The EZ Connect™ 2.4GHz 11 Mbps Wireless Cardbus Adapter (SMC2635W) is a
high performance and cost-effective 2.4GHz 11 Mbps wireless device for your
laptop. This new 802.11b adapter, provides the speed, coverage, and security
expected by today’s wireless users.
The EZ Connect™ Wireless Cardbus Adapter includes an EZ Installation Wizard
that enables quick and easy setup. Simply put the EZ Installation Wizard CD
into your CD-ROM drive, click on Install Driver/Utility Link and the wizard will
perform the installation automatically. Then plug in your EZ Connect Wireless
Cardbus Adapter into the PCMCIA slot of your laptop, you are now ready to
enjoy the freedom of wireless networking, and can now easily obtain instant,
seamless high-speed network connection.
The new SMC2635W features configurable high transmit power up to 100
milliWatts (mW). It provides an operating range up to 350m. SMC2635W
supports data rates of up to 11 Mbps, with auto-fallback capability to 5.5,
2, 1 Mbps, and provides a high level of security by supporting both 64/128­bit WEP encryption as well as the new Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA)*. In
addition, it also supports 802.1x** for user authentication to ensure only
authorized users can access the resources of the wireless network. Moreover,
profile management software allows the new wireless notebook adapter the
ability to save multiple wireless settings corresponding to different locations
or networks. For ease of use, SMC2635W has a built-in utility program for
scanning all available Wireless Access Points on the network. Important
for mobile use, this new EZ Connect Wireless Adapter supports low power
consumption that prolongs the battery life of your laptop, and provides
additional convenience for international travelers by allowing users to
select specific countries countries and available channels in each regulatory
domain.
Combine all of these features and you have a state-of-the-art, technologically
advanced wireless adapter to seamlessly integrate into a new or existing
wireless network.
