SFX-9 Video Mixer Introduction
Congratulations on your purchase of Sima’s Color Corrector Model SCC-2. This product is designed to make adjustments to video signals while making copies. The SCC-2 allows you to adjust the brightness, contrast, color, sharpness and NTSC Tint. It features composite and s-video inputs and outputs.
FCC and Maintenance information
This equipment generates and uses radio frequency energy and if not installed and used properly, that is, in strict accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, may cause interference to radio and television reception. It has been type tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B computing device in accordance with the specifications in Subpart J of Part 15 of FCC Rules, which are designed to provide reasonable protection against such interference in a residential installation. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:
1. Re-orient the receiver.
2. Relocate this equipment with respect to the receiver.
3. Move this equipment away from the receiver.
4. Plug this equipment into a different outlet so that the equipment and receiver are on different branch circuits.
If necessary, the user should consult the dealer or an experienced radio/television technician for additional suggestions. The user may find the following booklet prepared by the Federal Communications Commission helpful. “How to Identify and Resolve Radio-TV Interference Problems”. Warnings and Safety information

Safety Check list
Only a qualified service person should remove the cover or attempt to service this device. To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this apparatus to rain or moisture. Never make or change connections when the power is still switched on To prevent the risk of electric shock, do not remove the cover (or back). No user- serviceable parts inside. Please refer to important operating and maintenance (servicing) instructions in the literature accompanying this appliance
Read these instructions and keep them for future reference. Heed all warnings and follow all instructions. Do not use this apparatus near water. Clean only with a damp cloth. Do not install near any heat surfaces such as radiator, heat registers, stoves or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that
produce heat.
Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than
the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong is provided for your safety. When the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.
Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plug’s convenience receptacles, and the point where
they exit from the apparatus.
Unplug this apparatus during lightening storms or when unused for long periods of time. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Service is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such
as the power-supply cord or plug is damaged, if liquid has been spilled or an object has fallen into the apparatus or the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, has been dropped, and does not operate normally.

Front panel diagram
1. Standby indicator - Indicates that unit is in standby mode when lit.
2. Power button - Press to turn unit on.
3. Input Source Indicator Lights – Indicates which Input Source is selected.
4. Input Source Select - Select one of four inputs as video input source.
5. IR window - receives IR signal from remote control.
6. Menu/Exit button - Press to enter and exit Main Menu.
7. - / + Up/Down – Press -/+ buttons to select Sub-Menus between Video Adjustment
and Output System. Use Up/Down buttons to move between menu items.
8. Color Adjustment knobs – use to make color adjustments
Rear panel diagram
1. Composite Video Outputs – Connect to recording VCR/DVD input
2. S-Video Outputs – Connect to recording VCR/DVD input
3. Composite Video Inputs – Connect to playback VCR/DVD output
4. S-Video Inputs – Connect to playback VCR/DVD output
5. AC/DC adapter power jack – Connect power adapter and plug into standard 120V AC outlet

To Connect SCC-2:
1. Connect either Composite or S-video Output from playback VCR/DVD to one of the Composite
or S-video inputs on SCC-2
2. Connect either Composite or S-video Output from SCC-2 to one of the Composite or S-video
inputs on recording VCR/DVD
3. Connect AC/DC adapter to power jack on SCC-2. Plug adapter into standard 120V AC outlet
Operation
After connecting the SCC-2 to a playback and recording device,
Power/Standby Select:
When the power adapter is plugged in, the SCC-2 enters a Standby mode. The red
Power/Standby LED will be illuminated.
To turn the unit on, Press the Power button. The Standby LED goes off and an input indicator light
corresponding to the selected input will be lit
.
Press the Power button again to re-enter into Standby mode.
Note: To entirely turn off the power for the unit, unplug the power adapter.
Input Source Select: Select one of four inputs as video input source
Input 1 button: Press to select composite video 1 as input source
Input 2 button: Press to select composite video 2 as input source
Input 3 button: Press to select S-Video 3 as input source
Input 4 button: Press to select S-Video 4 as input source

Menu / - / + Operations
Upon selecting an input source the following menu will appear on your
television/monitor.
Main Menu
S/T: select
+ / - : enter Menu : exit
Video Adjustment
Output System
OSD Display
Step 1: Press Menu button to enter Main Menu.
Step 2: Use S/T buttons to select Sub-Menu between Video Adjustment,
Output System and On Screen Display
Step 3: Press + button to enter the selected Sub-Menu.
Selecting MENU exits menu display.
Video Adjustment
After entering into Video Adjustment Sub-Menu,
use S/T buttons to select the icon, which you
want to adjust

S/T: select
+ / - : enter Menu : exit
Adjustable controls are as follows:
Brightness adjustment
Contrast adjustment
Color adjustment
Sharpness adjustment
NTSC Tint adjustment
Values for each control can be varied by pressing -/+ buttons.
Once the adjustment is completed, press “Menu” button to exit adjustment.
* Select RESET to return all settings to default values.
* Select MENU to exit Sub-Menu.

1. Select Output System on Main Menu to enter system conversion menu as above.
2. Press S/T buttons to select the output system you want either: AUTO, NTSC, or PAL
and then press “+”.
3. When AUTO is selected, the output system is the same as input.
4. When NTSC is selected, the output system is fixed at NTSC, regardless what input
system is.
5. When PAL is selected, the output system is fixed at PAL, regardless what input system
is.
6. Select EXIT, press Menu button will exit Sub-Menu and return to Main Menu.

When set to the OSD AUTO Mode, the input type and source will be displayed on screen.
When set to the OSD Off Mode, the input type and source will not be displayed on screen.

Sima Products Corp. (“Sima”) warrants that if the accompanying product proves to be defective to the original purchaser in material or workmanship within 90 days from the original retail purchase, Sima will, at Sima’s option, either repair or replace same without charge (but no cash refund will be made).

It is recommended that you call Sima at the number listed above to obtain a return authorization number.
Limitation of Liability and Remedies
Sima shall have no liability for any damages due to lost profits, loss of use or anticipated benefits, or other incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages arising from the use of, or the inability to use, this product, whether arising out of contract, negligence, tort or under any warranty, even if Sima has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Sima’s liability for damages in no event shall exceed the amount paid for this product. Sima neither assumes nor authorizes anyone to assume for it any other liabilities.
Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
