● Operating the tool
- adjust planing depth
- place tool on workpiece
! ensure that only the front shoe rests on the
workpiece and that the knives do not touch it
- switch on the tool by first pressing knob M 2 (=
safety switch which cannot be locked) and then
pulling trigger N 2
! before the knives reach the workpiece, the tool
should run at full speed
- hold the tool firmly with both hands and guide it
forward in a continuous stroke
- use the tool with its base-plate on the workpiece
- do not tilt the tool in order to avoid unwanted planing
marks
- keep the ventilation slots uncovered
! before switching off the tool, you should lift it
from the workpiece
- switch off the tool by releasing trigger N
● Planing rabbets
- select required planing depth
- select rabbeting depth by using rabbeting depth
adjuster P 2
- adjust rabbeting width by using rip fence Q 3
- place tool on workpiece
- start planing
- maximum rabbeting width 82 mm
- maximum rabbeting depth 24 mm
APPLICATION ADVICE
● For chamfering edges use the V-groove in the front
shoe 5
- turn knob H to select required depth
- always test out first on a piece of scrap material
● For planing a considerable amount of beams with a
uniform planing depth a plane stand is advised for
stationary use (SKIL accessory 2610387872)
WHEN USING PLANE STAND:
! switch off the tool and disconnect the plug before
using plane stand
- the plane stand is equipped with a switch clamp
allowing the plane to operate independently
- switch on the plane by first pressing knob M 2 and
then pushing the clamp over switch N 2
- in order to switch off the plane, pull the cord attached
to the clamp
- the knife protection guard prevents contact with
rotating knife; it will open automatically when pushed
by workpiece
! when planing short, narrow workpieces, use a
pushing device
