neoChat
Safety Information
neoChat Reference Guide
The radiated output power of the neoChat NC-10 internal wireless radio is far below the FCC and Industry Canada radio frequency exposure limits. Nevertheless, the wireless radio shall be used in such a manner that the potential for human contact during normal operation is minimized. The internal wireless radio operates within guidelines found in radio frequency safety standards and recommendations, which reflect the consensus of the scientific community.
The level of emitted energy emitted is far less than the electromagnetic energy emitted by wireless devices such as mobile phones. However, the use of wireless radios may be restricted in some situations or environments, such as aboard airplanes. If you are unsure of restrictions, you are encouraged to ask for authorization before turning on the wireless radio.
The FCC and Industry Canada has set a general guideline of 20 cm (8 inches) separation between the device and the body, for use of a wireless device near the body. This device should be used more than 20 cm (8 inches) from the body when wireless devices are on.
Never short-circuit the battery by connecting the positive and negative
terminals with a metal material. Do not store or carry the battery where it could come into contact with metal objects such as a key chain or necklace.
Never allow the battery to get wet or be immersed in water.
Do not place the battery in a microwave oven or high pressure container.
Stop charging if the battery is not charged after the prescribed charge
time.
If leakage of the electrolyte occurs, or if there is an offensive odor,
immediately keep the battery away for any source of fire or spark.
If you become aware of any abnormal phenomena, such as odor, discol-
oration, or deformation, during use, while charging or when storing the battery, remove the battery from the device or charger and stop using.
In the event the electrolyte comes into contact with the eyes, flush
thoroughly with clean water, without rubbing. Consult with a physician immediately.
WELCOME
Areas with a potentially explosive atmosphere are often but not always clearly marked. They include the below-deck area on boats, chemical transfer or storage facilities, vehicles using liquefied petroleum gas (propane or butane), areas where the air contains chemicals or particles, such as grain, dust or metal powders, and any other area where you would normally be advised to turn off your vehicle engine.
For the safe use of lithium ion batteries always follow the instructions provided below. Improper handling of lithium ion batteries may result in injury or damage from electrolyte leakage, heating, ignition, or explosion.
Danger:
Never use the batteries with anything other than specifically
designed equipment.
Always use the battery charger provided with the device.
Never impact, pierce or crush the battery.
Handle a damaged or leaking battery with extreme care. If you
come in contact with the electrolyte, wash the exposed area with soap and water. If it contacts the eye, flush the eye with water for 15 minutes and seek medical attention.
When discarding a battery, contact your local waste disposal provider
regarding local restrictions on the disposal or recycling of batteries.
Never disassemble or modify the battery. The battery contains a
circuit designed to enhance safety. Damaging this circuit may cause overheating, fire or bursting.
Never expose or charge a battery under high temperature conditions,
such as near a fire or in the direct sunlight. If the ambient temperature is too high, the protection circuit may be actuated, preventing further charging, or damaged.
Your PMG connected world starts with a mobile phone with PMG technology (neoFone) and also includes one or more PMG Companions. Using PMG technology, neoFone connects wirelessly with the PMG Companions like neoChat.
neoFone is a slim, feature-packed mobile phone. neoFone also has the
huge benefit of allowing you to connect with PMG Companions, like
neoChat and neoSnap. You can chat or exchange Emails thanks to your

Hearing Aids
Certain digital wireless products, such as your neoChat, may interfere
with some hearing aids. Consult your Service Provider in the event of interference.
Other Medical Devices
The operation of any radio-transmitting equipment, including your
neoChat, may interfere with the functioning of inadequately protected
medical devices. Consult a physician or the manufacturer of the medical device if you have any questions or to determine if the devices are adequately shielded from external RF energy.
Power off your neoChat in health care facilities when instructed to do
so. Hospitals or health care facilities may be using equipment sensitive to external RF energy.
Transport
RF signals may affect improperly installed or inadequately shielded
electronic systems in motor vehicles, for example electronic fuel injection systems, electronic anti-skid (anti-lock) braking systems, electronic speed control systems, and air bag systems.
Check these issues with your vehicle manufacturer or representative.
You should also consult the manufacturer of any equipment that has been added to your vehicle.
Power off your neoChat before boarding an aircraft. The use of wire-
less products such as your neoChat in an aircraft may be dangerous to the operation of the aircraft, disrupt the wireless telephone network, and may be illegal.
Posted Facilities
Power off your neoChat in any facility where posted notices require
you to do so.
Potential Explosive Atmospheres
Power off your neoChat in areas with a potentially explosive atmo-
sphere, and obey all signs and instructions. Sparks in such areas could cause an explosion or fire resulting in bodily injury or even death.
You should power off your neoChat at a refueling point (service station)
and observe restrictions on the use of radio equipment in fuel depots (fuel storage and distribution areas), chemical plants or areas where blasting operations are in progress.

Your neoChat is a product of superior design and craftsmanship, and should be treated with care. The suggestions below will help you to fulfill any warranty obligations and to enjoy this product for many years.
Note the following when using your neoChat, battery, charger or any other
accessory:
Keep your neoChat and all its parts and accessories out of the reach
of small children.
Keep your neoChat dry. Precipitation, humidity, and liquids contain
minerals that can corrode electronic circuits.

moving parts can be damaged.
Do not store your neoChat in hot areas. High temperatures can
shorten the life of electronic devices, damage batteries, and warp or melt certain plastics.
Do not store your neoChat in cold areas. When your neoChat warms
up (to its normal temperature), moisture can form inside the device and may damage electronic circuit boards.
Do not attempt to open your neoChat. Non-expert handling of the
device may damage it and void the warranty on the product.
Do not drop, knock, or shake your neoChat. Rough handling can
break internal circuit boards.
Do not clean your neoChat with harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents,
or strong detergents. Wipe clean with a soft cloth, slightly dampened in a mild soap-and-water solution.
Do not paint your neoChat. Paint can clog the device’s moving parts
and prevent proper functioning.
If your neoChat, the battery charger, or any accessory is not working
properly, contact your nearest qualified service facility. The personnel there will assist you, and if necessary, arrange for service.
The neoChat charger is equipped with a ferrite bead to reduce EMI
(electromagnetic interference) and RFI (radio-frequency interference.) Do not for any reason remove the ferrite bead from the product.
