Thank you for purchasing the Smart Temp ERT (Electronic Room Thermostat). This thermostat is the product of years of research into the requirements of the Australian consumer. It has been designed and manufactured to the highest quality standards and designed to be a highly reliable, simple to use and a feature rich thermostat.
To take full advantage of the features and functions of this thermostat please find time to read and understand these simple operating instructions.

All user functions are easily accessed by pressing the 6 clearly marked soft touch buttons found on the face of the thermostat. The thermostat is also fitted with a Liquid Crystal Display that indicates room temperature, set temperature as well as the thermostat operating mode.
To Turn the Thermostat On or Off
Pressing the On/Off button on the face of the thermostat toggles the thermostat between the On and Off mode. The current operation mode is indicated in the top left of the LCD by an arrow pointing to the word “ON”. When the arrow is Dark (visible) the thermostat is in the ON mode and controlling the heating or cooling equipment connected to it. When the arrow is not visible the thermostat is OFF and not controlling the room temperature.

To Select the Fan Speed
The Smart Temp ERT is capable of controlling heating and cooling equipment fitted with up to three fan speeds. By pressing the Speed button on the LCD, the thermostat will switch between Low, Medium, High and AutoFan Speed mode. As each press of the Speed button is detected, the current fan speed will be indicated on the LCD by the appropriate arrow being On (darkened). Auto Fan Speed mode will be indicated when all three fan speed indicators are On in the LCD.
When Auto Fan Speed mode is selected, the thermostat will increase or decrease the fan speed of the heating or cooling equipment depending how far away the Set (or desired) temperature is from the current room temperature. In Auto Fan Speed Mode, as all fan speed indicators are on, the current automatically selected fan speed is indicated by the flashing arrow.
To Select the Required Operation Mode
The ERT is capable of fully automatically controlling the room comfort, or permitting manual override of many of the thermostat functions depending on the preferences of the occupant. For example, the ERT has the ability to have the fan running continuously when the thermostat is on, regardless of the requirement for heating or cooling. Or the ERT will only bring on the fan on when there is a requirement to heat or cool the building (Auto Fan Mode as indicated by “A.Fan” on the LCD). Further, the ERT will allow the selection of heat only, cool only or auto changeover mode where the thermostat will automatically switch between heating and cooling mode depending on ambient and set temperature (indicated by “Heat” & “Cool” displayed simultaneously on the LCD).
By pressing the Mode button the thermostat will toggle through seven (7) operational modes. These modes are
1 - Cool with continuous fan operation. 2 - Cool with Auto Fan operation. 3 - Heat with continuous fan operation. 4 - Heat with Auto Fan operation. 5 - Heat / Cool (Auto change over mode) with continuous fan operation. 6 - Heat / Cool (Auto change over mode) with Auto fan operation. 7 - Continuos Fan only operation. (No heating or cooling required)

To Adjust the Temperature
The room temperature can be adjusted to within a resolution of 1 deg C by pressing the Set button on the right hand side of the thermostat. Pressing the + side increases the set (or desired) temperature by 1 deg C. Pressing the - side decreases the set (or desired) temperature by 1 Deg C.
Pressing the Set button will cause the LCD display to change from indicating the current room temperature to a “Flashing” indication of the Set (or desired) Temperature. After a few seconds the display will stop flashing and return to display the current room temperature.
When the thermostat is calling for heat or cooling, the respective arrow will flash in the LCD.
The ERT has built in delays between heating and cooling to protect over cycling of the heating or cooling equipment. While the ERT is in delay mode, the deg C symbol will flash in the LCD.
Timer Function
The Smart Temp ERT is fitted with a convenient 12 hour Auto On or Off timer. This feature is useful should you wish to run the thermostat for an extra hour or two prior to bed, or to have the thermostat turn back on automatically before you return home.
Using the Timer to automatically turn the system OFF
While the system is running, press the Timer button. The display will change and show the numeral “1”, indicating the default 1 hour timer period. Pressing the Set + or Set - buttons you can select the number of hours before the thermostat turns the system off. Pressing the Timer button again returns the system to normal mode. The “Timer” arrow will now be on in the LCD to indicate the timer function is set
