wireless configuration, an Access Point (SMC2655W)
connects to a wired network. Each Access Point supports up to 64
users, with a maximum range of 850m. Users access the LAN via SMC
wireless adapters in their notebooks or desktops. The wireless LAN
adapters interface between the client Network Operating System and
the Access Point. In a peer-to-peer configuration, one wireless card is
needed for each computer, but no Access Point is required.
All SMC products are backed by a limited lifetime warranty and
free technical support.
