Split-beam echo sounder transducer
Introduction
The Simrad ES38DD is a splitbeam echo sounder transducer
incorporating 88 Tonpilz elements
distributed over four quadrants. The
transducer is lled with liquid, and
may thus be used at water depths
down to 1500 meters.
The Tonpilz elements used in
the ES38DD are identical to those
found in the ES38B transducer, and
therefore generate similar data with
the exception of higher back radiation
and lower efciency.
