have received the following components:

• 1 SMC2531W-B EU EliteConnect

High Power Wireless PC Card.

• 1 EZ Installation Wizard and Documentation CD.

• 1 Quick Installation Guide.

Immediately inform your dealer in the event of any incorrect,
missing or damaged parts. If possible, please retain the carton
and original packing materials in case there is a need to return the
product.

The new EliteConnectTM2.4GHz 802.11b High Power Wireless
PC Card (SMC2531W-B EU) offers an incredible transmit power
of 100mW, one of the highest in the industry. The SMC
EliteConnectTM802.11b High Power Wireless PC Card provides
an operating range up to 3 times greater than the standard

802.11b wireless clients. Since it has the ability to significantly
decrease indoor multipath distortion, users will experience
dramatic improvements in the quality and throughput of their
wireless networking. Equipped with a detachable antenna
with two available MMCX connectors, users can connect
an optional high gain antenna (SMCANT-OM5) to increase
the already superior range of the SMC2531W-B EU.

Based on the IEEE 802.11b standard, this new product can
be configured for Ad-hoc mode (Peer-to-Peer) or Infrastructure
mode (communication to the wired network via an Access Point).
Since it is based on 802.11b standard, it is interoperable with
different 802.11b compliant vendors. The included EZ Installation
Wizard enables quick and easy setup.

The EliteConnect™ 802.11b High Power Wireless PC Card has
two status LED indicators and a detachable antenna.

Step 3. With the PC Card’s 68-pin connector facing the PCMCIA

slot and the ”EliteConnectTMWireless PC Card” label facing up,
slide the card completely into the PCMCIA slot as shown below.

Step 4. For Windows 98SE/Me/2000, PCMCIA card and socket
services compliant with revision 2.10 of the PCMCIA specification
are required. Please check the documents of your PCMCIA driver
for confirmation.

Step 5. The card will be automatically installed during
the Operating System’s boot-up process. Once complete,
you may take advantage of the wireless functionality
this adapter has to offer.

Note: The PCMCIA slot allows you to hot swap PC Cards any time,

even when your computer is on.

Die neue EliteConnectTM2,4 GHz 802.11b High Power Wireless
PC-Karte (SMC2531W-B EU) arbeitet mit einer unglaublichen

der Branche. Die SMC EliteConnectTM802.11b High Power Wireless
PC-Karte bietet einen Einsatzbereich, der bis zu 3 Mal größer als

Schritt 3. Führen Sie die Karte vollständig in den PCMCIA-Steckplatz

ein (siehe Abbildung), und zwar so, dass die Kontakte des 68-Pin­Anschlusses der PC-Karte auf den Steckplatz zeigen und das Etikett
„EliteConnectTMWireless PC Card” oben ist.

Schritt 4. Unter Windows 98SE/Me/2000 werden die der Revision

2.10 der PCMCIA-Spezifikation entsprechenden „PCMCIA Card und
Socket Services“ benötigt. Prüfen Sie die Dokumente Ihres PCMCIA­Treibers daraufhin.

Schritt 5. Während des Boot-Vorgangs des Betriebssystems wird
die Karte automatisch installiert. Danach können Sie alle Vorteile
Ihres Wireless-Adapters nutzen.

Hinweis: Der PCMCIA-Steckplatz erlaubt das Herausnehmen

und Einführen von PC-Karten auch bei eingeschalte­tem Computer.

802.11b (SMC2531W-B EU) offre une très grande puissance de
transmission (100 mW), l’une des plus élevée du marché.
La carte PC sans fil High Power EliteConnectTM2.4GHz 802.11b
offre un rayon d’action jusqu’à trois fois supérieur à celui
des clients sans fil standard 802.11b. Comme elle est capable
de diminuer considérablement la distorsion due à la propagation
par trajets multiples en environnement intérieur, les utilisateurs
peuvent bénéficier de réseaux sans fil présentant des améliorations
majeures de qualité et de débit. Cette carte est équipée
d’une antenne amovible dotée de deux connecteurs MMCX et
les utilisateurs peuvent connecter en option une antenne à gain
élevé (SMCANT-OM5) pour améliorer la portée déjà élevée de
la carte SMC2531W-B EU.

Étape 3. Présentez le connecteur 68 broches de la carte PC

face à l’emplacement PCMCIA et avec l’étiquette « EliteConnect

TM

Wireless PC Card » tournée vers le haut, puis insérez complètement
la carte dans l’emplacement PCMCIA, comme illustré page
précedente.

Étape 4. Pour Windows 98SE/Me/2000, des services de carte
PCMCIA et de socket compatibles avec la révision 2.10 de
la spécification PCMCIA sont requis. Consultez les documents
fournis avec votre driver PCMCIA pour confirmation.

Étape 5. La carte est automatiquement installée pendant
